roof over our heads
Sanctus

With a rawhide strap in her teeth, the other end wrapped around a hide that she was dragging behind her in the snow, Corbie made her way to the far side of one of the sheep pastures they'd be using for the winter. It wasn't super far from the barn where they'd be sheltering most nights, but far enough that they'd need shelter during the day if bad weather came up. They'd put up poles before the ground froze, but since they hadn't used this field yet they hadn't completed the shelter. Her plan was to build a semi-permanent roof out of thatch, and fasten the hides to three of the sides so they could be rolled up for airflow, or down to block the wind. The rest of the materials were already there, and earlier that morning she'd asked Sanctus to meet her there so the two of them could work on it. Ayer clung to her neck with one arm and her tail, her other arm cradling some precious tools to the kinkajou's chest - an auger, a knife, and a mallet, so that she could finish making the roof joists that the wolves would cover with bracken and straw.
unless otherwise stated, Corbie's kinkajou companion is with her at all times
