The mottled man scooted the near empty bottle back in the direction of Sparrow. His glassy eyes stared up at the sparkling cavern ceilings as he contemplated life. Well, not like life life, but like… Pirate life. He thought of Modesty, of their offspring, of the raids, the shenanigans, the constant soreness he now experienced, the missing toe, his scars. On the surface, he was living as if there were no tomorrow. It was a fun life, but there were times when he needed to sit down with his friend and enjoy her company too. Leaning back against something that may or may not be strong enough to hold his heavy weight, he glanced over at Sparrow as a hiccup lifted his chest. Would she spill the beans? Open up to him? Or would she rather drink in silence and talk about nonsense?
