Kotori had established his pack and Tove had been one of the first to settle into their land. With their claim here so fresh, patrols where needed and borders had to be established and reinforced. The scarred woman has already run the borders several times, adding her scent and fur to the markings, strengthening their claim on the land. However, there are still predators that have not taken the hint that this now is their home and the older wolf has already had to chase a few off.

Today is no different, Tove walks along the border, leaving the pack’s scent where she goes, strengthening every marker that she finds. A great lumbering grizzly bear casually crosses the marked border some distance ahead of her, strolling into their land as if it owns it. Stupid thing. The older wolf increases her pace, moving to intercept the intruder while releasing a call for help as she goes. It turns to look at her, letting out a huff as she approaches.

Tove may be older but she has not slowed down. Scarred body races toward the ursine, ducking under a fat paw that swings at her head. She leaps up, grabbing onto the side of grizzly’s neck and tearing off a chunk of fat. The bear roars as Tove retreats, avoiding another swipe and bite that is aimed her way, ready to kill this stupid predator that doesn’t want to acknowledge pack lands.


"Tove Baade"

Kotori had been working. Really, the only ways to find him were either working, sleeping, or eating as of late. There was so much to do! It had taken a lot of work with help from the others but one of the logs was now fully across the river so that one could use it to cross versus traveling farther down to where it was easier to jump across or normally slow enough to swim through. He wanted it to look nicer but for now, smoothing off the rough outer bark and having it firmly lodged into place would do. There was a second downed tree he wanted to position a bit farther down but that was going to keep for another day.

When Kotori heard the howl he wasted no time in responding. He followed the source and even before he reached the pair he scented the bear. Kotori came into sight and came up from behind the bear, running at full speed he leaped onto the bear’s back. Kotori’s teeth bit into the bear’s ear, ripped upward to leave gashes in it. He didn’t waste time before trying to bite into the bear’s skull, meeting that hard bone resistance. It certainly was a great way to get the bear’s attention away from Tove.

"Kotori Fatalis"

Tove had charged straight into the fight, knowing that someone would appear to back her up. As she retreats, the earthen coat of Kotori appears from behind the hulking grizzly, effortlessly leaping on top of the bear’s back and attacking its ear. The bear roars, shifting its attention to the wolf on its shoulders. If she had time, the older woman would tut at the beast for its stupidity but, as it is, the opening is only there for a few seconds and Tove needs to take advantage of it.

As its attention shifts upward, the scarred woman darts back in, leaping up at the open on its neck and ripping it open even more. The grizzly swipes at her but she is liquid, moving out and away from danger without a sound. Blood spills to the ground and, while the wound itself is not fatal, it will prove to be if Tove can attack the spot one more time.


"Tove Baade"

Tove’s next bite strikes true and the bear rears up onto just two legs with an angry and perhaps bluff of a roar. It's not standing up to attack Tove though, it was just to get the wolf off its back and Kotori does indeed leap off when the angle gets too far. Kotori’s legs hit the ground, squatting down to absorb the landing, teeth snaking in to bite at a leg.

Shockingly the bear turns like it wants to flee. Kotori could let it, there are a number of wolves that might. It was likely going to die anyway though and Kotori wanted it dead for sitting a paw on his land. The wolf kept his grip on the bear’s leg, forcing it to spin around and swipe at Kotori.

"Kotori Fatalis"

The grizzly stood, appearing massive from Tove’s viewpoint. It unseats Kotori and, while it roars in a show of dominance and anger, the older woman is not impressed. Duel-toned eyes flick back to where Ko lands, watching as he sinks his teeth into the beast’s heel. The bear slams back down to earth and moves as if it intends to flee, as if the two wolves it faces will just let its trespassing slide.

It begins to understand its predicament when Kotori does not release his hold and, in the haze of the panic and stupidity, turns to try and swipe at the wolf. Tove sees the shift of weight and, as it begins to swing around, the scarred woman rushes back in. In the space of a few seconds, as the bear is turning to swing at Ko, Tove is back at the creature’s neck and ripping it open. Only this time she doesn’t stop. No, she continues to shred and tear until, as the bear’s body finishes the motion of swinging, it slumps over, dead before it even hits the ground.

Fire blazes in Tove’s eyes as she looks to Kotori, the anger that the creature was trying to hurt her alpha still burning hotly through her veins. Blood paints her face, coats her paws, and splashes her back. Yet, as she sees Kotori is uninjured, the scarred, bloody woman smiles warmly at her leader.
