This was...strange. He had woken up, so to speak. Finding himself within a land he hadn't seen in what felt like...well...he wasn't sure. He knew he was dead, or had...died. But he didn't know how much time had passed since. He felt different. Like he was here, but not. Strangely enough, he also felt weak. Hungry even. The late Ancoran male strode to partake in the feast that was happening, and when he was done, had wandered off to lands he hadn't seen in ages. A black sand beach stretched out in front of him, and he couldn't help but grin at the sight of it. In life, Dragon had been blind and battle-scarred. In death? His eyes were fine. He walked along the beach, listening to the waves up against the sand, though as he walked along the water's edge, the feeling of the water over his paws wasn't what he remembered. Hm. Interesting. Looking up, he spotted what looked like the figure of a pup. Curious, Dragon pressed forward, noticing the child was alone. "Hey! Shouldn't your parents be watching you?" Little did he know that he still wasn't very tangible in this world...

Nico spent a lot of time on this beach, which on its own might not seem notable.  The real trick of it was Nico wasn’t a member of the pirate crew.  The boy was Jack’s best friend and the two played together as often as possible.    Once, Nico use to wait at the border for Jack to tell him it was all clear to walk on the beach.  By this point, Nico easily had the smell of the pirates on him, member or not.  Plenty of the pirate wolves knew of his visits and that he was clearly friends with one of them.

Nico had the premium members pass basically to the beach and he often made use of it. Today he was waiting on Jack.  The boy let out a lazy yawn, watching the ocean, eyes keenly searching for the fish in it.  The boy wasn’t all that hungry but it was as if something in Nico’s mind had to always be ready to find food.  

Standing up, Nico made his way toward the ocean.  Dragon might not find a pup walking along of all that much interest but the fact the puppy walked straight through him might be a bit of a surprise unless Dragon had gotten out of the way of course.  The boy put his front paws in the beach water, lowering his head curiously but with a sigh turning to glance back at the ocean. “Jaaaack…” the boy growled in impatience.  “I should just go explore without you,” the pup muttered.  

"Niko"

He continued forward to close the distance between himself and the pup, but to his surprise, the pup didn't seem to notice him at all. Confused, the earthen male opened his mouth to say something, and before he could, the pup had walked right through him! "Wha-" Shocked, he turned around and heard the pup muttering about a Jack. He stood there, shook at what had just happened.

Turning around, he looked at the pup in puzzlement. "Hey, what's your name kid?" He asked, but it didn't seem like the boy could hear him. Maybe he was deaf? Banking on that, he kicked a shell in his direction to try and get his attention.

Nico was a restless, bored, frustrated pup.  Pretty much a normal state for a pup wanting to play and being kept waiting.  It was true, he clearly had no sense of a ghost being with him.  The boy turned to face the beach again, only to jump up in the air, a perfect vertical leap as a shell moved without any help.

Now Nico and Jack had both walked all about the area of one of the creepy statues.  Bones and blood had been all about and had given them both the creeps.  The boy searched around the sky for his bird friends wondering if they had played a trick on him.  Truth was, he knew that shell had gone sideways and not from above.  His birds definitely weren’t in front of him.

The boy stepped slowly to the shell, about to nudge it and then pulling his paw back. “Wonder if he’ll believe me,” the boy muttered softly.  His gaze swept all around again as if suddenly a reason for the moving shell would appear. “Heyyyy spiiiiiirit,” Nico singsonged in a whispery voice, “Need ya to do that to my friend alsooooo.  He’ll be here later.  Bigger shells to but uh, not at me, k?”  If you are going to get spooked and haunted then its better a friend be in on it.


"Niko"

Well he had gotten the boys attention somehow. Clearly the kid hadn't had him, but the shell had gotten his attention. Whatever was happening with him, he had a feeling the living wolves couldn't see or hear him. He sighed, hoping he could've had a conversation or gleaned some info on what new things had happened since his death. Were the kids he left behind still alive? They had to be right? He hadn't run into them in his world.

When the boy spoke again, Dragon found himself amused. Well, maybe the boy did figure out that he was here in some form. Maybe. He chuckled as he walked over to another shell, shifting that one and sliding it around in the sand in no particular pattern as of to indicate he would play along. Since the pup couldn't hear him, at least he could make his presence known in other ways.
