Maki was sad and soggy. The sogginess was not the cause of her low mood- no no no, the warm pool within the Col was really nice. So nice her mums and dad spent so much time here! Rather she'd been thinking about a story her Daddy had told her and it did not have a happy ending. Usually that was okay, Maki liked the drama of things not always working out, but this one was REALLY sad, like her throat felt all lumpy and her heart fluttered in a hurtful way, like maybe she was gonna cry sorta way.

If one they hadn't been betrayed! Then the star crossed overs could have lived together till the end of time, unable to touch one another like a moon's reflection upon still waters...Oh, she liked that line, it was real pretty and poetic and- shh, she was supposed to be sad.

She glanced down at her reflection as she lingered in the hot spring, sighing dramatically, ears slumped down as she sagged her shoulders, like the weight of the world was far too much.
