Mama bears rage

Kotori roamed along the volcano, wondering why someone would claim the land for their pack territory. What if the volcano came to life? Sure, it could affect Valta to but at least they would have time to react if needed. What about wolves on the volcano? Would they have time to flee? How much of a warning did volcanoes give? It also seemed rather barren for Kotori’s personal preference.
He was here more out of curiosity than looking for food or hoping to find something to kill but sometimes the bears just come to you. Mama bear had two cubs farther behind her. She wasn’t giving Kotori time to decide what he wanted to do, it was a hard and fast charge. If there was anything truly dangerous in the lands it was a mother protecting its kids. She was a massive grizzly and filled with rage.
Kotori gave her ground, backing up as she ran forward. He attempted to circle around but mom moved fast, making sure he couldn’t get past her in the direction of her children. Kotori pivoted back away from the kids and mom moved less swiftly to follow, hesitating her barrier to the children. That gave Kotori the opening he needed for a fast bite to her shoulder. He only got a moment though before the raging bear raised up her bulk partway and attempted to crush him a second later.

Home. That was what this desolate place had once been. His home where his family had lived in peace. Life had thrown a wrench in, forcing them to flee as the pack fell in the hands of Medusa. Anger boils beneath the surface as Enki’s paws trace once familiar paths when the roar of a mother grizzly catches his attention. The scent of a slightly familiar wolf comes with the musk of a mother and cubs and that is all the motivation the pink wolf needs.
Paws thunder across the rocky terrain as a growl builds in his chest. Bursting onto the scene, he spies Kotori and the mother grizzly locked in battle. Coming up behind the angry ursine, the boy realizes that he will pass the cubs that she is trying to protect. Rage, pure and raw takes over the hurting boy’s mind and he lashes out at the closest cub as he passes.
He delivers a painful bite that causes it to cry out in pain and force the mother to take her attention away from Ko. A cruel smile is on his lips as the bear turns toward him, readying to roar. Enki is in her face in a flash, shredding its nose with his teeth. She roars and tries to strike him but the pink wolf deftly falls out of the range of attack.

Kotori lunges in at mom then backs away and forward one more as he and the bear seem to dance in time. Really, he’s being extra cautious but this is also a great deal of fun as the bear keeps him on his toes more than a number have.
A cub cries out in pain and mom turns to attack the wolf that had come up from behind. In her full need to protect her child, it seems she already forgot Kotori existed. The wolf leaps up onto her back, teeth biting into the bear’s skull, an attempt to actually crack through that instead of digging up her neck. He hadn’t tried this approach before but it seemed worth a test.
Unfortunately, the skull doesn’t want to crack, at least not as fast as Kotori would like. The movement also proved something mom knew she couldn’t ignore, not if she wanted to live to defend her child. The bear rears up to full height making Kotori leap off her backside, a slight stumble on a right forefoot but quickly spinning about in perfect balance again. Oh well, cracking the skull would have been pretty awesome and he was quite sure she had a monster headache now but back to just ripping her open to bleed out.

Enki tears up the nose of the grizzly, anger pushing him to be more reckless than usual. Kotori gets on the bear’s back and, when she tries to shift her attention away from the pale pink boy, he rushes in and tears into her cheek. Eyes blaze with an intense fire as he opens wounds on her face, the injustices done to his family coming out in a raw, violent form. With a roar, she slams a paw toward him and the boy is forced to retreat while she rears up and unseats the earthen male.
The flames of hatred lick at his mind and, while this grizzly had nothing to do with what happened to his family, Enki takes all of his the rage out on her. With a snarl, he rushes back in, not waiting for her to return to all fours and, instead, leaps up to grab the underside of her throat. The angle, momentum he has behind him, and the bear’s attempt to swing her head away leads to the creature stumbling and falling over backwards. He follows after her teeth latched onto her throat as he thrashes his head about and opens wounds.

This kid was angry about something and seemingly more than just a dislike of bears. He was fighting with an all-out offensive technique and Kotori wasn’t sure how much he was bothering with thoughts of defense. The rage was palpable and the bloodlust seemed to shine in his eyes. A good bloody fight was always a solid way of venting out one’s wrath.
The fight took a surprise turn when the boy gets the bear to actually fall over! Kotori is fast to dash away from the bear to avoid its falling form and run right back in. His teeth find purchase in the bear’s stomach. Ripping open flesh so his teeth can latch onto the fragile organs within. The bear would die and the sounds of scraping rubble come to Kotori’s ears.
Until the mom is dead he dares not fully look away no matter how obvious it was death would take her. Last-ditch attacks before death could be dangerous to not see.
Still, his eyes flicked up to spot the two cubs farther off. They were too scared to get close but too scared to run away. They wouldn’t survive without Mom. They’d be next.

All the anger that Enki feels about life and the events that have lead him to this point, he takes out on the bear. Fur bristles as his jaw stays clamped around the creature’s throat and the boy thrashes his head, sending hot blood arching through the air. The grizzly flails in a last-ditch effort to knock him away but the boy remains in place. The stranger rushes in, opening its belly and rupturing organs.
It groans loudly and Enki finally pulls away, taking a section of its wind pipe with him. Blood gushes out of the wound and air makes it bubble as the bear gurgles, eyes beginning to bulge as it can no longer draw air. The damage the two wolves have caused are fatal and it only takes moments for the bear to slip away. Its body stills, the fight and life now gone from its eyes. Turning, he spies the young cubs as they mewl pitifully for their mother.
He stalks toward them, ready to end their lives so that they will not have to try and survive without their mother. Through the haze of rage, Enki feels a rather painful pang of pity.
