Ruga followed the scent of a polar bear that he had caught lurking near their borders along side Keahi. Normally he wouldn't mess with such massive predators, but he had a plan for the plush, white coat they could get off of it and he figured it was probably better off to keep the big bear from staying near their territory with all the pups and such running around. If nothing else he was kind of at a loss for what else he could make for this "feast" that everyone had been talking about so this was a great excuse to get some interesting materials to work with. He had a knife strapped to his foreleg to use in the fight itself and to use in skinning it later. The bear at least had a smelly scent that was easy to follow. As soon as the polar bear came into view he glanced over at Keahi, giving her a little grin and whispering, "Ready?" before beginning to creep forward to get within range of it. The moment that the bear noticed their presence he charged forward into the fight, going for it's hind legs first and keeping it distracted so Keahi could get in a good blow.

"Ruga Amanto"

The scent of a polar bear near the pack’s borders have not gone unnoticed by the red woman. It is difficult to miss the musk that the huge, lumbering white creature leaves in its wake and, if Ruga had not wanted its pelt, Keahi would have already been at work chasing the beast from their lands. But he did want it and the tropical born wolf had decided to help him gather the materials… and maybe flex her fighting skills a little.

Polar bear armor is firmly in place as Keahi strolls with Ruga to where the great predator lumbers. Her own dagger is in place against her foreleg and she grins mischievously at the tall blacksmith as she whispers back, “Let’s do this.” Ruga creeps forward and the red woman breaks off, moving to position herself in front of the bear to strike it once the red man has its attention.

The fight kicks off and, as the bear turns its attention to the wolf attacking its hind legs, Keahi launches herself forward. Sprinting up and into the beast’s space, she leaps up to grab a sizeable chunk of fat and fur and swiftly removes it from the polar bear’s neck. Landing, she rushes back out of the bear’s attack range to ready for the next round of attacks.


"Keahi Mogotsi"

Keahi was quick to jump into the fray, something he was grateful for as he bit into the polar bear's ankles and the back of its legs while dodging some of its initial angry attacks. Those paws were massive and he knew it would be trouble if either of them got caught by them. Keahi went straight for the neck, earning a loud roar from the massive predator and drawing its attention away from him and toward his partner for a moment. He knew he wanted the fight to go as quick and clean as possible both to keep either of them from getting hurt and so that the bear's pelt would be as intact as possible for their feast decor. While it was focused on trying to reach Keahi to get revenge for the bite it was dealt, Ruga pulled the knife free from its sheath on the inside of his leg and leapt forward, driving the knife through the side of its throat with a firm swing. He quickly jumped back out of the way again as soon as he felt the blade drive home, narrowly dodging one of its massive paws that had swung out to try and knock him away, the large, curved laws just barely grazing his shoulder. He could see it was already stumbling back and struggling to breathe with the blood pouring heavily from its wound. All they really needed now was to finish it off.

"Ruga Amanto"

They dance with death, the polar bear trying and failing to fend off the two red wolves. She grabs the bear’s attention, ripping open a section of the bear’s neck before shuffling back out of range from a swinging paw. Keahi shifts her attention to Ruga as the blacksmith moves forward to drive his blade home and the red woman snarls and snaps in an effort to keep the bear’s attention on her. He strikes true, the blade biting deep puncturing the vital arties underneath.

Ruga jumps back, narrowly missing a swing of a clawed paw as red blooms across the pristine white coat. With a dip of her head and knowing the end is near, Keahi moves forward, easily dodging a sluggish swing of a paw as she moves to help fell the dying predator. Best to do it quickly so they can start draining the blood.


"Keahi Mogotsi"

With Keahi's assistance in making the final blow and ending their opponent, the massive polar bear made a slow fall to the ground with a heavy thud, completely still as the blood continues to pool around it's neck. He chuckled as he stepped up beside Keahi, giving her a grin and tipping his head down to give her ear a playful nip. "Good job. That bear didn't stand a chance between the two of us." He stepped forward and pulled his knife free before starting to shove the bear onto its side so he could make a couple more clean incisions on some major arteries so that the blood could start draining away before he went about removing its pelt. They certainly wouldn't be able to carry this whole beast back to the caves, but since they were practically within their borders he didn't feel any worry about taking his time with the task out here. "You know... I was thinking of making something out of this pelt for the feast, but now that I'm looking at it I think I might just want to keep it whole with the head and paws to make a bear skin rug." It would take some careful butchering to accomplish, but he had more than enough practice with this sort of thing to make it happen. "What do you think?" he asked curiously, tipping his seafoam gaze up to hers to get her opinion. Either way, he'd go ahead and start making a cut along the bear's throat and belly, following the inside of each leg until he was able to start cutting back the skin and pulling it away from flesh and muscle.

"Ruga Amanto"

The fight is over in the blink of an eye, the two wolves easily taking down the polar bear. Keahi grins as Ruga leans down to playfully nip at her ear, a laugh bubbling out into the air. Stepping up with him, they shove the bear onto its side so he can begin the process of skinning. Sitting back on her haunches, she puffs out a content sigh as she looks at their kill and then his words have her tilting her head in contemplation as a hum filling her chest.

A grin worms its way onto her lips as Keahi says, “Let’s do a rug.” Eyes are alight with mischief as she leans in, lowering her voice into a subtle purr as she adds, “Do you think that we could use it before we give it over for the feast?” A laugh booms out as she winks at the red man, moving to help him… wherever he needs her paws.
