Stocking up

With Autumn marching on toward Winter, Legacy had ventured from Valhalla to seek out herbs to bolster her stores and plant so they’d sprout in the Spring next year.

She’d donned her harness with its pouches, informed Ardyn and her mother of her trip, and set off at a brisk traveling trot.

She knew the way well, by now, having come here often for gathering and stargazing.

Amethyst-sparked sapphire eyes scanned the foliage, seeking out plants to gather as her black-toed paws picked their way through the grasses and onto a trail worn by elk and wolves alike.

She paused as she spotted a good first find and bent to examine it. Soapwort could be boiled to produce a lather to clean wounds with, but it also had plenty of good internal medicinal uses.

Delicately, she began digging to expose the root. There were seeds, as well, but there were enough plants here that she could take both a few roots and a packet or three of seeds to take home and plant.
