The night was young, cold and cloudy. The wind flew hard against the barren lands of the terrain, and while the moon rose high into the heaves, a wolf walked as it carried a young pup between his jaws. Cold eyes and with something on his mind, mercy was out of the question today. Not even his own child will enjoy it. He had enough of this girl, a girl nor worth his and his wife's time. She talked too much for her own good, and he couldnt afford that for survival. And even though he could have just killed her quick and swiftly. But he had a better idea, he was going to let her out here, at the mercy of predators or even the elements themselves . He didnt want to make the job himself.

The pup fought back, she was furious and the anger in her was taking control of her. Sighing the male dropped her with little care about the fact that it could hurt her. She wasnt of his concern any longer. "I am done of you little shit." And like that he started walking away. Junko confused cried out. "I don't need you!"

Lyra saw the wolf travelling for the battlefield with the pup in his mouth a little while back. He looked determined, trotting along the way he was, and the pup was attempting to fight his hold on her. She didn't budge, as she was a mere pup and he was a fully grown adult wolf... smaller than her, but still an adult wolf. And this pup was particularly small... well, okay, she actually wasn't entirely certain. She didn't spend much time around young puppies, and this was a young puppy. Undersized, oversized, right sized, she wasn't certain. But certainly not old enough to be determinedly carried towards.. somewhere.

Carefully, she trailed them. She stayed far enough back to not be seen, and attempted to stay downwind. Either the male didn't care or didn't notice and she was left alone. Quickly, it became clear that the male was headed for the battlefield. What on earth? Why? That made her even more determined to trail them. She paused as the pup was unceremoniously dropped on the ground, and frustration flared through her. What? Why?

Without hesitation she approached the pup, pausing and looking down at her. "I'm Lyra. What's your name?" Her tone was a bit softer than normal, but still strong; she wasn't going to treat this puppy like it was totally incapable of conversation. Emotional regulation? Nah. Always coherent? Also nah. But capable of conversation and deserving of respect as a living being? Yeah.

Now that her sire was gone, she looked around. Off course this was strange lands for her, nothing closely familiar. The golden pup wondered what was wrong that her father dropped her like that and then left. She wasnt aware of her actual issues, no pup did until later on life. She didnt even see it as wrong nor good, just a thing she did. She coughed a bit from the cold air that flew through the barren fields, carrying chill with each hit against her small body.

All was quite until she heard steps, finding a large wolf closing by. A female, a very large one. Larger than her own father. Yet she wasnt afraid. She simply watched her, in silence at first. "Junkoohh" She said as she stood up to approach the adult. Wondering if she would stay with her. Right?

Lyra nodded slowly when the pup gave her name. She noticed, too, that the pup wasn't afraid and was rather relaxed, which quite frankly was something Lyra liked. Confidence was good in a pup. Or so, that's how she was perceiving it. She was quite wrong, but she wouldn't know that.

"Junko," Lyra repeated quietly. Noticing she was still standing, she lowered herself to the ground to better look at the pup. "Did you know that male?" She wanted to figure out what was going on. There were a couple scenarios she could think of, and she didn't like either of them.

She wasn't sure what to do if the pup was abandoned, though. It's been a while since she was back here, and she wasn't sure where anybody was. She wasn't sure how many folk she knew was even still here. At the same time, she wasn't sure if she wanted a child with her. The idea how early made her a bit wary, but she also didn't want to abandon any puppy.

A smart pup would have run away from this stranger. Yet, Junko wasn't a normal pup, a pup who was slowly seeing the world in a twisted way from the normal population. Good and wrong mixing, losing the veil that separated them. Eyes of purple and pink rested into the form of the bigger wolf before her. More questions came from Lyra, questions she didn't hold a deep answer to. "Father." She said simply, though the words mother and father didn't have a real meaning for her, just a world like any other. She then brushed herself against the woman, as if now she belonged to her. She didn't want to lose another wolf in her life. Even someone who she just met.

Ah, fuck. She tried to keep the expression on her face neutral, but she'd always been bad about hiding her emotions. Anger, sadness, and resignation all flashed across her face, albeit briefly. I mean, at least the pup wasn't kidnapped and left for dead as a way to get back to another pack? But oof, abandoned by your own family? She thought of her own father, and a pang of sadness hit her. She knew that he was most likely dead, considering her own age. It was a facet of life, just a sad one. She couldn't imagine him abandoning them. Then again, though, her mother had dumped her and her siblings on her father. But damn, she at least had the decency to search out their father and not just drop them off in the middle of a fucking battlefield.

She was broken out of her thoughts by the soft brush of the pup against her, and she looked over at Junko. She sighed heavily, turmoil raging inside of her. Ultimately though, her ethics won and there wasn't much of a discussion on that. She wasn't sure who was around, she wasn't about to abandon a puppy. A part of her wished she hadn't followed this pup's father, but when her gut said to do something, she generally listened. So, she guessed she would need to do something with this pup. And for now, that meant the puppy should probably come with her. "Wanna come with me?" she asked, aiming to meet the purple and pink eyes of the puppy, with her own purple ones.

Life often brought harsh changes to one's life. To anyone at any time, young or old. Life always knew how to play with someone, how to maul, break and bend. How to turn a blessing into a curse, happiness into sadness. And it seemed that for the young Junko it was her turn to face life's dynamics. She was too young to understand or have a way to think about the future, to wonder what could happen if she was to follow this stranger. But as a pup hee age she only behaved in response to the strongest feeling, to the heavier desire or need. And her need was having someone in her life and if this woman could do that she didn't care nor noticed any possible danger that it could bring.

As such she stood by the woman's side, ready to move when she did. "Yes. Mine now." No one else's.
