Intellect Event
The plateau has become ungodly hot as of late, even for summer, but in the midst of the storm a large grass fire has broken out. The air quickly fills with a thick smoke, and visibility drops to nearly zero and the scattered metal on the field are too hot to even touch. The thick smoke is quickly filling your lungs and the heat is bearing down on you. Thunder rumbles overhead but it seems no fire quenching rain is forthcoming. it’s probably a good idea to try and get out of here quickly while trying to keep your smoke inhalation down.

Settling into Elysium was an easy feat for him, he was used to the usual pack duties for patrols and hunting. He liked exploring the newer lands of Boreas, or more new to him. He had traveled through some of these lands when he made the journey before. The hard part was being away from his family. He had Albi and Ruse, and Manea's family was welcoming enough. He felt like he fit in. He had just never been away from his father or the Queens who he called mothers for really any amount of time. The transition was as to be expected, difficult.
He was on a usual hunting trip outside the lands of Elysium when he came across the plateau which he noticed a drastic change in the surroundings around him. He couldn't remember ever being in this land before, but he knew something was amiss. As he walked in further on careful paws the smoke around him thickened and it was starting to get difficult to see. He had made the decision to turn back from where he came but as he started moving forward it seemed he had misplaced his steps and wasn't backtracking. It was starting to get harder to breathe but he wasn't panicked yet. He was pretty good at keeping his calm at least. It would be the best way out of here.

Bellamy had been hunting for Saga… a task in and of itself when her attention pulled in so many directions at once. It wasn't like she could look for long when she still has five young wolf pups to care for too. Sure she could have Gavroche sit with them but ultimately they still needed their mother frequently. Bells was worried but what else could she do? She was already fighting to secure them a home, running back and forth to the den, and now she sought Saga. It felt like her worries were never going to end… and for the first time since she returned to Gavroche Bells felt that cold, flicker of doubt in her belly. She had been so caught in her head that she hadn't been paying attention to just how hot it was here. She had traversed the plateau once before, surely it couldn't be too terrible to do again. Or so Bellamy thought. The signs of something being wrong came quickly and suddenly, thick smoke fielding across her vision. Bellamy froze for a second, gaze narrowing as the heavy air invaded her lungs. All at once she was aware of the heat, seeming to jump in intensity all at once. Her mind reels to the only logical conclusion; fire. "Shit!" Bellamy curses under her breath as she lowers her head. She hasn't been here more than padding through the one time and now she needed to navigate her way out of this area before the fire spread. Her ears pinned back against her skull as the smoke irritated her eyes. She couldn't afford to get hurt here. Her babies… Gav… they were counting on her to come home! |

The land that Kore and his siblings had been calling home since their family struck out from Fireside had suddenly been snatched out from under them. The trio of star-touched siblings had set out together in search of a new place to settle while sticking close. They are inseparable in their bond but they are still their own individual wolves and, in short, the siblings often separated with a promise to meet up later.
Today is one of those days and Kore slowly walks through this land he has seen before. He can practically taste the old blood spilled from the wars that had been fought here and his paws carefully pick their way around the strange metal objects. A summer storm darkens the sky, making the air feel like thick soup every time he inhales. Water molecules weigh down his fur, making him feel sticky and damp at the same time. His tongue slowly emerges as he pants in an attempt to cool himself off quickly.
Thoughts become sluggish and move at a snail’s pace as he squints against the sudden darkening of night, trying to remember where he is. An errant paw steps on one of the pieces of metal that jut out from the earth like broken bones and the boy lets out a loud yelp of pain as he recoils. Bring the paw toward his face, Kore narrows his eyes to see through the dark at the blistered pad, his mind trying to fit the puzzle pieces of some foreign problem together and failing.
Blue eyes move from the injured pad to the scorching hot metal he had touched, a vague sense of dread growing deep in his belly. Looking up, he spies horned figure for a split second between the black rolling fog and Kore opens his mouth to shout at them. However, as he sucks in a lungful of the thick air, Kore doubles over in a fit of racking coughs. The air feels like sandpaper on his throat and that strange puzzle that been unfocused finally comes into full view.
Panic grips his heart as the black smoke rolls over the land, obscuring his sight and making his eyes water. Lowering his head toward the ground, Kore sucks in a deep breath and the fog that had settled over his mind clears a little more as he gets so clean air in his lungs. Shit! It is a fire! There is at least one other wolf here too! Keeping his head low, the boy howls out a rallying call, urging any and every wolf in the area to gather on him. Maybe they can figure a way out of this together. The sky rumbles a deep, throaty warning to the wolves below, an ominous sign in this dark time.

As Cerberus stood for a moment, trying to decide what way would be best to get out of the smoke covered land, he heard a wolf cry out from the grounds under him. There were other wolves here. Usually he wasn't so friendly towards strangers, but he wasn't heartless. He knew he'd want someone to help him in a situation like this, so he wouldn't turn to ignore the howls of the young boy.
He kept his nose low to the ground which barely helped keep the smoke from his eyes or lungs, but he didn't breathe too hard and kept his eyes squinted while he moved slowly through the plateau. The boy wasn't far from where he was luckily and he was able to follow the sound of his voice.
He put a gentle paw on his shoulder, then offering him help up from the ground. "We need to find our way out of here. Maybe we should mark the ground where we've been." He was still unaware of the woman that was also here in the fire spreading lands. But he had no second thought for anyone else that could have been lost inside.

The woman couldn't make heads or tails of where she was going. Bells kept her head low but it did little to help the contaminated air that tried to get into her lungs. She stumbled forward, feeling heat radiating around her as she stumbled through the smoke. Dammit… she grumbled under her breath. She could hear someone call to those in the area through the smoke and flames. A familiar voice?
Bellamy coughed and spluttered, the smoke burning her eyes, making it hard to navigate as she tried to make it to where the other had called. She almost ran into the yearling before she found Kore and a stranger… just in time to hear the male's suggestion. "Any plan is better than none!" She felt like she was roasting… the smoke so thick she couldn't tell what direction the flames were. She kept her ears back against her skull.
Shame the second meeting with Kore couldn't be on happier terms.

The galaxy marked boy lay on his stomach against the slightly cooler grass, eyes squinting against the thick smoke. Tears steam freely from his eyes as the acrid air causes them hurt and burn his lungs at the same time. A cough racks his frame as a form resolves in front of him, an ethereal spectator in this dark and dismal place. Normally bright eyes turn up to the larger male, Kore’s blue gaze now red and bloodshot from the constant irritants in the air.
They clap him on the shoulder and their presence helps to ground Kore’s sluggish, but still racing, mind. With the stranger’s help, the boy colored with the cosmos stands, nodding to their suggestion when another voice chimes in. Head snaps around to find the kind wolf he had fought (Bellamy if his brain is still working) joining them. While the idea of marking the ground is a good suggestion, it would take too much time, forcing them to pause in might be crucial seconds.
Giving his head a shake in the negative, Kore says in a raspy voice, “Take too long. You grab hold of my tail. And you, grab hold of his!” Turning to offer his tail to the unknown male, he then gestures for Bellamy to quickly grab ahold of the stranger’s while saying, “We put the worst of the heat to our tails and run! No matter what, don’t lose your hold!” A sudden coughing jag steals the rest of the air from his lungs and the boy feels the area growing hotter by the second.
No matter what course of action the small group choses, they need to get moving quickly.

Cerberus was in a little bit of a jump scare as the woman seemingly came out of no where and joined them from inside the smoke filled plains. He wouldn't act much other than that, or really at all. There were more pressing matters at hand, it wasn't like he was going to fight someone in this mess with the smoke getting to his eyes and lungs. He'd sooner run at a threat here, he was smarter than building his ego.
He felt like he was doing significantly better than the two, but maybe it was because he was conserving himself which wasn't a hard feat for him. He wasn't in a panic yet, it was right on the edges but now that there were other's here it felt more doable to work together and find their way of of the soon to be flamed plains. He wasn't much for the boy's idea of grabbing hold of each other's tail and making a beeline for it. He after all had gotten lost just walking through the smoky air. But he supposed it was worth a try, he just hoped they wouldn't tire themselves out in the process because that wouldn't bid well on their lungs. He grabbed hold lightly of Kore's tail, putting his out for Bellamy to grab in chain. Hopefully the quick plan would work just enough for them to see daylight and make it home. The fire was no threat to Elysium this far out and on the far side of the mountains so he wasn't worried about bringing a group back to put it out. It wouldn't be his problem after they parted ways.

The smoke continued to flow, irritating her eyes, her nose, her throat. Every second spent there made Bellamy feel sick. She didn't care how they got out of there, so long as they made a run for it soon. Bellamy coughed, trying her hardest to keep her head on right. She wanted to run, to get out of here, to get back to Gavroche and her babies. She shuddered, squeezing her eyes closed as Kore said that the marking idea was no good. That would take too long. Bellamy felt her head whirl… they had to get out of here. They had to!
Then Kore suggested something else. A line? A way out. Bellamy gave a nod, forcing her stinging eyes open once more. "Let's do this." She didn't know who the stranger was but right now it didn't even matter. Bellamy turned to the man, grabbed hold of his tail. Her ears pinned to her skull and she gave a soft while. If the moved with the heat to their backs then surely they could outrun the fire, right?

As the thick smoke grows worse with each passing second, the wolves offer up plans of escape. The others seem to accept the galaxy boy’s idea and the large male grabs hold of his tail. A cough sputters out from his lips and he squints back down the line to make sure that Bellamy is ready. Her soft whine is answer enough and the boy snaps his head back around to turn the chain so that the worst of the heat is at their backs. Letting out a bark of warning that he is starting to move, Kore then lowers his head to be as close to ground as possible and strikes out.
Carefully, the boy begins to walk, threading his way between the scorching hot metal that lay embedded in the ground like small mines. His blistered pad reminds him, with each step, to avoid those traps as he squints against the smoke to try and pick them out. Visibility is practically zero and, even with his head lowered, Kore has to squint to make anything out. The sky grumbles its displeasure at them as the trio pull into a trot, Kore leading the group to the best of his abilities. The heat continues to build behind the group and the boy lets out another sharp bark before breaking into a run.
Three sets of paws thunder through the grassy, metal strewn land as Kore does his best to lead them all to safety. He adjusts their course as he goes, being mindful of where the heat radiates from and pulling the group away from it. It seems like days that they run, stumbling in spots but never breaking their chain. The smoke slowly thins and, as it becomes easier to see, Kore pulls the group faster and faster toward safety. Tears stream freely from his irritated, reddened eyes and coughs boom from his lips in rapid succession as the smoke finally clears.
Stumbling a little further out, the trio sink into the green grass and greedy suck in large lung fulls of clean air. Kore lays on side, letting the coughs shake his frame until he can suck in a deep breath. Exhausted, eyes hurting and throat sore, the boy suggests that the trio get as far away from this place as they can and seek out a healer if needed. With farewells, they disperse and go find safety; wherever that may be.

The smoke that covers the plateau fails to muffle the rising sounds of shouting that chases you as you flee from the grass fire, echoing long after the area is abandoned by anyone with the sense to stay away, cries of pain and triumph with no obvious source echo into the open hot summer air. Then all at once, they silence when a loud cracking explosion sounds from the middle of the plateau, the rain that was threatening overhead mercifully begins to fall, slowly clearing the smoke and extinguishing the fire. As the smoke clears a charred spot of land marks where the lightning struck only moments before, but more obvious than that is the large imposing statue. A canine figure of stone whose rough face somehow still manages to portray its confidence. "Hurry up you lot!" Calls a gruff voice as small creatures begin to swarm it with a fervor that implies they always knew this would happen.
