All pack fighters

Alarr's idea to run a fighter's training course had been a good one. Corbie herself was no true fighter, though she had the knowledge of it, so she would not feel very comfortable actually teaching, but it would be good to set the pack to doing spars and get a baseline of where they were at. Especially since not one but two packs planned to raid them, though Valhalla at least was a friendly practice raid. Making her way out to the middle of an unused pasture - the wide open, relatively obstacle-free area would be ideal for baseline spars - she raised her muzzle and called for all the pack wolves with fight skill to join her there. That should leave a few noncombatant wolves to watch over the sheep, though she was keenly aware of the sudden and unexplained absence of her most experienced herdsman, Sans. Settling down on her haunches with her tail tucked over her paws, she waited for the fighters to gather.
OOC: Any wolf with a fight skill (even if you aren't ranked as a fighter) please get your wolf in by the 1st. That should be more than enough time for a starter post! Time to get active!

Álarr finished tending to his small garden, making sure the plants were watered and that there was limited signs of insect damage. He was more of a forager than a farmer but had long been curious about the practice of growing various herbs so he decided to try a few. He paused in his efforts when he heard Corbie calling for the pack fighters. Swinging by his den he grabbed his things as well as his companions. He'd rather be over prepared than under prepared. Afi lay stretched out across his back grumbling. "The afternoon is prime nap time, Álarr. You tell her that. No meeting-"
"I don't think the pirates are going to wait until you're done with your nap, Afi," Álarr interrupted. The cat grumbled under his breath, his claws sharp on his wolven companion's skin.
When he arrived Álarr dipped his head in greeting to Corbie then took a seat to wait for the others as Afi leapt off his back to groom his fluffy feline tail.

Curiously Twig made her way to the call of her leader. Corbie and Avalon were so much different from Abaven, and yet she was now feeling at home. Really though anywhere that Corvus was would be that place. Home was where the heart was after all. They had both suffered much loss and change, but they would always have each other. And hopefully someday they would see their family brought back together.
The cream and caramel woman approached her vivid violet eyes curious as she made her way before the alphess. Leaning back onto her haunches she tilted her head slightly with curiosity as she awaited the meeting to begin.

Though Corvus took a little while to respond to Corbie's call he hoped he wasn't considered late. The prospect of a gathering for their fighters was an intriguing one to him, especially given how long it'd been since he'd really stretched his legs in that manner. Only a few wolves had gathered so far though, his wife among them. Seeing her always seemed to brighten his features, and a smile came easily as he drew closer, nuzzling in beside her and waiting to see who else might show up.

Though the entirety of the pack's fighters hadn't shown yet, Corbie didn't want to keep anyone waiting. There'd not be any training that they'd miss anyway, so if they came in late they could pair up on their own. It was fine. She favored the three of them with a smile. "I'm glad you all came to join me today. We're here to get a little practice in, in some spars, to see what our skill levels are at. We can safely assume that we will, eventually, be raided by another pack, and it is our responsibility as able bodied fighters to defend ourselves, our less able pack members, and our resources. We need to be sure we are ready in that circumstance. Today we will pair off in practice spars, and we'll meet every week to continue practice. All right," she added briskly, "Corvus and Alarr will be paired up this time, and Twig and I." Nodding to her opponent, she trotted a short way away to give Twig's mate and the pack healer room for their own spar, then patiently settling herself to wait for Twig to be ready to go.
OOC: not going to literally do this every week because that would be twice a week oocly lmao but you can assume that IC it is happening once a week

Álarr remained quiet as the meeting started, doing his best to focus on Corbie and ignore the obnoxious slurping sounds of his cleaning companion. They were going to be holding practice spars and he was to be paired with Corvus. Álarr turned to the Destruction man and nodded. That would be a good match. Corvus seemed skilled and he had a good warriors build, not to mention they were similar in age so they were close in experience. Corbie was going to spar Twig herself. As the fighters broke away Álarr barked softly to Afi and headed over toward Corvus. The cat scowled but stopped his grooming and flexed his claws in case he needed to leap into the fray.
