The speed and severity that spring came with, was nearly enough to startle the young boy. There was so much of it and so quickly. Quick enough to make his head spin, actually. Quick enough, hard enough, fast enough... wow. Way too fast, actually, if you asked him. It was like one day he was comfortable romping and running around with his siblings and anyone else he could goad into playing with him, and the next day? The next day it was darn near too hard to breathe! Like trying to inhale through soup. The humidity was enough to make Vendrick feel sluggish right down into his bones. But he still wanted to be outside. He still wanted to be outside so darn badly. So he was going to do it. Still, after only a few minutes of playing and exploring, chasing butterflies and sniffing flowers... yeah, after just a few minutes he was getting tired. Not just tired-tired, either. Sleepy tired. Vendrick gave a big yawn and sought the shade of one of the big, comfy trees on the front yard of the castle. Slumping down, head on his paws, back resting against the sturdy trunk. Yeah. He'd just nap for a little bit, while it was perhaps the warmest spring day he'd ever lived. |

Had anyone ever told her that the shade was better off of the ground, Bramble would have taken to climbing trees a lot sooner. Now that she was nearly fully grown, getting her large body up into the tree was proving rather difficult. Thankful for her sharpened claws to help her into the lower limbs, the young princess found herself enjoying being up in the air. Though she was dire in size, the old trees scattered through the grounds were strong enough to hold her slim form. It would prove to be good at climbing trees that day since the humidity hung like jelly in the air. Thick and sticky, it clung to her coat and everything around her. Feeling lazy and wanting to avoid her duties for the day, Bramble lounged on a limb. Her paws hung below her as her chin steadied against a knot in the bark. Her eyes were half closed, basically dozing, when the heavy thumps of a puppy's steps roused her. Flicking both ears forward, Bramble's teal eyes search the gardens from her perch. Staying still as a shadow, she watches until the sight of her younger brother, Vendrick, appears. He too appears drowsy and sluggish from the warm spring day. Proving her suspicions correct as the puppy plops down to take a nap, Bramble smirks. Suddenly, she slips her large form from the trees and lands on the ground with a loud thud. "Vendrick!" She squeals as she splays out all of her legs and lets her tail thump against the ground. "What're you doing out here?!" Bramble exclaims, her smile wide as she looks at her brother, hoping she had started him at least a little bit. Bramble Carpathius

Abruptly, Vendrick is pulled from his nap by a thud and a crash. His eyes snapped open, heart racing in his little chest. His ears pinned to his skull, and he shied away from the sudden abundance of noise. Not only had he jumped, but he'd nearly jumped out of his skin. It took the pup a moment to steady himself, eyeing his sister as he did. Ven wasn't quite sure what to make of the intrusion, his head spinning as he sorted out which end was up, still foggy and sleepy. "Buhh-ramble, whyyyy?" He whined, flopping back over on his side now that he knew he wasn't in danger. A puddle on the ground in his nap spot, the shady place beneath the tree. Crumpled, just like his attitude in that moment. "I was tryin' to nap," emphasis on trying. Trying, until she'd come to wake him up. Not quite in tantrum mode (though likely not that far off either), Vendrick remained puddled on the floor. "What're you doing, other than trying to keep me from nappin'?" The boy eyed her, finally rolling back onto his belly. |

Humor crinkles at the edges of her eyes as she watches her younger brother act out dramatically. The way he drags his syllables and flops around is too funny. She even lets out a little chuckle as she sits her own caboose down on the grass. With the shade of the tree keeping them cool, she waits until he is finished being all flippy floppy. "Venny, I'm bored so I was practicing climbing trees," Bramble beams a smile at her brother when he rolls onto his belly. "Not sure if you know, but I have claws like mama does," she even lifts a paw to show her cat-like claws off to Vendrick. Her tail continues to thump on the ground as she slides her long legs forward until her own belly is nestled in the grass. "Naps are for puppies. We should do something fun," Bramble reaches a paw forward to boop him on the nose. If he decided to throw a tantrum, oh well. At least it would be funny. Bramble Carpathius
