Upward his muzzle would angle as a howl would rip free from deep in his gut. He was summoning them, the knights of Seracia. Three or four would be chosen to march in the kingdom's honor, to march on Glaciem with Valhalla and see to the war's victory. He needed to know they were prepared, needed to know they would act accordingly and honorably. He needed to trust them and to will them onward to victory. His head would rock back to its normal position, the howl still echoing throughout all of the kingdom. Those capable and willing would come, and of them he would choose a select few. The rest would be prepared to protect the Valhallan refugees. Above all else, they would ensure that this kingdom would not fall. He remained standing, anxious for them to come and hear what he had to say. His nerves were firing rapidly as he shifted his weight from side to side. They would come.

War was pounding at the borders of their sister pack Valhalla and Seracia would not let them face this alone. Maverick's summoning howl would breach the atmosphere, calling any warriors that were available. Pontifex wasn't a warrior anymore, but he would fight for him kingdom regardless. Abandoning his pacing, the Grand Duke would move towards the call, golden gems coming across the russet figure of his monarch. A low bow would be presented to the King, grey brows furrowed together in deep worry. My lord...Are we at war? Tones would be grave, knowing that it was highly likely but wanting to have confirmation anyways.

A call from his King was not something that Bronze would ignore. He had not always been so humble, so willing to bow to authority -- but Seracia had brought his family together, had allowed for the creation of new life. He was grateful, and it would be selfish of him to ignore a cry for help. What Maverick wanted, he was not sure, but it was with haste that Bronze abandoned whatever duties he had been attending to and immediately made his way toward his King.

Another had arrived already -- Loccian's brother. Quietly he would slip forward, a somber expression overtaking him as Pontifex questioned him. 'My lord... are we at war?' He would wait for the russet man to speak, reclining gently to his hindquarters. Was this what he wanted? Warriors to fight? He had thought the fight was Valhalla's, but it seemed they had to defend their allies. Made sense. He knew his wife would protest, but if he needed warriors, Bronze was still able -- though perhaps not in his prime, he knew he had some strength left in him.

Finally. Paws would kiss the earth quickly as the man made his way toward his alphas call. He had been waiting for this call for a few days now, because he knew at some point Valhalla would come for help. He had already told Chrysanthe he would fight alongside her during the war, and he was a man of his word. Whither Maverick let him go or not he would be there, though permission from his alpha would be preferred. If he told him no he would explain his reasoning, and hopefully he would understand. Love makes us do crazy things. The red king would come into view, along with two other men he had seen frequently. All three honorable men to say the least. "Maverick, Pontiflex, Bronze." He would address them all politely, a smile creasing his ebony lips. His gaze again would fall back on Maverick. "I already know the news, I spoke to Valhalla's alpha myself. Last I heard Glaciem claimed Gideon as well." He would say, a bitter feeling nipping at his heart. It still hurt him that Chrysanthe was married to Gideon, but he would ignore that for now. "I promised her I would fight beside her to get him back."

In a flash three arrived, and a smile would pull at the corners of his lips. Pontifex came first, asking a rather ominous question. Then came Bronze, and finally Themisto. Themisto spoke the most, letting them know that Gideon was claimed by Glaciem. "It is my understanding that Gideon is now free, another offered herself for his freedom." Though that didn't make the future any brighter. Themisto then told them that he had promised to fight alongside Valhalla, inciting a growl from the King. "And if I had requested you stay?" came the nearly combative tones, but he quickly adjusted his temper. "Yes, we are at war. I am in need of a few of you to go with Syrinx back to Valhalla to prepare for battle. Will the three of you march on behalf of Seracia?" He trusted these three to do the kingdom's justice and to behave honorably, even if Themisto had acted - and promised - out of turn. He turned then to his uncle, a bit of fire still in his tone. "See to it everyone comes back in one piece, and that your loyalties don't waver." Allies or not, Themisto was under Seracian reign, and he'd do well to remember that. Finally he addressed the group once more. "Should you accept you will not have long to remain here, do only what you must and then prepare to leave at sunset with Syrinx, he will see to it that you are all given ranks of high esteem and taken care of." With that, he would fall silent to let them speak if they needed to.

He would wait for his king to respond, and when he did the man was surprised. He came off rather angry about Themisto wanting to go, why he wasn't sure, but he merely listened as opposed to causing a scene. If his king wanted him to stay he would lie and say that he would, but his loyalty to his family would never cease. After all he was going to help get Gideon back, but now that he had been released he wondered if Chrysanthe would even want him to help anymore. He assumed so, since numbers would count in this war. "I didn't know Gideon was back." He would say, not trying to stroke the flame within his red king more. "If you will still allow me to go, you have my word that I will bring them back." He hoped that Glaciem would not attempt to claim any of them, because if they lost then his word would be broken. He would not speak again, for he felt no reason to reassure Maverick of his loyalty. He would always stay loyal to Seracia, and if the red king questioned that then that was his problem.

ooc: Ior is in the process of joining the pack, I know he won't actually be able to participate in the siege but he doesn't...

Iorwerth really wasn't settled into his new life just yet, but then of course having only just joined the pack a few days ago it was only to be expected. Having met very few members of the pack, socialising was definitely necessary. Another priority for him though was finding ways to fit in and prove himself to his new leaders, even if he had only met the Queen currently. Still, this lack of truly belonging wasn't about to stop the young man as he heard the summoning howl, deciding this was an opportunity that he ought not to miss.

Making his way through the pack lands, he did eventually catch sight of the small gathering of wolves, a surprising turn out given he was under the beleif the pack was larger than this. There were very clearly only three others stood before the red male that Iorwerth could only assume was the King, if not certainly some other high ranking male. The meeting had indeed started though, and as he continued in his approach, he managed to catch parts of the speech, enough to understand that there was to be a war of sorts.

As the others began to speak up, marking the end of Maverick's words, Iorwerth continued forwards to join them in standing before the King. "Apologies for my delay" He stated, politely dipping his head to the male. Though he of course certainly hadn't been strictly summoned, he had arrived later than the others around him and certainly felt the apology was needed for his small interruption. "My name is Iorwerth, I have only recently joined however if I can be of any assistance I will gladly help."

The others would remain silent as Themisto spoke up, he hadn't known Gideon was back at home. Though the fire still raged in his chest, he felt it start to fizzle out as Themisto promised to bring everyone back. That was a lofty promise, but one he would hold the man to - if he could. "I trust Valhalla to take care of you all, now go and say goodbye to your friends and families and prepare to leave with Syrinx at sunset." Another man came, one Maverick didn't know but expected was a new member based upon his scent. Loccian or Epiphron must have accepted him. "You can be of assistance, ser, though not by marching with the others. I will need to hold back a few warriors to defend the Kingdom. Valhalla will be sending its refugees to us during the war, and it would be wise for all of us to be on our guard. You will be one of my foot soldiers who remains in the kingdom for its own sake." He eyed the man for a moment, and then dipped his head with respect, war was no time for being skeptical. Having dismissed the others, the King slipped toward the new member, interested in getting to know him a bit better. "I am King Maverick, might I have your name ser?"

The red male was finishing the meeting with the first three wolves as Iorwerth joined him. He had hoped to be filled in quickly and then go report back to his fellow packmates to go and help their allies, though of course there was no such luck. Apparently he could still be of use though, remaining within the pack as a potential guard if any of the war came too close to their lands. It was better than nothing he supposed, though it didn't seem like he would definitely be of use. Something was surely better than nothing, though he couldn't help but feel slightly disappointed, the emotion however of course hidden as ever.

"Yes, of course." He responded simply, a dip of his head again, focussing upon the King and not the three leaving wolves whom he had hoped to join. His earlier assumption had been correct, this male certainly was important, the King that he had heard Epiphron speak of. With that in mind, he didn't bother pointing out he had already introduced himself, instead simply repeated his name once more. "I am Iorwerth."

Another man would arrive, and he began to speak somewhat frantically about protecting someone from Valhalla. Maverick seemed pleased at the few that had arrived, but Bronze would remain stoic as his King began to speak. It was not surprising when he was questioned to march to war with Valhalla. Bronze would merely nod, his head dipping low in respect as he considered for a moment.

"I would be honored," he replied gruffly. He had not always been so considered with honor and doing the right thing, but time truly had changed him -- and he hoped for the better. It would be unwise for his children to see him deny such a request; they would learn from his humility and devotion to Seracia.

But they would be leaving tonight. He decided he would tell his wife only, and she could find the children and explain to them. Bronze could only imagine Mercury's stubborn nature appearing; the boy would likely want to go with him, but he didn't know a thing about the bloodshed that would follow. He could only hope he would come out alive, and he was determined to do so.
