It very much seemed like a lot of her new nieces and nephews had taken after their father with his love of adventure and passion for exploring. It wasn't a love that she could really relate to, being the reclusive homebody that she was, but she did want to spend time with the pups and get to know them better so she was willing to at least go a bit outside of her comfort zone. She didn't want to go far, but luckily for her she didn't have to in order to find something interesting to explore. The unusual change in the seasons was actually a welcome one since it pulled them out of the Auster winter, but she couldn't help but worry that it was something sinister like the deep winter or the long night that they had previously experienced.

She did scout ahead a bit just to make sure nothing seemed too incredibly off before she brought one of her brother's children out here, but since it was within the pack's border and nothing seemed outrightly dangerous then she decided to give into one of their demands to go out and see a bit of the world. She ended up walking out to the plains with Thorn beside her, walking along a path that seemed to have been made through yellowing grasses that were scattered with fallen leaves of red, orange, and yellow. Even though there weren't that many trees in the plains there seemed to be a plentiful amount of leaves, really adding to the autumn world's atmosphere.

Thorn had never experienced the dangers of prior years when spirits or magic touched the land. The magic bubble of autumn seemed a wonderful treat and a thing to take for granted since it had happened so shortly after he had been permitted to roam and explore. Sure, Thorn knew it wasn’t normal by facts passed along but he had no personal experience to feel concern for it.

Thorn followed along with his aunt Gwyn, enjoying her company. Thorn was a social boy so any of his family or friends members of the pack were always welcome to explore with him. Thorn’s desire to observe and learn mixed with his puppy's desire to play. At points, he walked relaxed next to Gwyn just curious and trying to look at everything at once.

Those leaves though, they were hard to ignore. When one came by to drift on the wind Thorn had no choice but to jump up to either try and grab them in his mouth or pounce on them after they landed. Little pink flowers, those that wouldn’t normally be in the plains were blooming. Thorn paused to scent them, again unaware that they were abnormal. They weren’t as fun as the leaves. However, near the flower, he spotted a bunch of grass that seemed to have been knitted to form a nest. Peering in his ears perked up, “Hey look, Aunty!” Inside were two small eggs. Their parents were either around somewhere or had become food for another animal. All sorts of things were hidden in the grass!

As they went, she also began to pick up on the other things that had popped up with this unusual pocket of magical autumn. She paused whenever Thorn did to investigate along the path, peering at the flowers as he stopped to smell them. She didn't notice the nest until he pointed it out, however, and she peeked over the top of his head to see the small eggs it contained. "That's really neat," she agreed with a smile before gently guiding him away from the nest. "You don't want to mess with it though just in case their mother is still around. Wouldn't want to make her angry or scare her off, would we?" Honestly she didn't know if that was the kind of thing that would be entertaining to a pup or not, but hopefully not. Either way, she wasn't going to have him bothering the local wildlife on her watch.

As they passed by one of the few trees that dotted the plain, they crossed through a heavier scattering of falling, colorful leaves—more leaves than she logically felt could be falling from a tree this size. Maybe it wasn't something that Thorn would notice, but with her own suspicions about what was causing all of this it did make her a bit more wary about all the unusual effects it was having. She peered up into the tree through the branches and caught a glimpse of a few crows that were perched in the tree, bobbing up and down and making the limbs shake a bit, making the leaves fall faster and adding to the atmosphere that they were helping create. She raised a brow curiously, but didn't comment on them, instead deciding to just continue on so that she could get Thorn through their walk and back home quickly.

Thorn had been interested in the eggs for what they were but Gwyn called him back before he could think up if he wanted to play with them or not.  Gwyn said they didn’t want to scare or anger the mom.  What sort of bird would they worry about angering?  Was this some bird as big as Zeph to worry about such things?  The eggs seemed really small for that.  How fast did Zeph grow?  Then again maybe the eggs belonged to autumn magic birds?  Maybe his aunt just liked birds the way his parents seemed to enjoy them as pets.

When Gwyn put her attention on the tree Thorn likewise turned to look at it.  Their thoughts weren’t at all on the same thought.  While she wondered about all the unusual details of the autumn Thorn wondered how much fun it would be if he could climb into the three.  There were more autumn leaves in that tree and it just sounded like fun to shake them loose himself instead of how they just seemed to fall.

Thorn followed Gwyn to the tree, hopping up so that his front two paws rested on the bark.  “Hey, aunt Gwynn?  Can I climb oh you to get up into the tree?  I bet its fun to look around from up there.  I got really good balance, honest.”  This was too normal for Thorn.  Things had been like this since he was free to run and explore.  He might know it wasn’t normal but with a puppy sort of curiosity and bold nature he just took for granted all that seemed wrong, just finding the weather and the leaves fun to check out.

Gwynevere's attention was pulled back toward her nephew with a curious glance as he started asking her to use her as a way to reach up into the tree so he could look around from up there. Even if this hadn't been a strange, mystical patch of autumn with unusual crows perched in the trees she still never would have agreed to such a request, but considering everything she saw and the concerns she had it was definitely an even harder no. She had to admire his curiosity and boldness though. She couldn't ever remember having that kind of headstrong nature in herself, but she certainly remembered it in Artorias and it made her smile seeing his son take after him so strongly. "Not a chance," she said with a chuckle. She turned and started to nudge him back toward the castle. "Alright, I think that's enough for now. Time to get back to the others." This was more of an outing than she had been on in a good long while, but she was sure it wasn't going to be nearly long enough in Thorn's opinion so she fully expected the young pup's protests, continuing on and herding him back home all the same.

Not a chance?!  She had come up with that answer without any thought.  Thorn looked up into the branch wistfully for another moment and then Gwyn was saying it was time to go back.  “Go back?  We haven’t been out all that long!”

Thorn glanced all about the place.  “Just think, all this is weird and abnormal right?” Thorn tried to find an argument to get Gwyn to want to stay out.  “What if this doesn’t last forever?  The weather is perfect and who knows what secrets are out there we haven’t seen yet?”  Thorn looked about the plains and then back to Gwyn, “Just a few more minutes?  I’ve been out to the berry grove before so I promise I have enough energy, I won’t get tired out or anything.”

If that wasn’t enough Thorn would give his aunt the best big-eyed soulful puppy look he had in his arsenal.  “It’s more fun being outside when I’m with family.” The boy sighed, glancing down at another flower, quirking his head at three bees seemingly arguing over who got to land on that one for a minute.  He raised a paw as if about to shoo them away but thought better of it and put his paw back down.  Then his glance was back up at Gwyn.
