The finishing touch for Andy’s watchpoint was also the most delicate. Setting the glass was something that couldn’t be rushed. It was late in the day when Andy, Seer, and his small army of companions towed the glass up the hill on a wagon. “This is it, Andy. You’ll be able to start using this by tonight.” He said, wondering if he was going to be needing to bring her evening meal up to her tonight. The wagon was brought to a stop by the base of the structure. They had rope to lever the glass out of the wagon, and he needed to get that into place first. “Alright, start pulling on this rope, Andy. Slow-like, and stop the second I say to” He instructed her. "Speech"

Excitement swells in Andy’s chest as the finishing touches are being put on her observation post. Carefully, the little army push and pull the wagon filled with fragile glass up the winding path of First Point Light. Even though she is extremely eager to finish her post, the girl knows that rushing this would result in even more waiting. So, she is careful and does exactly what her father tells her to do when he tells her.

Sirius is wise in ways that Andy has not yet attained and the youth is at least intelligent enough to know when to take a backseat on things. Finally, the army arrives at the base of the structure and Andy moves to the rope pully they had set up. Turning to look at her father, she perks her ears to listen and nods firmly, saying, “Okay!” She readies herself and grabs the rope, slowly moving backward and taking the rope with her. Ears strain to catch her father’s voice, not wanting a pull second longer than she should when he tells her to stop.


"Andromeda Fatalis"

The Warlord set himself up where the glass would end up, ready to ease it into place as his daughter grabbed the rope. She began to pull and heave on it - She was getting big, his yearling daughter, and had some weight now to heave into the work. This observation point had been a long time in the making, and he knew they were both excited to see it complete. He guided the glass down, down, down. “Stop!” he cried to Andy, and clicked the glass pane into place. One down, three more to go. “And again” He said as they prepared the next glass pane for the job. He spared a moment to throw a grin her way. "Speech"

Andy pulls the rope slowly, concentrating on making sure the glass is lifted safely. When her father cries stop, the purple girl stills, not releasing the tension on the rope until he places the glass and frees the rope frame. Releasing her hold, she rolls her neck and shoulder while trotting to where the panes of glass are, together and with the help of the companions, they ready the next pane for transportation.

Tail wags happily as she works and, once it is set up, she eagerly retreats to her rope pulley. Looking to her dad, eyes sparkling with happiness, Andy waits for his cue before grabbing the rope once more. Using the same slow and methodical approach, she pulls the rope and lifts the glass to where her father waits. She catches her father’s grin from the corner of her eye and her tail wags faster, trying not to return his grin for fear of releasing the rope in her mouth. However, the happiness that she feels can be seen in every line of her body.


"Andromeda Fatalis"

“Wooh!” He called out as the glass lowered enough. When his daughter stopped, he eased that plane into its crevice and locked it into place. The motions were familiar to them now, and they moved the next glass into place, which worked much the same as the other two. Until the side of the observation post that looked out across the Armada and the open view of the sky was sheathed in glass. The last piece was the trickiest. They used Bear’s help to ease the glass plane into its spot on the roof, so that Andy could have an uninterrupted view of the sky. When that last piece was heaved into place, he took a step back and admired their work. “Now we just need to move you in. What things did you want to keep in here?” He asked her as he leaned over and kissed her crown. "Speech"

They work in the fading light day, heaving the glass panes into place, one painstaking piece at a time. It may seem somewhat tedious but, for Andy, it means she is one step closer to having her own personal space. She works carefully, listening to her father when he gives instructions and soon they lifting the final pane into place. The final piece of glass is a little trickier to get in place but, with the help of Bear, they manage it get it secured safely. With the tension released on her rope, the girl abandons her post to bound up to where her father stands.

Joy pulls the lines of her face up as a huge smile has her mouth opening wide. Tail wags loosely at her hips as she fondly appraises her new observation post. Her father’s words have Andy turning her pale blue gaze to catch Sirius’s bright blue eyes. “Well, I would like to keep some furs so I can make a bed if needed. The desk, several rolls of parchment, ink, and a quill. To make my star charts. Oh! And a chest to store extra things.”, she happily chatters away, listing the items she can remember off the top of her head. Of course, in the coming weeks, more would be added.



"Andromeda Fatalis"

“As good a place as any to start” He agreed with a soft laugh. He would bring her something to eat for dinner a little later. He had a feeling she was going to lose track of time tonight. He also considered surprising her with some flowers to put in pots by the door - he could employ Halo’s help for that. “Alright, let's get the cart back down the hill and we can load up. Just remember - this isn’t a permanent bed for you, Miss Andy, I expect you home in bed most nights.” He said, keeping his voice light to hide how much it meant to him. He knew they were reaching the age where they would soon start to venture out. Where they might find lives away from him, from the Armada. He wanted to hold them close a little longer. "Speech"

She lists off the items and her father agrees that it is a good place as any to start. As he laughs, the girl offers him a huge grin and her tail wags happily behind. Sirius speaks, reminding her that he expects her to be in her bed most nights and she gives a firm nod while saying, “Okay! I will do my very best to be in my bed most nights.”

They both know how much she loves the stars and it will be a struggling for her to keep her promise. However, she loves her dad immensely and that means that she will do everything in her power to attempt and keep her word. Trotting back to the cart, she helps to load up the equipment they used so they can begin their journey down the path. While she works, Andy begins to plan out where she will place things and what all she will bring up as she works.
