Kotori had headed into the steppes after seeing signs of deer slots along the ground and after a little while, he spotted their hoof prints. There wasn't much to hide behind in the form of trees in this big area but the stones and over any little hill could make surprises appear.
The deer smelled close. Kotori crept forward to peer behind a stone, expecting to find a lone deer and in a sense he did. It looked like the bear had just killed it, the animal still bleeding and lots of meat available to eat.

The grizzly roared in anger, standing over its kill, then walking towards Kotori. Apparently, it wasn’t content to just defend his prey. Well, Kotori hadn’t planned to let the bear keep it anyway. The bear charged and Kotori did the same. The wolf pivoted wide before the bear could lunge right on top of him. The wolf bit into a meaty shoulder, jumping away before the bear could grab him. Hah! It was upset now, but it’d calm soon. Death always took away the emotions after all.

The boy has lingered in the area of the stones, taking time to explore the various nooks and crannies while he can. Nimbly, Kore leaps atop a downed pillar, ears swiveling as the sound of a bear greets him. Black nose draws in the nearby scents and he finds there is a grizzly as well as, the earthen wolf he had fought with before. A grin splits his maw, lips pulling away from his sabers, and the boy barrels toward the fight.

He arrives in time to see the larger male bite into the meat of the grizzly’s shoulder but he does not stop his charge. With the bear distracted, Kore rushes forward and moves into the creature’s personal bubble. It roars at the wolf that injured it, not yet catching onto the fact that there is another wolf here. Using that to his advantage, the boy angles himself toward the side of the grizzly’s neck and leaps up, latching on for a moment. Saber teeth slice through fat and muscle but he is forced to retreat, avoiding a paw and bite as he flees.

Kotori gave the bear a stare-down, ignoring its roar.  The tip of Kotori’s tail twitched back and forth in a slow fashion.  This was his version of fun.  Even as he made ready to charge he spotted a wolf who was made of both darkness and splashes of light that leaped to attack the bear's neck.  Kotori didn’t stand around to see how effective the blow was however but ran to take advantage of the back end while the bear had to contend with what was in front of it.

Kotori slashed his horns through the thigh of the bear’s back leg, following up by biting into the slash he’d just created.  It was no more than a second or two after the bear had been attacked by the stranger.  Its attention didn’t directly move to Kotori and so Kotori put his paws onto the bear’s leg, bracing and ripping away a good chunk of flesh from the leg.

Yup, that had the bear’s attention.  The bear swung around faster than one imagined a bear could move, ready to charge down Kotori and the wolf politely backed up grinning wickedly.  The bear’s fast movements were pushing the blood out that leg all the faster.  Sure, he wouldn’t lose enough to die from it but it was going to take its toll at some point.

The boy cloaked in galaxies backs away, giving the bear some room as teeth flash toward at his face. It misses by a mile and, as the stranger slashes at the bear’s back leg with his horns, Kore watches the grizzly’s attention shift away from. Taking the opening, the boy nimbly rushes back in and leaps at the wound he had already opened. Sabers slice easily through the flesh, opening the wound even further and causing blood to leak out at an alarming rate.

As the beast roars in pain and rage, Kore disengages, effortlessly dodging a paw that swings for him as he moves away. With a snort of disgust, the galaxy-hued pup spits some of the bear’s blood from his mouth, putting on a show and drawing the grizzly attention to himself, leaving the creature wide open to an attack from the earthen-hued stranger.

Since Kore was doing a good job of keeping the bear's attention Kotori stalked around behind it before jumping onto its back, a nice straight easy path.  Kotori lunged his head forward, biting into the top of the neck.  Bite and rip followed by bite and rip.  It was enough to get the bear to try and throw him and Kotori leaped off as if it was his own idea.  

Kotori spun again to face the bear, grinning smugly.  It had raised up on its haunches a bit in raged reaction when Kotori had been on, as the bear came down there was a grunt and more blood coming from the leg wounds.  Blood was also clearly coming from where Kore was doing damage to its neck.

There would soon be one less bear to compete with for food.

Kore keeps the grizzly’s attention, allowing the earthen male to drop back and get onto the bear’s back. It roars as the other male rips into the top of the neck and quickly unseats its attacker, however, as it comes back down to the ground, the boy made of galaxies is there, waiting for it. Sabers flash through the air, seeking the wound that is already wide open on the beast’s neck and finds purchase. Blood loss is already taking its toll on the bear and it causes the grizzly’s attempt to try and avoid the attack to be too slow.

Teeth slice through meat, finding the important things underneath and, with a mighty shake of his head, Kore severs everything he can get ahold of. With the damage done, the boy backs away, watching as hot blood arches through the air and the grizzly grunts around the new hole in its neck. It lists to the side, eyes glazing as death takes hold and, with a might crash, the once great grizzly falls to the ground… dead. Looking to the earthen male, Kore lifts an eyebrow and smirks while using his tongue to lick off some of the blood that rests on his lips.
