Mortis hadn’t seen Dee around since he had returned to the Armada. The mute girl liked to collect herbs for Halo. as far as he could tell, none of her memories had resurfaced. But he wanted to check in with her. Ensure that she was happy with things the way they were, and that there wasn’t anything more that they could be doing for her. Halo told him that Dee could be found out in the North side of the woods, gathering herbs for her. He didn’t like to go too far from Halo so soon before the kids were born, but he also knew he couldn’t hover that much. So he left his Kea watching over, and made his way into the woods. “Dee, are you there?” He called out as he approached the location Halo had mentioned. "Speech"

When she wasn’t busy learning how to hunt, Dee could be found tagging along with Halo or tending to her gardens. Since Halo was very pregnant, Dee happily took over pulling weeds and cleaning out any pests before the colder weather arrived. Surprisingly, it was coming faster than she had expected. Unused to the lands of Boreas, as Halo called it, Dee tried to adjust without showing any signs of have trouble. Still, there were times when the wind was high or the clouds were heavy, that she would shiver and wish her coat was thicker already.

Keeping busy with the weed pulling, Dee didn’t mind the morning temperatures that day. Mild and decently sunny, she kept count of how many dandelions she had pulled. Putting those in a pile off to the side, she looked up when she heard a familiar voice. A bright smile crossed her face and her tail began to wag excitedly at the sight of Mortis. Quickly abandoning her task, Dee bound over to Mort and reached out to press her cheek against his shoulder for a moment before pulling away.

Taking a few steps back, she sat down and looked up at him. Tilting her head slightly to the left, she gave him a curious look as if to ask what he was doing out here, instead of tending to Halo’s needs.

He didn’t have to wait long. After calling her name, he saw the tawny wolf bounding towards him. He grinned at the yearling, already moving a wing to offer her an embrace if she wished for it. When she pressed her cheek against his shoulder, he draped his wing lightly around her. There was no pressure beneath his soft wing, and she could pull away without any trouble if she wished. As she took a step back and looked at him, he believed he understood her question well enough. “I was just coming over to check in and see how you were doing” He explained. “Are you happy?” He asked softly, looking at the mute carefully. "Speech"
