She couldn't get enough of this place. It was definitely one of her favorite places in Boreas. Tar Pits aside, of course. It smelled of death, of decay, despair, and lost souls. She felt at home here. Too bad she couldn't claim it as her own, but alas, she lived close enough. She stalked into the battlefield in her usual saunter, a grin on her face and eyes blazing with mischief and glee. She didn't care who she fought today, as long as she got to stretch her muscles and use her teeth. The skull upon her head and the skeleton wrapped around her body rattled and knocked as if in anticipation for the next fight. She had come far in her skill and abilities and wanted to keep them sharpened. Throwing back her head to call for someone to fight her as she traipsed across the blood-soaked field, she wouldn't stop until someone came to stand in her path.

He hadn't been to the battlefield much for a while. But he decided that he probably should visit more often. He was lacking in skill. The raid defending against the pirates proved as much. The earthen Ancora made his way there, thinking about his future. His past. His present. He didn't know what he wanted to do or where he wanted to go in life, but at least he was trying to figure it out. Sort of. A summons for a fight jolted him from his thoughts, and he realized he had gone deeper into the battlefield than he initially thought. The caller was unfamiliar. But then again, so was everyone he came across. It held a tone to it that he didn't quite understand...it was almost...feral...maniacal...if that was even the right word for it. Curious and driven to do better, Grimoire went against his better judgment and made his way to meet his would be opponent. When he spotted her, his brows furrowed as he took in the sight of her. A scraggly she-wolf, older than him, that wore the bones of another. It was something he'd never seen anyone wear before and was feeling unnerved. And when he decided that this probably wasn't a good idea anymore and was about to turn away, she had already laid eyes on him. Shit. "I...er...I'm here to spar...you...I guess." He cleared his throat as he tried to remain undisturbed by her presence. Was she just as psycho as she looked? Or was he judging a book by its cover? "Grimoire

She smelled the approach of another. An earthen male with horns and paws much bigger than hers when she looked at him. Her maw split into a grin when he said he'd spar her. "Medusa will fight you then!" She giggled, and as she set herself up to fight, she recognized the scent hanging off his coat. Armada?! Man they really were everywhere, weren't they? The last time she had run into one was probably Azure though, and that was a while ago. "Tell your boss man Medusa said hi and thanks again for the piercing!" She flashed another smile and ticked her head so he could get a better view, and then she was off! Medusa charged at him, aiming to come head-on before dipping to the left in an effort to slam the point of her shoulder into his ribs. He was bigger than her, heftier even, just like most of those in the Armada it seemed. But that didn't matter! She was quicker on her feet from what she'd learned, so she'd use that to her advantage. She'd fought many so far, and those horns of his were something to try and steer clear from. Snapping her head towards him, she sought to quickly nip his side as she went by. Well, there was no backing out now unless he ran. But he was no coward, so he'd have to stick it out in a fight. He gathered so far, that the woman's name was Medusa. That much was obvious since she had said it twice now, unless it was someone else, but he doubted it. Before he could respond, the skeleton woman launched at him. It was sort of unexpected. What happened to pleasantries? Did anyone do that anymore?

Quickly prepping himself, Grim was determined to try and win this one. Maybe a comeback from his failure at the raid. Medusa came at him, more towards his side than head on, and as she got closer and her shoulder clipped his ribs, he turned his head inward in an effort to jab her with his horns. He extended his forepaw, looking to trip her up as she sought to go by.

She had managed to hit him, but not as hard as he had hit her! She yelped in surprise and pain as she felt something sharp poke her side right behind her ribs as she passed. She skittered to a halt, stumbling from his tripping her up, kicking up dirt and dust as she practically stumbled in her bid to spin around. Her flash of pain was quickly replaced with a grin as she ran towards him again, "It's not nice to poke a lady!" She exclaimed before closing the distance. Jaws snapped open as she launched an attack to grab his horn in his teeth and drag his head to the ground with her momentum. He was surprised that he'd managed to land a hit considering how much faster she was than him. But he had managed to get her with his horns and even trip her up, but the satisfaction wouldn't last long before she turned around and came back towards him. Where the hell did her energy come from!? Nervousness was building, and he didn't know what to make of the words she shouted, but her quick recovery threw him off and he was too slow to retaliate with anything more than a swipe of his claws. He felt them hit flesh, but it didn't seem to phase her before she managed to grip onto one of his horns, and her speed and momentum coupled with his unbalanced stance since he had taken a swipe at her, Medusa had managed to flip him to the ground, sending the tawny male into a daze.
