Kotori roamed the bay, musing over the shoreline and the waves s they slid up the beach and then once more retreated.  Numerous birds were shrilly calling out and stretched out over a large piece of beach.  Kotori jogged over, curious about what caused the activity.  The birds he passed took flight and soon a good number glided overhead chiding him but Kotori chose to ignore them.  What he found were piles of sand that had tiny tracks leading away.  Small miniature turtles were running along as fast as their flippers would let them.  Ahhh.

Kotori hadn’t been the only one planning to visit the beach this day.  A tiger was coming in his direction.  What in the world was a tiger doing here?  It had come from the direction of the mangroves so that Kotori wondered if it had gotten lost or was fleeing someone else.  It didn’t really matter.

The cat pulled back its lips, exposing its fangs before making its most intimidating roar at the horned wolf.   Kotori returned the challenge with his own snarl, prancing arrogantly toward the cat.  He didn’t go many steps before the tiger ran at him.  The two predators circled each other in a dance of quick steps as both looked for an opening.

"Kotori Fatalis"

The day is nice and Enki stands on the shore of the bay, enjoying breeze. As the eternal push and pull of the waves soothes the boy, he allows his mind to wander to happier times. He misses his mother and father and his siblings and often wonders if they are safe. A snarl pulls the pink wolf’s attention out of the depths of memory and he casts his pale blue gaze down the beach.

In the distance, he spies two forms and the scents tell him that is a cat and a wolf. With a grin, he races off down the beach, seeking to join Kotori in the battle against the tiger. With a loud snarl, Enki announces his arrival, darting up behind the tiger to deliver a blow to feline’s right hind leg. A yowl is his reward and the boy is forced to release his hold and jump away from an incoming paw. With a grin on his lips, he dances backward, readying his next attack.


"Enki Klein"

Tiger and wolf spun about in their tight circle, each starting to lunge forward and then giving ground.  Seriously, there were a lot of wolves that loved a good fight and, Kotori approved of this.  The tiger was dealt an attack to its hind leg.  The moment its attention was focused on Enki the horned wolf had his opening, this time when he lunged in there was no need to backup.

Kotori leaped up so his front legs were on the tiger’s rump, with his chest about where the tail was.  Kotori bit deep into where the end of the spine should be, not getting bone on his first attempt of the moving cat but still, he certainly got a taste of blood and muscle before he had to hop away to avoid an attack by the pissed off cat.

"Kotori Fatalis"

The tiger rounds on him and Kotori leaps up at the exposed hind-end. It does an about face, striking out at Ko and Enki decides to follow the wolf’s example, he raises his front-end off the ground as he lunges for the area the earthen male has already opened along the spine. Teeth shred the flesh, exposing the bones of the vertebrae but he is forced to back off as the tiger, now panicking, turns and strikes out wildly at him.

Baby blue eyes dart to where Kotori is and he offers a grin, hoping that he finishes the task he already started. For now, Enki works to keep the feline’s attention, growling and smacking the sand with his paws as he waits to see if Ko strikes true.


"Enki Klein"

Two verses one is never a fair fight and its what made wolves better than so many predators.  Well, one reason.  Wolves were also just smarter than bulky bears and sour cats.  Were cats always in a bad mood?  Even s Kotori had to back off Enki had charged in and got a bite in the same spot Kotori had.  It seemed the tiger was unable to defend from both at the same time.  Obviously.  Its best chance would have been to flee but they were far past it having that option now.

Enki was forced to back off to dodge an attack but even as the cat tracked Enki the horned wolf came back in.  Kotori decided to bring this to a close, leaping up to put the full weight of his body on the cat’s back.  To no surprise the tiger’s back gave out, causing it to fall and scramble to get back up and defend itself.  Since the tiger had collapsed Kotori had also fallen, on top of the tiger, and was leaping to get away before the tiger could get a lucky wild shot in.
It was down, even if only a second.  Enki should be able to kill it fast and easily now.
