The patrols he had been taking more often with Keahi had slowly become a welcome and expected part of his day, even when it landed him in various skirmishes with the area's wild life. It was good for him to get his head out of his work a couple of times a day and he was of course getting to spend more time with her as well. He had never had a relationship like this were he would just spend time doing normal, daily tasks together like this and it made him begin to wonder more about what their future was going to look like since it seemed that both of them were all too eager to spend their time side by side rather than apart.

Their morning patrol had been peaceful, but it seemed that their evening one wasn't going to follow that same theme. It was she sound of growls that caught his attention and when the looked toward the sound he spotted the cluster of coyotes that was stalking out of the shadows toward them–led by the one that had a ragged ear that he remembered from his last encounter with coyotes at the border. He scoffed a bit and muttered to Keahi, "I guess they're back for round two." He didn't give them a chance to make the first move and instead lunged forward, ignoring one of them that tried to intercept him and going right for the leader that he had fought with the last time.

"Ruga Amanto"

The red woman happily walks with Ruga through the snow-covered forest. Her steps are light as they move, the joy from having the tall blacksmith accompanying her on the patrol is written in every line of her body. Even the chill of winter cannot dampen Keahi’s spirit as they make their nightly patrol. However, growls have her steps slowing as her ocean blue eyes search for the source of the sounds and finds that several coyotes are stalking out the shadows. Lips pull back as she bares her teeth, darting a glance at Ruga as he says they are back for a second round. Oh, so these are the bastards that attacked him.

Bright blue eyes turn to the creatures, determination blazing in them as the need to send these small predators away with a reminder not to come back over takes her. Ruga lunges for the leader and Keahi protects his sides, going for the coyote that tries to strike the man as he passes. With a mighty snarl, she grabs the attacking coyote by the scruff of its neck and slams it hard into the ground. Releasing its scruff, Keahi adjusts her angle of attack so that she can deliver a sharp bite to the side of it neck. It won’t kill the beast but she does give it a gift to remember her by. As it pitifully whimpers, she releases her hold with a growl of warning. She is allowing it go free, if it does not attack again.

With that, she backs up toward Ruga. Snarling loudly, she slaps out at the coyotes that are stupid enough to get close to her.

"Keahi Mogotsi"

One would think that these canines would have gotten the hint the last time he chased them off, but apparently they weren't all that bright. He and Keahi were going to make sure they got the message this time. While she kept the leader's minions at bay and started delivering a message of her own, he grabbed the leader by the scruff and pulled the coyote to the ground, holding it down while he grabbed one of its ears and tore through the tender skin with his teeth, shredding and tearing the small appendage. It wasn't anything that would cause lasting harm or would endanger the coyote's life, but it sent a message and would hopefully deter them from trying to pick any more fights with their pack. Really, he was doing them a favor. He had no doubts that many of the other Armada members would have just killed them and been done with it. With his bloody message delivered, he released the coyote and tossed them back toward the woods and watched as it began to run with a few barks back to its companions and they all began to follow suit, leaving them alone at the border again. He licked his muzzle clean of the blood and glanced over at Keahi with a little smile. "Hopefully that's the last we see of them."
