While the gentle hills of the prairie grew into something more dramatic, the lush greenery flourished- even within the gentle grace of autumn.  As to no surprise, Coran had never seen nor heard of this little paradise. It was cleverly tucked away, hidden in some foothills that did a fine job of protecting their eden. The alabaster brute was quite sure the view from atop the ridge lines would be unparalleled- but at the same time, he was certain that it wouldn't be the same as winding his way through the valleys- scoping out the different flora that remained even so late in the season. He was by no means a healer or a gardener, but if something unusual caught his eye, he wouldn't hesitate to collect a specimen to return to Valhalla on the chance it could be of use.

It seemed that he wasn't the first to take a walk through the garden. He traced a game trail that ran a path of least resistance, beaten down by prey and predator alike. It made things easy in a sense of not having to put much thought into traversing the ground, allowing him more opportunity to enjoy his surroundings. It was always difficult for him to put his responsibilities on a back burner- but that, of course, was the reason for this excursion. And this was certainly the most at peace he had felt in several weeks.

The wound on her hind leg was healing alright, but Sanna wasn't sold on the way it smelled. There was no telling what would attract predators, an idea that made her a bit sick to her stomach. She needed to find something to pack the rest of the bandage with, something to go between the layers that would hopefully prevent anyone from taking too much interest. Anyone, especially anyone dangerous. All the danger in Sanna rested below the surface, and that was inherently dangerous. Danger this, danger that. Spend your entire existence trying to avoid the danger so you can see another day.

Her head was loud as she made her way across Fern Gulley. The danger kept things exciting, interesting. Maybe it was the danger that had kept her alive. How was she supposed to feel alive if she wasn't reminded of that fact. Somewhat constantly reminded. Sanna could let it be loud in here, for now. Better they be loud than silent when she was on her own. Sanna would keep herself company.

The shifting of the wind brought the scent of another wolf. Alone, but not for long. A threat? Maybe. Could be a threat. Though Sanna was typically on high alert, the presence of a stranger would push it even higher. Nearly holding her breath as she tired to figure out just how far away he was, and stock still. It seemed he was taking the softly-beaten trail somewhere to the left, several yards off. Though Sanna pretended to still be looking through the herbs, she was wary of the stranger that lurked in the tall grass.

He hadn't been seeking out anything that afternoon other than a casual exploration of territory that he had never seen to quiet his mind from his pack duties. However, as the breeze shifted momentarily, it brought the scent of old blood Curious. The source could have been a variety of things. The remnants of a carcass, afterbirth from a lesser creature, or perhaps ... a nearby wolf in distress. Coran was by no means a trained healer, but a wolf that spent a lot of time on his or her own needed to know the basics of how to keep a wound properly dressed. And the desire to offer assistance where it might be needed ran thick in his Adravendi lineage. Even if it were just to put a wretched creature out of its misery.

The direction that the scent had come from drifted through the cover of the thick grass off to the side of the game trail he followed. Not wanting to invade the privacy of whoever it concealed, he hesitated outside the growth. Just as he cleared his throat to spring- and bring attention to himself- the wind shifted once more in his favor. Beyond the scent of a wound, he was given a hint that indicated a woman. "Excuse me, miss." He started, his thick baritone voice as gentle and politely concerned as he could manage. "Are you alright?"

Of course, he would not force his assistance on her. If she commanded him away, he would respect her wishes. However, he couldn't allow himself to pass her by without an offer at the very least.

Sanna's attention shifted as she realized he wasn't quite going away. No, not going away at all. Curious for a long moment. Her heart beat in her chest, a familiar thing, but there was far more out here that was unfamiliar. Sanna herself is unfamiliar here, a stranger to the land and its people. A stranger to its customs. Though it seemed to be a melting pot of different wolves and their customs, thus far she'd mostly met the more warlike. That was fine-- more than fine. She was more than fine with that. Those are the ones she understands best.

Maybe that's why the stranger's gentleness caught her off guard. She did her best not to narrow her eyes in his direction. Instead it was a careful breath, and then another, her head lifting from her herbs. An expression that resembled friendly as her gaze landed on the pale man. His distance was respectful, something Sanna could be grateful for... though she wasn't quite sure why. If he meant her harm, he could just as easily start at a distance. And still... there's nothing to indicate he would mean her harm. Not yet, at least.

"I'm fine," shit, was it really that bad? Was it bad enough for someone else to know? That could only spell danger for Sanna. Her pulse picked up, heart throbbing unsettlingly in her chest. "Just uh, looking for herbs. Slim pickings, with the weather and all." It wasn't quite a lie, but it was certainly a half-truth. That was fine, though. Sanna could tell a half truth to a stranger. She did her best to offer a smile. "Am I in your way?" Right. Better to be polite. Better to pretend she had manners, was a civilized creature. Better to put on a polite face. She's trying.
