Flurry was ready for the hooves this time, and as she saw the horse lift it's leg she veered, shifting a few paw steps quickly to her left to avoid what would have undoubtedly been a very painful knock to the noggin, she was less aware of the teeth this time, and unfortunately for her this time she was actually scruffed. That did little to tamp down on the fire within her though and the girl lashed out with her forepaws, hoping to wrap them around the horse's neck as it craned, it would take some work to throw her properly and would give her at least a little bit of a window to latch on for dear life! She craned her neck towards the thick corded neck as well, trying to sink fangs in, less as an overt act of aggression but honestly more to try and hold on further, she didn't want to get thrown honestly. Fighting a horse had given her something fighting another wolf usually didn't and frankly, she just didn't want it to be over yet. Also... Well, she wanted to at least land one fucking hit before she was sent scampering with her tail between her legs, she'd never live that down if she didn't.

You couldn't kill me if you tried Ardyn had warned them of what was coming. The Pirate pack was coming to raid, and although it was her very first time participating in a raid, she was surprisingly calm as she donned her armor and prepped herself for the coming fight. She had the longer tendrils of her tail braided several days ago, and it certainly helped to keep the hair from dragging on the ground or getting snagged. Surely it would help to keep her opponents from grabbing a hold, but she wasn't too concerned about it. After all, her fur was still short compared to what it had been prior to it falling off out of the blue. It had grown in, but it wasn't what it used to be. Though she noticed the progress, and she hoped that by the next season or two, she'd be fully restored to her former glory. Once she was prepared, she slipped out after the others and made her way to meet their "guests" with quiet determination. She was still far from where she felt she wanted to be in this field, but she was better than she was before. Hopefully, she could give whoever she clashed with a run for their money. "Speak"

He watched quietly from the wall as Ardyn's birds flew over Valhalla to sound the warning of approaching raiders. He didn't have the gear that others in the pack did, but he had fared mostly okay without all of that stuff. It was always just him and his companions...and they did plenty fine so far. It wasn't his place to meet the raiders first. He'd wait for the others to arrive before he dove into the fray. In the meantime, he used a bit of time to stretch out his muscles and when the time came that the other Valhallans began to file out from the ravine and made their way to meet the Pirates, Tyto raced along the wall to join them, though he wasn't sure how long it'd be until he joined them since he was a good distance away. He spotted Caelia among the distant group, but by the time he made it to the main event, fights had begun almost immediately. He wasn't the only one arriving a bit late, it seemed. The tall glowing girl was behind the group. He arrived just behind her, diving right into the thick of it as he searched for an opponent. "Speak"

Calico Jack manages to pin his first opponent and, as soon as the victory is certain, he is quick to release the woman. A joyful grin and happy wink are given to the lady as he says, “Thanks for the great fight! I’ll be waiting if you ever want to try your luck again.” With that, a chuckle rolls out and the tall pup turns to scan the battlefield for another opponent. His shoulder throbs from the where bruises will surely form and blood slowly oozes from the bites that the wolf had given him but he is ready to fight. Immediately, his pale blue gaze lands on a woman, that glows way too brightly. Like seriously, is that heathy? Wait, does everything in her glow?

The pup forces his childish questions aside as the retreating form of Gil makes it apparent that the adult has lost his fight. A grin plays across the pup’s lips as he turns toward the glowy woman and runs. Thundering across the distance, Calico Jack charges straight at the bright woman, not slowing as he near her. He attempts to slam full force into her and, since he is coming at her from an angle, he aims to ram into the shoulder that is facing his direction. At the same time, he lashes out with his teeth, seeking to grab ahold of the shorter woman’s scruff and keep her from pulling away. Meanwhile, the boy’s companions reset themselves, readying to charge in at the patchwork pup’s call.

Her opponent fell away, leaving her with a victory and a few scrapes and bruises from the fight. She took a swift moment to assess the situation, noting that several had lost their fights on Valhalla’s side, and only she and Taliesyn stood, the stallion dealing with one of the youngsters from the pirates, until she spotted Tyto and Tel barreling in. That was all she was able to absorb before her peripheral senses heard the thunder of paws at full charge coming in. Caelia’s former opponent, a pup. Aurielle waited until the last breath before dancing to one side and letting the boy’s attacks fall short. The Spirit Mother shifted into the offensive with the next heartbeat and shot forward, aiming to ram the boy from an angle, shoulder jutting forward and seeking to plant the hard-armored point into the boy’s ribcage behind the right foreleg and throw him into his headlong charge with the impact. With one foe beaten Ajax moved onto the next. Raids were chaotic, allies and enemies all around, clashing and colliding. Some retreating whilst others stood strong. It was almost overwhelming to his senses, he wasn't sure where to look or what sounds to focus on. And yet it was thrilling, had his heart thudding in his chest, made him feel alive once again, like this was where he was meant to be all along. Flurry had tried-and failed- to take down the white horse with the horn, so naturally Ajax decided he would be the one to best the defender.

He'd never fought anything as large as a horse before, but like any creature it could be bested. That his skill and natural talents would surely be enough to seize victory in the Pirate's name. He rushed forward, offering no greeting to the equine as he made the first move. Not attempting to bite a leg or snap at a heel as some might. But with all of the power and spring in his hind paws he leapt up, attempting to gain a foothold atop the horse's back. His cat claws flicked out, scratching and scrabbling to gain a foothold.

Sparrow's opponent dropped away and she turned to see who else was left. The yearlings were holding their own, and even some of the younger members were getting into it. It was good to see that many were eager among the young pirates.

A newer face- that of a panda-spotted male appeared. He seemed about her age, but there wasn't much else Sparrow could discern from him. She launched at him, making no secret moves as she navigated the chaos around her. She headed for him straight on, teeth bared as she tried to grip his left scruff and twist him to the ground in one swoop using her momentum- she didn't need to fight longer than she had to.

He had won out, and Isolde shrieked from above to warn him as another pup’s eyes locked onto him. The hawk had been watching the fights from above between watching for chances to attack and had spotted the pup fighting Cairo. She relayed a warning to the stallion, noting the odd tail mutation, and Taliesyn tipped his head to watch the pup with one great teal eye as he barreled toward him, and his glowing hide flared a little brighter as his muscles tensed in preparation as the kid launched himself into the air. The stallion chose that moment to counter the pup's flying pounce by swinging his front end toward the pup, aiming to throw his shoulder into the youngster’s chest and either catch him a lot harder than he’d intended to land or send him flying from the impact of the much larger, much heavier body. The pair collided and it hurt, a thud of muscles hitting a much smaller frame. And yet Ajax was not one to be put off, he doubled down, scratching and clawing, paws swiping in the air as he kept up the offence. Determined to climb the horse like he was a dang mountain and sink his sharp and pointy bits in as far as he could manage. It was rough around the edges, lacking any of the grace most Valhalla fighters fought with, but who cared? He wasn't out here to make a spectacle, he was here to win. And if he had his way he'd seize victory once more, nudge the Pirates closer to their end goal of expansion.

Deluge didn't have time to appreciate her victory, as more wolves were joining the fray. Her amber eyes were caught by flashes of light, other wolves seeming to glow like she did, and she remembered the man she had encountered the last time she was here. Her head quirked to the side for just a moment, taking in those that were engaged in battle before finally falling on an open opponent.

She ran towards the pretty woman, only missing a step as she took in their similarities. At another time she might have stopped to ask if she'd had a child stolen at birth, but deep down she knew there was too much of her parents in her for her to belong to anyone else. She would come at her opponent head on and swing clawed paws towards shoulders, aiming to lock antlers to spare anyone's eyes in the process.

The boy was tenacious, scrabbling to cling as they collided. Taliesyn knew the collision would leave bruises, but it wasn’t much bother for him. He let the boy gain a small purchase just behind the withers, wincing as the boy’s claws tore light lacerations into his hide through his winter coat, while Wangui scampered to intercept, taking up a long lock of the stallion’s mane, deftly twisting it into a temporary rope, and whipping the end at Ajax’s face, hoping to sting the boy’s eyes with the thick hairs. She would have liked to try wrapping the makeshift rope around his neck to strangle him, but Taliesyn snorted a warning, and she felt that familiar bunching of muscles and clung tight to the horse’s crest as the stallion made a sudden massive, twisting leap and buck sideways in that strange way horses have of teleporting to one side during a major spook. Many of his ancestors had dumped riders in just such a way. If Ajax wasn’t firmly enough attached, there was high chance the youngster would end up dismounted from the stallion’s sudden leap. You couldn't kill me if you tried Fights were breaking out everywhere, and it didn't seem like this raid was in Valhalla's favor. She was nervous of course, this was her first raid, but still, she'd do her best to try and secure a victory for herself, and for Valhalla. Her head swung around as she looked around to see what was going on and who was engaged in a fight, looking to see who had lost and who had won. It wasn't until her owl called out a warning that she looked ahead again to find a young pirate coming towards her. The girl bore similarities to herself, and for a brief moment, she wondered if they might be related, but then again...Ardyn and Aurielle also bore similarities, and they weren't related to her whatsoever. As the girl drew close and aimed to swipe for Tel's shoulders, Tel lowered her head and stepped to her right, avoiding Deluge's claws as she swung her head towards her, seeking to knock the girl off balance by way of knocking her own antlers against Deluge's shoulder. She made sure the points wouldn't make any serious contact, but more brushing her aside before she then attempted to swipe Deluge's forepaw out from beneath her (towards Tel) in an effort to further aid in making the girl lose her balance and cause her to stumble.
