the holy ground burns my feet

All thanks to an over-zealous Fox Incubus found himself slithering through the pack lands to find a healer. With each small movement of his tail a twinge of pain moved through him. It was just a sprain, but the pain was enough for him to be rather agitated. The tail was incredibly important to a Wolf. It provided balance and moved involuntarily through emotion and instinct. Thus, he was in constant pain and was trying to best to not move it as much as possible. Incubus didn't want such a trival injury to stop his momentum. He had just reconnected with his family via joining the Empire once again and was seeking to at least get bumped up to a slightly more involved rank. A soldier or scout. Whatever Venom desired more of, really. - Some herbs to help with the pain would really help him. After finding a nice clearing the male decided to lift his head to the sky and call upon the packs' healer. He didn't feel comfortable going seeking anyone out just yet. He thought they should meet in open grounds before all that. |
Seere is out enjoying the beautiful day, running a patrol around the Ashen lands when a call for a healer rings out. Ears lift and the small girl’s head swivels around to face the direction of the summons, her body quickly turning to point her toward the injured wolf before she sets off at a trot. The voice does not sound familiar but her aunt had mentioned there were some new wolves that had joined them and the monochrome girl figures it must be one of them.
It does not take long until the wolf who issued the call comes into view and she allows her mismatched gaze to do a once over of a large male who stands in a clearing. Seere happily trots up to the injured wolf, her posture is relaxed as she approaches him with her bag of healing items slung across her back. When she gets close, the healer introduces herself, “Hello! I am Seere Abraxas-Destruction, Apothaker for the pack. How can I help?”
While she speaks, the small girl’s eyes roam over his form, taking note of the tension toward his back end and lack of movement from his tail. Kitsune had instilled in her that a visual inspection is an important first step in diagnosing patients and she waits for him to tell her what is wrong before moving ahead.

Incubus sat down as he waited but it really did not take long for someone to make an appearance. A small monochromatic femme made her way to him rather promptly. Pink and blue eyes followed her until she was closer and an introduction slipped from her lips. Seere Abraxas-Destruction. He silently wondered if this was another niece or cousin or what have you. The pack was littered with his kin. Incubus lowered his head in a small nod and a small grin slipped across his lips. Honestly he was pretty happy to finally get some help with his tail and meet the pack's healer. He was focusing on fighting training lately and it would be best to be on good terms with the Apothaker. "Incubus Klein." A pause. "My tail got smashed by a chunk of metal a few days ago and honestly I thought I could just deal with the pain. But, every time I hit it on something or even move it too much the pain shoots through my tail and even up my back sometimes." He sat still in case she wanted to examine the appendage. "Are there any herbs that could at least tone down the pain a bit? Or any recommendations on how to make it heal faster?" |
Seere smiles brightly to the injured wolf, dipping her head in a respectful bow as he introduces himself. Incubus then goes on to explain what happened to his tail and the girl winces in sympathy, immediately trotting around to where the appendage is. Sitting down, she gently begins to probe his lower spine, instructing, “Okay tell me where exactly the pain is and how bad it feels. I will be as gentle as possible but uh, this is still going to hurt. Sorry.” Small paws slowly move down along either side of his spine, prodding as softly as she can will still being able to feel the boney structure underneath.
Face screwed up in concentration, the small monochrome girl makes it to the spot where the tail sprouts from his hind end. Noticing how tender the area is, she immediately pulls her paws away, saying, “Well, the good news is you’re right, it is sprained. The bad news is you’re right and it is sprained.” Moving to come and sit in front of him, Seere shrugs off her bag filled with herbs and begins to riffle through it as she continues to talk, “I will give you some herbs to help with pain and to help you sleep. Unfortunately, there isn’t much else I can do unless you want me to splint your whole backend.”
A giggle bubbles out as she pulls out a small bundle of leaves and holds them aloft for Incubus to see, she says, “Marshmallow and cannabis. These will help with the pain right now. Eat them and when the pain lessens a bit, we can talk about how to treat this.” Pushing the herbs toward him, the small girl waits for the wolf to ingest the leaves and watches for the telltale signs that his muscles are relaxing before she continues on.

Incubus braced for impact as Seere gave her instruction. The male clenched his teeth as her paw ran down his spine. She'd likely feel how tense he was during the process but Inc didn't move. That is until she got to to the tail itself. A small flinch could be seen as she got to the sore spot, "There." A pause. "On a scale of one to ten I'd say a six, pain wise." - Thankfully the prodding ceased and Seere offered a diagnosis. A sprain. Just as he suspected. - Incubus nodded as his features returned to a wash of neutral, despite the lingering pain in his tail. A small laugh was heard in response to her joke about wrapping up his entire rear. He shook his head, "As appealing as that may sound... I will take the herbs." Incubus flashed her a small playful grin before focusing on her explanation. Marshmallow and Cannabis, simple enough. - Pink and blue eyes scanned the herbs with curiosity for a few moments. "How often should I take them?" They seemed harmless but he didn't want to poison himself. |
Paws palpate down the man’s spine, immediately pulling away when she hits the tender area and he lets her know. Humming thoughtfully for a moment, Seere gives her diagnosis before moving around to sit in front of Incubus. She jokes about splinting his rear end and he shakes his head, pulling a giggle from the girl as he flashes her a playful grin.
Presenting the herbs, she scoots a small portion toward and says, “Eat these now and it will help the pain. Fair warning, they are bitter so for the rest…” monochrome paws pull out a small wrapped bundle of the herbs, as she continues, waving them around before setting them in front of him, “I recommend steeping one of the big cannabis leaves with three of the smaller marshmallow ones. Just heat up some water, put the leaves in a bottom of a cup and pour the hot water over them. Okay?”
Looking over Incubus, alarm suddenly flashes across her features as she says, “Oh don’t drink the hot water! Let it cool off a bit before you try to drink it.” Phew, that could have been bad. “So, the best course of treatment for a sprained tail is sleep. You need to rest and do your best not to move it too much. Think of this way, the more you move it, the longer you will have to rest.”
She lifts an eyebrow, trying to do her best ‘mother stare’ on the older wolf. It doesn’t last long as she giggles and says, “You can drink the tea with the leaves every six hours for the pain but don’t drink more than four cups in one day.” Shuffling things around in her bag, the small healer shrugs her bag back on as she says, “I’ll come by and check on you later today and help you brew the first batch of tea. I can bring some extra furs too so you will be comfy! Oh, uh… where is your den, Incubus?”
Seere’s head tilts in curiosity as she realizes that she needs to know that piece of information so she can check up on her patient.

Incubus eyed the herbs presented to him for a moment before leaning down to give them two sniffs. He flicked a glance to the yearling as she told him to take them now, with a bit of a warning about their taste. With a small, slightly dramatic, wrinkle of his nose Incubuse took the herbs into his mouth and chewed. Bitter indeed. The grimaced as he quickly swallowed them and shook his head. "Foul." Thankfully Seere continued on to explained how to prepare the herbs in the future. A tea. He'd never attempted a tea before but if it helped him get out of pain he'd surely try it out. The words that followed were perhaps worse then those bitter herbs. Bed rest, essentially. Another small wrinkle of the nose was seen before a solemn nod. He had been working hard to progress in the pack as well as in the battle ring. A set back like this was not in the books. But, if it meant he'd get better sooner then later he supposed he'd at least attempt to follow her orders. "I do not idle well." A pause as he sighed. "But, since you seem to be a rather competent healer I suppose I'd be daft to not follow your instruction." A little grin was seen then, showing his sorrow was mostly dramatics. He did not want the poor girl to think he was upset with her. Seere offered to not only help with the first batch of tea but also offered to bring some furs for his den. His brow raised gently in response, "Oh you don't have to do all of that, love." A pause as he laughed, "Well, actually I may need help with the tea. That sort of stuff is not my forte." Incubus thought for a moment on how to explain the location of his den. As he began speaking her lightly flicked his nose in the direction of his den. "Due north of the Shrine just before the Rio. I'm sure you can scent it out once you are close enough, or just call for me and I can guide you the rest of the way." Incubus stood with a little huff and offered Seere a small smile. "Thank you, Seere. You are incredibly good at what you do." His voice was sincere and rather matter of fact. A true and unmotivated compliment from the brute. "See you soon." With that the male carefully picked up the herbs in his mouth, allowing them to lightly rest between his teeth, and moved towards his den. |
