She had spotted a young buck roaming near the pack land, and Medusa had a mind to catch it and make a meal out of it. Other pack members had yet to call any sort of hunts and stuff, so she was getting a bit irritated at the lack of stepping up 'round here. What gave? Was she being too nice or somethin'? Taking advantage of her kindness or what? Faces were becoming less and less familiar. So as her first course of action, she made a wide circle around the buck she'd been watching and threw her head back, calling for the hunters of the pack to come meet her! And they best be quick about it if they knew what was good for 'em!

As her mate and *ahem* protective detail, Erebos may crash her threads at anytime!

Please note: Medusa is a wildcard! While she is mostly kind, friendly, and eager to help, she can equally be cold, aggressive, and eager to murder you depending on how you treat her! She refers to herself and often, others, in the third person (illeism), and occasionally has tics due to her Tourette's and may giggle and laugh at random, and may twitch here and there. She is a blood & gore type of character, and is not above killing, maiming, or other such violent actions if she's given a reason to do so. It's often in your best interest to not cross her or get on her bad side. Ya never know what she might do c:

Ghoul would be a man that kept his promises. Even if he heard the howl and knew that he probably would not be of much use in a hunt, he would still show. His going was as fast as he could manage toward the meeting point. From a distance, he could see Medusa circling the buck. There was already fear in the prey’s eyes as it huffed and took a defensive stance. At a hobbling lope, he approached Medusa and paused to assess their advantages. “I can’t run as fast as I used to yet, but if Medusa drives it toward me, I will be able to help take it down,” Ghoul always spoke straight forward to Medusa since it would be the best way for her to understand. Moving his ruby gaze from Medusa to the stomping and huffing buck, Ghoul could begin to feel the excitement of the chase build up in him.

Medusa's call was met with enthusiasm from Cricket. She hadn't ever been allowed to take part in a pack hunt, like, ever! Ghoul had already beat her there so she darted under his chest, resting her tiny front paws on his much larger ones, her tail whacking his back legs as it waved at her back. "Don't worry slowpoke, I'm fast enough for both of us! I'll help Medusa chase!"

With that settled as far as she was concerned, she jumped forward, her toes tapping the grass excitedly, ears turned forward as she tried to look for what it was they were hunting. Her movements ceased and she swallowed heavily when she spotted the buck. It was SO HUGE! But then again, she knew that everything seemed a whole lot bigger to her. She wasn't on her own, and she'd be ok. Maybe...

Her tail resumed it's wave again while she waited to see if anyone else would be joining them.

There was a call for the hunters of the pack and, even if she wasn’t the most experienced, Morticia would eagerly answer the call. Hunting alone was one thing, but if she could hunt with others that would be even better! Maybe she’d even get good enough to become whatever rank her mother designated for the head of the hunters! Yes! Eager paws would have the girl surging forward and, flying after her, Dagg came flapping his wings furiously to keep up with the energetic young wolf. Morticia was becoming more and more eager about doing more things within the pack lands and, before long, she would start to delve into the neighboring lands in search of more interesting prey. She was getting used to catching rabbits and fish, but that was getting boring! She wanted to hunt something bigger.

So when she caught sight of the buck, and her mother, Ghoul, and the green kid girl on the other side of the huffing and stomping buck. Morticia’s gaze shifted towards the buck though, saliva dribbling down her chin as she eagerly dug her claws into the soil. She wouldn’t chase just yet though, knowing well enough that it would take more than just her efforts to take it down. She would have to wait for the others, but at least she could come at the buck from another angle. Her tail lashed back and forth above her, ears twitching as her gaze would dart from the buck to the other wolves. All she needed was to wait for her mother’s signal. Dagg would circle around the buck from the skies above, his gaze focused on the buck,

She didn't have to wait long before Ghoul joined her, shortly followed by Cricket. She waited a few minutes to see if anyone else showed up, but to her disappointment, it seemed she was short a hunter or two. Wasn't that red guy and Taz interested in hunting? She hadn't seen them doing a whole lot for some time, and was growing concerned. And where was Morticia? Medusa was certain her daughter would be ecstatic about this! Huffing, Medusa glanced at the buck and her eyes lit up. Oop, there she was! She spotted her daughter on the other side of the buck. Good! Maybe this would help drive it easier! Turning towards Ghoul and Cricket, she grinned. "Medusa is glad to see you two! So! Since Ghoul is still a slowpoke, Medusa and Cricket will circle around to the side of the prey, and Morticia will drive it from behind. See? There she is!"

She turned towards her daughter's direction and frantically waved at her before returning to Ghoul and Cricket. "The prey do not like the tar pits. So Cricket and Medusa will be on the side away from the pit, and the three of us will chase it to Ghoul. If it runs from Ghoul, we chase it to the sticky pits. Maybe it runs back to Ghoul, or us, or goes to the Pits, but either way, food is dead." She grinned. Sounded like a solid plan to her! And just to be sure Morticia understood, Seymour made his way to the girl to relay the message.

Crickets tail continued to wave as Medusa explained the plan. It made sense since Ghoul was big and slow that they would bring the food to him, but she was still a bit anxious about the massive size of the buck, but there was safety in numbers right? She shouldn't have to get too close, would she?

With the plan all laid out she gave a nod and bounded forward to get into position. The grass was a double edged sword, it provided her plenty of cover, short as she was, but it also obscured her vision. She kept having to stop and pop up on her hind legs to make sure she was in the right spot, and her pack mates were close to their positions too. Finally, she thought she was close enough, all she had to do was help them make it run, and try to stay clear of those hard, sharp hooves. Piece of cake, right?

Ghoul would shine a small smile in Morticia’s direction before turning his attention back to Medusa. While the buck in question was indeed large, he was sure they would be able to take it down. With there being four of them, surely it would be simple. Right? His eyes moved from Medusa back to Morticia then to Cricket and back to Medusa. Silently, he questioned the skill level of the other three. Knowing Medusa was good enough that they could take the buck down just the two of them, but with his crippled state, they had to rely on the help of the other two. Well, it would be a learning experience, wouldn’t it?

“Whenever you’re ready,” he stated simply as he watched Cricket bound forward to get into place. Giving his own body a stretch, he began to amble over to his own position so he would be ready to take the large animal down.

Eager as Morticia was, she knew well enough that acting too quickly could ruin their hunt. She was in a good position, and she could feel energy pulsing through her as she wiggled in place, gaze flicking from her companion in the sky back to the location of the other three. Finally, it seemed Medusa and the green girl, Cricket, had noticed her. Morticia would wave back eagerly, a large grin on her maw. They had enough hunters to take this buck down, no questions asked at all! And her mother’s companion came to relay what was said too! Perfect! She just had to wait for the other two to move and get into position first, then she could start it running. Morticia would hunker down a little, trusting in the eyesight of the airborne companions to signal when she would need to lunge forth. She would be ready!

It didn’t matter where the buck ended up going, it would be food, and the food would be tasty. She would bring some to the pale friend too. He was too sad, and he needed lots of cheering up! Her claws would dig into the Earth, waiting, ears perked forward, until at last Seymour told her Cricket and Medusa were ready. Morticia would bound forward, and despite her usually enthusiastic nature, she would move with more discipline now on the hunt. She wasn’t as skilled as her mother, but she had been learning about the best ways to avoid getting hit while keeping the prey going where you wanted it. A bit more of a risk taker, the girl would dodge a flying off as she barked and snapped at the buck’s heels. The game was on, and they’d need the help of every player to ensure that the wolves won and the buck lost and became lunch!

Medusa hurried to get into position, hunkering down as she slowly stalked forward and closer to the buck. He was as big as they came, maybe a little bigger, so this would last them a while! It took a great deal of control to keep herself from getting too excited, but would it really matter with the four of them? Not only that, but her other two companions lurked close by, hiding in the taller grass to redirect the buck should he stray off course. Seymour flew around with Morticia and her bird to make sure she wouldn't get hurt, and as soon as Morticia started running, it was game on! Medusa charged forward, racing closer to the startled buck as he ran damn near close to where they wanted to herd him.

Morticia was hot on his heels, so Medusa took one side and practically met it shoulder to shoulder, jaws snapping at his front leg in an effort to get him to stumble. The white of the buck's eyes showed, spurring her onward as she cackled with wild mirth. She steered it with careful and calculated movements while pushing it hard. All that was needed now was for Cricket on the other side to annoy it enough that it would run straight toward Ghoul's path!

Ghoul lay in wait as Medusa corralled the others into position. Watching the herd of deer lazily graze, he hunkered down deeper into the shadows. With the light of the afternoon blending his pale coat in with the surrounding grass, he was able to hide in plain sight. Allowing his muscles to rest a moment while he waited, his eyes continued to watch. Moving back and forth until the deer suddenly alerted. Their loud calls bugling across the plains as he saw Medusa burst forward with Morticia and Cricket. The herd scatters except for one.

A large buck with Medusa hot on its heels. Though it tries to slash large antlers in the wolves direction, it keep running in his direction. Flexing his toes, Ghoul prepares himself. As the buck nears, he waits for the right moment. Seconds pass and he can feel his adrenaline surge. Just as the buck was about to turn back toward the woods, Ghoul bursts from his hiding spot. Shooting forward toward the buck, he leaps at the buck's throat. Catching a hoof to the chest, Ghoul hangs on. Using his weight, he shifts and turns. With the help from the others, he can feel the buck tire and begin to slow.

There wasn't much to her, but she was annoying enough when she wanted to be. As Medusa ran along the large buck's flank, Cricket moved to the other, delivering annoying little nips to his legs and sides whenever he moved in her direction a little too far. Her tiny legs were burning, and so were her lungs, and just when she thought she might have to fall back, Ghoul leapt from his cover and grabbed the giant thing by the neck.

She was a bit too short to grab onto anything more than the delicate skin where it's foreleg met its belly, but there were some juicy arteries in there and if she managed to bite hard enough, she'd at least get it losing some more blood, hopefully slowing it enough for the rest to get in there and finish it off. The sight of Ghoul catching a hoof to the chest only drove her to bite harder, blood dripping from her chin and painting the ground red beneath her.

The chase was a thrill that Morticia adored. She kept on the buck, inching further along to be close to the front of the animal and guide it with her body. Her mother and Cricket were right there with her, tearing through flesh, keeping on the buck as they chased it toward Ghoul. Morticia chomped at it, her bites aiming to tear through flesh and causing bleeding rather than focusing on a hold. She was eager, the taste of blood lingering on her tongue. They were close, the deer almost ready to make a break for the woods, when Ghoul was on it. Now Morticia lunges for the limb closest to her and clamps down as she drops her weight into all her paws to help weigh it down.
