Elysium Raid Healing Thread

Ikigai didn't feel like doing anything. She didn't feel like eating, leaving her den at all, let alone helping with a raid. Duty was her weakness, however. So, the pale woman pushed aside her true emotions, plastered on a masterful smile, and collected her things. Still, despite her outward cheery demeanor, Ikigai was glad to have Deimos walk beside her all the way to the healing camp. The man was truly the pillar holding her up through all of her pain. After kissing Deimos and wishing him luck, Ikigai began setting up the healing station. She did so alone, having come before the other healers so that Deimos could be sure to make it to the battle with energy to spare. The pale woman separated supplies into bundles for easy access. There were rags, tinctures, ointments, sutures, splints and other random items that she'd rather have and not need than need and not have. Once the supplies were separated, the woman waited for the healers and the injured to arrive. Iki would be more than happy to teach any wolf that wished to learn. She hoped that no one ended up severely injured, but cuts and bruises were bound to happen. The worst that she expected was a sprain or two, but one could never know for sure. She would be prepared for any injuries that came her way. | "Tanuki" | "Ikigai" | "Willa" |

A raid is being prepared and the wolves of Elysium have departed to begin the setup of a healing camp. However, there is something more important on the purple boy’s mind as he travels with his father toward the land. Ikigai has been extremely sad and, since the pup has a small crush on the pretty lady and a big spot in his heart for her, he wants to make her happy. When he hadn’t seen the sweet healer for a while, he had turned to his uncle, Deimos, for answers. He seemed sad too as they talked but, together, they had thought of something nice to help the pretty lady feel better.
For there, he had taken the plan to his mother and, after a little convincing, had enlisted her help in the grand plan. Now, the precious cargo is tucked in a small bag that currently hangs around his neck and the pup is eager to see his friend. Malico arrives with his father after the healing station has been set up and the boy busies himself while waiting for the perfect moment to give his little gift. It takes a little bit of time but he finds a moment that she doesn’t appear to be answering questions and he swiftly trots up to her.
Clearing his throat to gain her attention, the pup then asks, “Auntie Ikigai? Can I talk to you for a moment?” Once she gives him the go ahead, Malico then sits down so he can shrug off the bag that is around his neck while saying, “Uncle Deimos said you have been really sad and I wanted to get you something special. He helped me pick it out.” Small paws open the bag and he delicately removes a small, tied cluster of flowers.
Although there are only six flowers bound with a small, silver piece of cloth, a trained healer may be able to understand why there are so few. Paws lift, presenting the white, fuzzy petaled flowers to Ikigai.Malico gently explains, “They are called Edelweiss. Mom and uncle Deimos say that they are good healing herbs. I… hope they help you to feel better.” A shy, worried smile is offered to the black and white lady as he presents the mountain dwelling flowers to her.
While, he isn’t a healer, when he had found out that these things were rare, the pup had set his sights on getting her some. Mom had taken up the mountain by their home and, high above the earth, they had found the precious flowers poking from some cracks in between the rocks. While Mal does not know why she is sad, or the fact that the very mountain he had pulled these beautiful flowers from played a part in that sadness, he hopes that the fact they are hard to get herbs is helpful for her.

It wasn't that she was excited for the raid itself, honestly she couldn't care less as to the wins and losses, or changes in the status of battle. However, the injuries that were likely to befall her pack mates did capture her interest. As the collective prepared to leave for the fight, she ventured off to where Aunt Ikigai had set up a healing camp of sorts- close to the raid itself, but not too close to get caught in the crossfire of battle ... even if it was for mock purposes.
When she finally made it, she witnessed Malico handing something over to their aunt, only catching the last few words from a longer sentiment. The alabaster fae looked well enough to her, as far as she could tell. Not caring enough to get involved in a conversation centered on feelings that weren't her own, she moved to investigate some of the supplies that had already been laid out. Some stuff she recognized, others she didn't. It was difficult to have a lesson based on hypotheticals, but here ... practical application was certainly a possibility, and she was essentially vibrating with excitement. She glanced back towards Ikigai with a clear question to her expression, but didn't want to cut Malico off from his gift-giving exchange ... even if she thought it was silly. As always, her brother was the exception to her short supply of tolerance. For anyone else though, she wouldn't spare the time.
So with a silent huff, she redirected her attention back to the supplies, relying on her own imagination for the moment to speculate the intended purpose of the ones she didn't recognize.

Alastor had volunteered to come and guard the healers and camp while his children led the charge into glorious battle against Valta. Though it was only a practice raid for fun and he didn't expect a sneak attack to be launched on their vulnerable healers or campsite, it was still good routine to show things as accurately as they would be in a real raid, and in a real combat situation defense of your medics was something that needed to be considered. The giant black wolf stood sentinel over the others as they went about setting up their triage stations, preparing for the first of Elysium's injured to come marching back from the battlefield. It was also good for the Commander to see how his noncombatant wolves performed their tasks. As someone with no healing skill to speak of, it was interesting to watch as Ikigai went about preparing her tools and tinctures, and it was good for the sire to keep an eye on his youngest to make sure they didn't get into any trouble themselves.
