Today, rather than leave the cave behind the Falls, Gavroche had chosen to go deeper within. For as long as they pack had been there, he hadn’t explored very far in. There was no telling how far down into the earth the passages went, but for some reason he grew curious today. He wore his bag, intending to gather chipped off bits of the rock candy as he went. His eyes also sweep the cavern in the darkness for signs of anything that might be out of the norm. His green eyes held a faint glow and, hearing something behind him, the winged male turned with fur raising along his neck. He hadn’t expected to be followed… did anyone even know he’d come down here? Did the other come from another part of the cave? He squinted in the darkness and was met with another pair of green eyes. It was a new day, though Alex wasn’t too interested in going hunting today. He had left Song and Keeneye to their own devices and instead, seeing his father leave the family den and start heading deeper into their cave rather than leave as he normally did, the boy grew curious. With a grin Alexander would decide to abandon any thoughts of going outside and then trailed after his father, trying to be as quiet as possible. Though it would seem that his attempts were in vain because his dad ended up hearing his approach. Gavroche would turn, tense at first, then exhaled in relief once he saw that it was his boy that had followed after him.

Alexander gave a sheepish smile, closing the distance between them before giving his dad’s cheek a nuzzle. “Sorry dad.” The boy told him. “I just noticed you were heading deeper into the cave, and wanted to accompany you, if that’s okay? Are you planning on collecting more rock candy?” It was good to have a collection of it on paw. It seemed like it was a pretty popular trade item for their pack. And if Alexander could help his dad with gathering it then he’d happily do so. A task was made easier with an extra set of paws after all!
