There will come a soldier who carries a mighty sword
Nova, Bellamy, Lucette

It had taken until almost midnight to get the pup to the borders of Ethne, but Bae wasn't stopping at the borders. The girl was likely hungry and tired and there was no need to make her wait for Bellamy. Besides she would be escorted by a Combatant of Ethne. She would be no trouble, he'd determined that already. He gave a small pause at the border to look back at his heels and make sure the girl was still there, giving her a smile. "This is our border, its not much further now and you can eat and sleep when I get you to my home." With that he moved over the border and towards a path that would take him to Lucy's current den, and at the same time past Bellamy's den. He'd been out all day, unaware of much happening within the border of Ethne save his morning patrol in the creek. He kept his pace slow enough the girl could keep up, even if she was so tired she would falter. It was only mere minutes though from the border to Bellamy's den so he wasn't too worried. He made his pass of Bell's den and as he passed he huffed out a bark, hopefully enough to wake and grab the attention of Bell's as he made for Lucette's den. He'd made sure the girl knew she was gonna meet the leader of his pack and his mate, though he left out that Bell's was probably still sore with him for getting her daughter pregnant. It wasn't necessary information for the girl. As he made it to Lucette's den he lead the way in with a smile on his face. Luce was likely asleep inside. Ruby fluffed up and made for her perch in the den, eager to get her some shut eye. Knowing the macaw she likely wouldn't join him on his morning patrol and would be watching Luce for him until he came to make sure Lucy ate lunch. He cleared his throat as he entered though to as not be rude and just expect Lucy to be ready for a visitor. "Luce, your mom's prolly gonna eat me for this but... I um..... found a pup and I couldn't just leave her there alone." He moved into the cave and made for where he kept Lucy a stash of dried meats, knowing he promised the girl food. He pulled out a good chunk of meats and placed it down in front of the girl before looking around for Luce. His face betraying how tired he was but the smile staying all the while. The journey was long and entertaining for the pup, entertaining enough for her to forget about how hungry and tired she was. To forget how thin she was after lacking the promised food her mother offered before she left and never return. The girl did feel uncertain every now and then, but with how beautiful everything was on its way here, she quickly forgot all about that, all the sad things that wanted to bring her spirit down. She did her best to keep up with Bael, it was a tough task but Nova never knew the word exhaustion!
They reached the borders, marked borders of a pack. Nova had never been into a pack until now, as her life so far has been on a small rouge family. Never before had she had been with more than three wolves at once. Her face lightened up at the word food, a word even she with limited communication skills knew its meaning. And that was the main thing that drove her all the way here and into unknown lands. She had a second of doubt but soon enough she stepped into the borders and follows the big wolf like a little shadow, following each move he did. Checking everything with her eyes, every scent with her nose, and feeling every rock and texture with her big paws.
They walked past a den, then another one. One with funny smells. But at the entrance, she stopped in her tracks..finally, doubt was making a presence in her thoughts crowded by the wish to eat. She shrugs and hides behind the male, poking her head slightly to leak inside..but she doesn't say nor does anything further. Looking up trying to understand Bael's words. "Hi!"

Ooc: For the sake of helping things flow, I’m going to say this takes place after Gavroche’s death and vigil. Essentially Gav passed, Bellamy buried him, Bae-Syl left that dawn and when Lucy went to check on Bellamy she found out the news. This is later that day. Normally their wolves would have a funeral with the whole pack but with her father, due to the graphic nature of what had happened to him, once he had been brought back to Ethne Bellamy had worked on burying him. The ground had been hard, frozen due to it being winter in Auster, and her mother had torn up her paws ensuring her mate had a properly dug grave. She had worked around the roots of a tree as well, wanting to bury Gavroche where both sun and shade could rest over his final resting place when the seasons turned. Luce could hardly believe that Gav was gone… and scared, too. A murderer had been so close to their home, and now… she was going to have to give birth with just the aid of Bae. Would she be able to coach him through helping her? What if she bled out during the process? What if a pup got stuck? The loss was still far too fresh. After making sure her mother had some fresh salve on her paws Lucette had returned to her den and curled up on the hides Bae-Syl had padded their bed with. She had tried waiting up from him, eating only at the urging of Ruby, and when the night wore on she ended up laying down, feelings of sorrow and loss eventually lulling her into a sleep. She had been so deep in her sleep that she hadn’t heard Bae-Syl or the pup come in at first, though her companion, Ink, opened her eyes with a soft “prrf?” She had been sleeping next to Lucy, helping to make sure she stayed comfortable while Bae-Syl was gone. She could see Lucette starting to stir at Bae-Syl’s words though and so she padded to the spot she shared with Rush. Lucette blinked open her heavy eyes, not quite registering Bae’s words. Then, seeing the child behind him, her eyes flew open and she sat up. “Oh!” She frowned a little, blinking her eyes a few more times. “Hi there…” She greeted the child, her gaze sliding back to Bae-Syl. “Does mom know she’s here?” She frowned. Bae was already on thin ice with her mom… she didn’t think Bells would turn away a pup but if he hadn’t called at the border to warn her he was bringing her in she might get angry… but then again, given what had just happened to Gav… there was no telling how her mom would really respond. Luce had been sleeping and he couldn't blame her. She was getting massive, so big she looked like she could pop any day now. He worried though that she might explode from such a large bunch of pups. They still had no idea if it was many smaller pups or just a few massive ones. He hoped Gav would be able to tell them soon. When Nova hid behind his hock he gave a small chuckle. Seemed she might finally be getting cautious. Though he was glad that he had gotten to her before someone else with less than noble intentions. He waited for Luce to wake up fully before padding over and nuzzling her. He then sat as she spoke. He wasn't blocking her view of Nova but he was seated beside her. Bells had yet to arrive, so maybe she was still asleep. That was fine. Maybe he would speak with her before the morning patrol and before she visited Lucy and found Nova here. He looked back at Nova then back to Lucy as she asked if bells knew she was here. "I barked for her on the way here when I passed her den, but she might still be asleep. I'll tell her tomorrow morning if she doesn't come here within an hour or so." he lowered himself next to Lucy and turned so he could see both Nova and Lucy without alot of effort before loosing a yawn from his maw. "Besides she might eat me for bringing her here, but you would of killed me for leaving her there alone. And I know which of my poisons I pick." he gave her a grin. He nodded towards Nova then. "Feel free to eat and get some sleep Nova, the bed is plenty large. This is Lucy, my mate, she's really nice I promise." he did his best to coax the girl into relaxing. He probably was no good at this though. He glanced at Luce then and in a more hushed tone spoke so hopefully she would be the only one to hear and understand. "She said she hasn't seen her parents since this morning and she doesn't seem to speak as well as a two season pup should. She also seemed to have no concept of stranger danger." his ears pressed and he gave her a look that conveyed he was worried for this girl, hopefully. She seemed abandoned and uncared for. He couldn't even begin to imagine it. Walk, "talk", Think |

The pup was unsure about this but driven by hunger and the need for companionship made her ignore all the inner doubt she had against being with strangers. With following them away from where she last saw her parents.Who seemingly didn't care enough if they left her like that in te middle of nowhere. An easy target for predators. Yet with the promise of food, she was now into someone's pack, into someone's den. She remained using Bae syl as a shield, as if he would save her from any potential danger. But slowly that confidence known of hers started to kick in when she was offered a piece of meat...and with her ears pinned against her skull the young wolf started to eat...it was clear she was starving for how fast she was devouring the food..
"Lucy.." She tasted the new name, wanting to save it into her young mind. Finally, she finished her meal...the first meal in hours. The nourishment her body so much craved. Shyly she lay down on the floor. Curling up into a ball.

Lucy realized the answer to her question before Bae-Syl even had a chance to answer. Even if Bae-Syl had howled for Bellamy at the border her paws were in no state to travel that far right now. The girl frowned, realizing that Bae had no clue that one of their own, her father, had been murdered. The girl’s ears fell and she sighed softly, but still, her gaze shifted to Nova. The pup was young… Who would leave such a sweet girl on her own? “Poor little sweetheart. We’ve got enough room on the bed for another. Why don’t you come up here where it is warm and soft?” Bae-Syl wasn't wrong. Especially with Gav being slain, if Lucy found out he had left a puppy all alone she would have freaked out and demanded he try to find her again. If it wouldn’t have been too late. The child would utter her name, as if trying to commit it to memory. Lucy worried for her. She looked exhausted, hungry, and possibly a bit neglected as well. Lucy’s heart ached for her. Would she be able to learn to trust them? Would she be alright here in Ethne? As the sweet child curled up on the den floor Lucette would look back to Bae-Syl, frowning as he explained what had happened. She gave a small nod, a bit of worry reflecting in her own gaze. “You did the right thing.” She would glance at Nova, then toward Bae-Syl, lowering her voice. “But… I have some… some rough news. My father was murdered in Grapevine Cathedral. My mother is in a bit of a state, mentally and physically. Her paws are pretty messed up from digging out his grave in this weather…” Lucy pressed again him, squeezing her eyes closed as she fought back a fresh wave of tears that threatened to come. “We don’t know who did it either… Mom has his scent, but from what she said it was brutal… They… they ripped his wings and head off…” Not to mention cracked open his ribs, removing two of his vital organs. Lucy shuddered, giving a soft whine. "Talk," 'Think.' |

Gavroche’s loss felt surreal. Bellamy couldn’t believe it had happened, despite the fact she had buried her mate herself. She had sat vigil with him. She hadn’t yet slept. There was medicine from Lucette on her paws, and Bellamy had barely moved since coming back to the den. Her mind was trying to process why anyone would do such a cruel thing to such a gentle creature. Gavroche would have never hurt anyone, or anything. She released a small sigh. Gavroche didn't deserve the death he got. He didn’t deserve to be punished in such a cruel way, when all he had offered in life was light and love. The bastard who did this would get what was coming to him… but Bellamy needed to recover. At least a little bit. She lay awake, ears pinned against her skull as she watched over her children. Would the bastard kill again? Would he try to take one of her babies next? A call from Bae-Syl got Bellamy’s attention and the woman blinked. What could he possibly want at this hour? Bellamy glanced at her children with a sigh. They were all still sleeping soundly. She would lay there a few moments before painfully getting to her paws. It wasn’t easy to stand on her damaged pads, and she limped slowly to her daughter’s part of the cave. She would enter the den and arched a brow immediately seeing the child curled on the floor. She was a stranger, and a colorful one at that. Her tired gaze slipped from the kid to Bae-Syl and Lucy. She could see Luce was upset and she could only imagine that her daughter had filled Bae-Syl in about what had happened to Gavroche. The Leader sighed softly. “What is her name?” Her words were quiet, almost defeated. Not like Bellamy at all. She would wait for Bae-Syl to answer, and perhaps offer up further explanation about why there was a strange pup in their lands. |

Nova felt unsure but hunger drove her to eat despite the slight nervousness that was starting to get into her soul. But taking a deep breath she did her best to hold on, to stay strong. These were all strangers but this was better than being all alone in rouge lands.. She wondered where her parents had gone to, her ears pinned as another wolf came..she shrugs and finishes eating a bit too fast and nods..curling up into a ball in the corner. Giving herself space between her and them. Using her tail to cover her face and try to sleep...wondering what will be of her here.
(feel free to skip to this point as she is now trying to fall asleep unless you need to talk to her any further!)
