Eramaya of Valhalla

Her paws turned gently at the soil, digging up the tubers – yams and regular potatoes – and lightly flicking them over to their respective piles. Both would be used for food to add variety to the pack’s meals if they wanted it. While wolves were primarily carnivores, the occasional cooked yam or potato wouldn’t be bad. There were nutrients to be found there.

Eramaya moved on to the carrots. They hadn’t grown especially large, but they’d do. It was still somewhat of a novelty to have her roots set down instead of traveling the majority of her life. It was nice, though, being able to have a designated garden for herbs and plants that she could tend from a seed and harvest when it was ready.

A life of travel with intermittent stays didn’t cultivate a permanent garden, so often the plants that thrived best in such care had to be traded for.

As much as she missed her children, they were grown and she was content with her lot in life.
