Adding Injury to Insult

Tsunami should have probably been back in the pack lands, their borders were being attacked after all but she had passed by the fighting enough to see that as far as she could see it was well in hand and as far as she could tell it wasn't like anyone would really notice she was missing... After all that wasn't exactly new for her. Where had it all gone wrong? Tsunami wasn't sure, she'd joined Hattori with so much hope, so much belief that she might finally get to carve out a space for herself... But well, she didn't really belong here did she? It was mostly the Kaicho's family and those that weren't originally... Well they were now... Except for her. She was the odd one out and as time had gone on she'd felt herself drifting further from the rest of the pack, some part of it had been intentional she would have to admit that, it had been some hope that someone, anyone would notice. But once again she was forced to face the truth: No one would ever care about her. She supposed she ought to be grateful that Kimuy had yet to abandon her, trotting at her flank even now. So no, as far as she was concerned Tojo did not need her, and so she didn't need to be there right now. That thought alone drove her to leave the pack lands. She didn't want further reminders of it all, the sounds of fighting would echo regardless of where she was in the pack. So she walked. The sea salt scent of the attackers still hung heavy in the air though... And something else, something deeper... Something dreadfully familiar. Tsunami's nostril's flared, her eyes quickly scanning as her heart started to pick up, beating against her chest in the first rise of panic. There! She spotted a shape, a familiar red tone picking it's way across the landscape. The fear that flooded through her, the pumping of adrenaline in her ears, the rush of endorphins, all of it masked the obvious truths of the situation, this was not her cousin. Not unless he'd gotten much younger, and much less overwhelmingly red. But it didn't matter she was already charging across the distance, her instincts yelling at her that she had to strike first before he got a chance to overwhelm her ever again. So it was that Tsunami found herself charging down at the yearling, seeing his father in him, though she could not know that for sure. She lowered her head, ears flattening to her skull as she attempted to ram her her head into his right shoulder, maybe if she was lucky she would knock him off his paws. With her head lowered she would also try to grab hold of his right foreleg, there was a ferocity in herself she hadn't tapped into much before but now it was screaming at her. She had to defend herself, that was all it yelled! Tsunami vs Aresenn for Minor Maim - Right Foreleg scarring Round 1/? Somewhere, deep in the part of her brain that was still clinging desperately to reason, she registered the confusion in his voice and his face but it was too late. He fell before her and she tasted fur and flesh in her mouth, the feral voices in her head were screaming to rip and tear and rend but she hadn't totally succumbed to the demons, not yet and if she could help it, not ever. Still she wasn't about to let go, or well didn't want to until she'd took a kick straight to her side, the blood lust blinding her to his movement and she gasped, the air pushing from her lungs as she was flung away from him, he was much bigger than she was and she wasn't exactly in her best mind so it didn't take much to set her stumbling away and onto her own side, though her forepaws flailed slightly, not really trying to hit him but it wasn't out of the question. The adrenaline pumping through her blood kept her from feeling the pain of the attack or the landing and she struggled to rise back to her paws, her sight of the red boy blocked suddenly by Kimuy, who had moved to stand in front of her, between her and the boy she saw as her cousin. The Reindeer looked at the young boy with big brown eyes, her head tilted down slightly at him, the warning clear, she would defend Tsunami if it came to it but she also wasn't blinded in the way her lupine companion was, she could clearly see that the boy had done nothing to earn this attack, and she was not keen on allowing her friend to fall deeper into whatever ferocity had over come her.
