Sparrow and crew returned victorious from the markets. The way back had been uneventful and restful as travel could be expected to be. Everyone was feeling pretty good about their accomplishments, but Sparrow was already thinking onto the next thing. Soon, the pups would be old enough to raid, and she needed them to be ready. If they trained well, they could easily become the bane of everyone's existence. Who needed allies and trade routes when you could just raid for whatever?

Coming onto the beach, Sparrow called all the kiddos to her. She held aloft a small basket of items, "Alright, kiddies! So the adults are gonna come here and then you guys are gonna launch an attack on us. Whoever wins gets the basket of goods. Who's it gonna be? Kids or adults?"


OOC: All eligible pups and adults join by 11/19 for a free for all mock puppy raid!

We will have 1-2 round dominance matches with the same rules as raid, but it's not a real raid obviously. Feel free to melee. Pups SHOULD probably outnumber the adults and be able to pull their two wins. Feel free to plot out your win/loss if you don't want to do the fight training for skill points. In the end, I assume the adults will be tired and relent to the pups so they can rest and watch the kids enjoy their treats.

The adults had locked all the pups in the ship before they had left to go do fun stuff. It feels so unfair that they needed to be locked away while they get to go fight but the pups have found a way to entertain themselves. Calico lounges inside, stretching and letting a yawn roll out as he feels completely tuckered out from the fashion show that they had put on. Nico is close by and has seemed to be enjoying himself even though he is among the wolf pups and that makes Jack extremely happy. Who knows, maybe his coyote friend will consider being a pirate with him!

A howl chases away any thoughts of sleep and the patchwork pup leaps up to his paws and immediately charges toward the locked door. Mom is calling for all the pups and Cal will be damned if a stupid door is going to in his way. Luckily, someone is there and unlocks it, allowing the door to swing wide open right before Jack would have smacked his head full force into it. Paws push the pup onward, racing down the familiar hallways and out into the world beyond.

When he hits the sands of the beach, Cal puts on an extra burst of speed, racing for all he is worth, until he spies the triumphant adults sauntering up the beach. A happy bark fills the air as he nears them, skidding to a stop in front of his mother with his tail wagging slowly behind him. Once everyone has gathered, Sparrow lays out the challenge and Calico Jack laughs joyfully. A grin splits his maw as he issues the dare, “Oh come on, you know we are going to kick your butts!” Icy blue eyes sparkle with the daring certainty of a child and he looks to his fellow pups to see what they think.


"Calico Jack"

Ajax had been a little disappointed that he couldn't join the last raid, but it seemed as though Sparrow was willing to make up for their patience. Though certainly not first on the scene-swift pawed Jack had beaten him quite easily-he arrived on time, more or less, grinning all the while. By now he was growing into his tall and lithe form, horns pointy and the blade in his tail nearly fully fledged. Almost ready for use. It didn't ache quite as much either, the growing pains settling down like the tide rolling out to sea, so he was a happy boy. All smiles and bright eyes as he came to stand beside his brother. Raising his head he took a sniff, tried to work out what was inside the basket. "I'm ready!"He cheered, butt wiggling in anticipation.

He had been waiting for the day when he was old enough to raid like his parents. Granted this raid was just for the puppies to practice, but good enough to him. Scald eagerly followed his father out onto the blackened sand where Sparrow and the other pups had gathered. Seeing Jack and his best buddy Ajax already there, he could feel the excitement beginning to build.

Racing ahead of his dad, Scald rushed over to where Sparrow called to them. Eagerly listening to her words, he let his tail swing excitedly back and forth and his quills bristle slightly. “We’ll definitely win!” Scald chirped as he tossed a glance back at his dad.

Gil was still riding high on the pride of his promotion and their victory over the Armada. Showing those assholes who was boss never felt better! So of course, not wanting to let his own pups down, he had agreed to participate in the raid. Someone had to teach them some skills, right?

Leading Scald out to the beach, he smirked lightly as the colorful pup rushed on ahead. Taking his time as his bones felt more sore than usual as the weather got cooler, he gave Sparrow a nod once he was close enough. Looking to the pups he had gathered, he wondered which ones had some skill already. They all looked determined and tough like any other pirate, just a tad smaller.

”Count me in!” Rexx called out to his sibling and father with a confident bark, his tusked lips drawn up in a cocky grin as his heavy front limbs drew him towards the growing group. Sparrow’s announcement reached his ears even from afar, and he wasn’t about to sit back at such an opportunity. The pups, having a chance to attack the adults? For that big basket of goodies? His gaze barely flickered over the basket though, his nub tail wagging furiously to see his friends, Ajax and Calico Jack already present too. Maybe they’d all get to work together to clamber over the grown-ups and win the raid for sure! The boy stopd near his brother while eyeing his father with a mischevious look, hopping in place as he could barely contain his excitement. "speech"

He was quite irritated that he hadn't been allowed to go raiding with the adults, but none of the pups had been allowed to. He was part of the youngest Pirate litter, but his stubbornness and pride kept telling him that he was capable of fighting, though he was sure the other pups had the same sentiment. He was lying there sphinx style when Sparrow called and the door was opened, Calico Jack was the first out the door and Diablo eventually followed suit once the clamoring to get out had died down. He followed after the rest, eventually spotting his father standing among the group of victors and when the Pirate King mentioned what they'd be doing today, Diablo was beyond excited! "We're gonna win, obviously!" But first...they needed more pups, no? He glanced around, where were Rivin and Aresenn?

They returned from their victory against the Armada, and like Gil, he was proud and feeling good about beating those Armadan assholes! Sparrow had whooped Azure's ass, and he had beaten Sirius after Sirius managed to get a win over Sparrow. While that had been unfortunate, Ignis had managed to return the favor and now they were back and doing a mock raid for the kiddos. He knew they weren't too happy about not being able to come along, but at least this way, they could learn a thing or two. While he was sore from the fighting and the journey back, he still had some energy left to volunteer for the mock raid. He spotted Diablo among the group and flashed him a grin. Now that he decided that his search for that bitch and his kid was over, he could put more time and effort into teaching the ones that were here. "Ignis"||"Blödhgarm"

They returned victorious from their raid against the Armada, and honestly, he was surprised he had managed to pull off a couple of wins. Granted, the first one was a fluke but still, he'd take it! Not only that but he'd been promoted! Something else he hadn't expected at all considering he'd been pretty lazy about even trying to get promoted. When they got back, Sparrow announced a mock raid for the kids that had been left behind, and practically being an old kid himself, he decided to volunteer and help teach the kids a thing or two. He stood by, grinning as the kids excitedly showed up, though raised a brow as he began counting. Hey, weren't there more than this? He was pretty sure the kids outnumbered the adults in the pack. where were the rest of them?

"Speech"

had been boring. While he did stay on the ship the majority of the time ... he hadn't exactly followed the rules wholeheartedly. But nothing bad happened, and he was where he was supposed to be when they did finally return. So did it really matter? Aresenn didn't think so. A lot of the pups fought their way out the door as soon as they heard the call. His amber gaze found the form of his brother as he darted out. Though, Aresenn would casually stroll out to the beach whenever he saw the opportunity.

Sparrow stood out on the beach with a basket of goods, standing apart from the pups and the seemingly victorious adults. She went on to describe a mock raid of sorts. One that he was excited to participate in. Aresenn found his father among the wolves already gathered. His perceived accomplishment influenced a sense of pride to well in the pit of his gut. He wished he had been there to at least see the fights.

The young Praetor boy was vaguely aware of the exchange of trash talk, but he was content to observe. Participate when it came to his turn. Keeping to himself, he came to the outer edge of those gathered. He reclined to his haunches and patiently awaited further instruction.  

The adults had returned at last and the children had been set free of their boaty prison. It hadn't been too bad, Rivin supposed, though she had spent time away from everyone else brooding. If she had been left out of the boat she definitely would have gone flower picking in the neighboring land. But now curiosity drew the red-streaked pup out. She padded over to where Sparrow was speaking to everyone, her ears giving a thoughtful twitch. An attack on the adults huh? Rivin grinned. Victory would belong to the puppies that day, of that she was sure! Eagerly Riv lowered her front half into the sand, gaze sweeping across those she'd have on her side. She was sure there were other pups but this lot would have to do for their attack. All they had to do was wait for Sparrow's call. "Talk," 'Think.'

The pups came to her as she called, Calico Jack and Ajax appearing first. Sparrow tossed a motion towards Gil, "Jack, Ajax, team up on Gil!" Next was Scald and Rexx, who Sparrow directed the other way, "You two on Ignis!" Diablo and Aresenn came in next and Sparrow braced herself, "And Aresenn and Diablo on me!" Her pup teetered in last, Rivin just before him. "And last two on Ares!"

With that, each adult would take on two pups. It seemed fair, Sparrow thought. She passed the goods to Friar and braced herself for her two opponents. She looked each of them up and down before sinking into stance and letting out her best rippling growl, just so they'd think she was serious. Spoiler: she was not, in face, serious at all, and intended to give the pups the spoils no matter what.

He didn't care too much to rush and get his fur all mussed up in the process, even when it was his mother calling. They had gone on some big sweaty gross fight to go get who-knows-what and Kashi couldn't even imagine what they might need. In his puppy mind, they had everything they could ever want and no stinky other pack would have anything better probably.

He did eventually show and Sparrow immediately pointed him to Ares to fight for some goods. He DID like goods but fighting an old man? Ares could practically sit on them and quash them if he wanted! Death by quashing didn't sound SO bad, though, and goods sounded VERY good, so... Kashi reasoned for a moment then decided it might be worth getting mussed after all.

He launched at Ares and, ever the one to think ahead, aimed to slam himself into the man's front right leg. Kashi figured that would stop him for now. "Rivin, I'll hold him, you attack!"

The pups are quick to arrive, eager to find out what Sparrow has in store for them. A challenge is thrown down and many of the kids claim that the pups will leave here with the victory, Calico Jack among them. A smug, excited grin tugs at the corner of his lips as mom rattles off the pairs and their opponents. The patchwork pup’s eyes automatically move to his brother and offers him a wink, eager to fight alongside his sibling. No way Gil is going to beat them! As the other pairs are mentioned, Jack looks to first Aresenn and then Rivin, offering them both wide, encouraging smiles.

Suddenly, the fights kick off, Kashi quickly devising a plan and voicing it to Rivin. Looking to Ajax, Calico Jack offers a sly smile, eyes flicking toward where Gilgamesh stands trying to telegraph his thoughts to his fox-hued sibling. Jax is taller than Jack and the pup thinks to use that to their advantage. Just in case his brother isn’t wearing his mind reading helmet, Jack shouts, “Get on his back, Ajax!” With that, his paws push against the sand and Calico Jack rockets forward, moving straight for Gilgamesh.

As he closes the gap, Jack gives a sharp whistle and Jolly Roger, the pup’s blue and yellow macaw companion, appears from the sky, diving in toward Gil. The bird is faster than the pup and is first to arrive, flaring out his wings and aiming to try and distract the big adult by harassing his face. Jack angles to go around Gil, moving up to his shoulder while he is hopefully preoccupied. Teeth strike out, aiming to try and grab the big guy’s ankle and pull it backwar in an attempt to get the mottled wolf off balance. Maybe Ajax will chance to topple him and bring the guy down to their level.

"Calico Jack"

There was still a lot that Ajax could learn about fighting, natural talent could only get him so far, so this was the perfect chance to get some more practice in! That and spending time with the people he liked the most, friends and family alike, the line so blurred it was hard to tell where one category started and where the other ended. Either way, he was real pumped to have an opponent like Gilgamesh, he was big and strong and really tough! But with his bros help they'd be able to beat him up, surely? Meeting his sibling's gaze, Ajax sadly wasn't wearing his mind reading helmet today, but was quick on the draw. Quick enough to kick into action as he launched himself at the dappled man, he was near about fully grown, still a little gangly in the limbs but from the looks of it wasn't gonna get any thicker or taller. Gilgamesh was a little shorter than him, not by too much, but hopefully enough to be squished to some degree. Surely. It was far easier said than done to just climb onto his back, it wasn't like their opponent was gonna let him just climb aboard. But Ajax had his ways, a rough plan was forming in his mind as he attacked from the side, his right shoulder seemed like a good staging spot as any.  Reaching out with kitty claws, he swiped at the air, aiming to gain purchase or even to give him a good wallop to distract him enough for Cal to get his chomp on. Sparrow was quick to tell them what they were here for and what they were going to do. He grinned when she said he and his brother were going up against the Pirate King herself. His tail wagged for a moment before he got semi-serious, lowering his head as his dad taught him before charging. Sparrow was taller than them still, but Diablo was sort of used to trying to fight larger opponents since his own dad was also much bigger than him. He came head-on, head lowered to ram into Sparrow's chest while his left forepaw aimed to grab and hold onto Sparrow's right forepaw in an effort to restrict her movement. They were to take on the adults, and that was all well and good. Riven had yet to have an official spar with anyone but she was ready to go all in and start doing some damage. Whereas Sparrow did not take things seriously, Rivin took them very seriously. She widened her stance, floofing her fur and what felt natural to her. Her ears fell back and her eyes narrowed. Kakashi ran in first, ready to hold Ares in place while she could attack. Fine with her. She charged for the man’s other leg, parting her jaws as she attempted to lunge forward and chomp down on his leg. Thankfully she didn’t try to headbutt, though she had considered that for a moment. "Talk," 'Think.'

Once enough of his pack mates had gathered, the pirate king was quick to divide them into teams. As she went down the list, and paired him with his brother, a cheshire grin crossed his features. Aresenn jumped to his paws and quickly began to approach Sparrow with tension in his muscles. Widening his stance, he circled around Diablo wide, to cross over and come at Sparrow's left side. After Diablo initiated his attempt, Aresenn made the decision to come at the woman running. At the last moment, he thrusted his left shoulder forward into her's in hopes of knocking her off her balance while Diablo.

Diablo charged and Sparrow was impressed with his willingness. Either he knew she wasn't a threat or he was dumb- which... he WAS a pup, so he could just be an idiot. He lowered and slammed into her chest, gripping onto her foreleg. His brother was more careful, circling and watching for a moment before dashing in. He came to her left and rammed into her side. Sparrow didn't try to fight it- it was a good tactic and they were working together well. She rolled with the hit to her right, but before fully letting loose, she aimed to hook Diablo with her right foreleg (the one he held onto), and to grip whatever part of Arsenn she could, intent to bring them down with her as she rolled dramatically and forcefully to her right, like an alligator with fresh prey.

Gilgamesh had been in plenty of fights before. Multiple raids, spars, practices, even had bested Sparrow once, but this was different. As he stared down the two boys deemed his opponents, he nearly... hesitated. He couldn't possibly go full swing at the lads. They were just pups after all, even if they would grow to be nearly his size and larger. Either way, he knew he had to do as much as he could to help teach them a lesson! Bracing himself, his vibrant yellow eyes watched as the spotted one came barreling toward him first.

Hearing the beat of wings in the air coming toward him as Jack came closer, Gil smirked. Puppy raid or not, he would never come unprepared without his faithful companions. Erish, his owl, swooped down to block the distraction of Jolly Roger, leaving Gil open to focus on the two pups that had screeched something about getting onto his back. Did they not see the crystals jutting out from his spine? Gil's brow furrowed, unsure why they would go that route, but nonetheless, he stood firm as Jack attempted to grab for his ankle.

"Not so fast," he rumbled as he skirted a step away from Jack to avoid the bite and in return aimed to wallop Jack upon his head right between the ears. Sure enough, that had at least distracted him enough to almost forget about the foxy looking one that approached his other side. Turning his head just in time, he watched as sharp claws raked along his side. "Hey!" Gil snapped as his lips peeled back and teeth snaked forward to attempt to nip at Ajax's paw.
