Critical Attack!
08-29-2023, 07:51 PM

The late fall day holds a bite as Malico makes his way through the northern land. Being born on an island, the boy is used to chilly temperatures but, as a gust of wind catches his tall form, he realizes he is not built for the cold northern winters. It is late afternoon, bordering on early evening as the purple boy trots along the length of the crumbled way, looking for a spot to leap through as he makes his way back to Elysium land. Adventure has been calling the young lad and he had gone to the caves near the Armada lands for fun.

Mal had not expected to meet another soul in there but he had and the Armada Princess had a chip on her shoulder the size of the whole continent. Something about her is intriguing and he knows that he will seek her out again but, as the sun had begun its descent across the sky, the boy had excused himself to begin the trek back to Elysium lands. As he reminisces about the pretty lady, the boy comes to spot in the wall that has crumbled low enough that he can easily clear it, so the Mendacium boy does just that and leaps across the stone barrier to land easily on the other side.

Long legs push him onward, towards the safety of Elysium and his family as his thoughts begin to drift off into the fall air. A sudden influx of noise fills the air and Malico pulls to a stop to try and figure out just what the hell is happening. Several deer race toward the tall boy, eyes wide with fear and nostrils flaring in panic as they flee… something. The ground shakes from the sheer force of the large number of deer racing toward him and all the boy can do is watch. Thankfully, the prey animals are smart enough not to get too close to him as all move to clear the wall with surprising ease.

The whole scene is strange, amazing, and a little bit terrifying given the massive number of deer that have just passed by him. Just as Malico begins to question what the creatures are running from; the answer suddenly lumbers into view. A large grizzly hastily makes its way toward him, its own eyes wide and wild with fear. Something has frightened not only a large number of prey animals but a predator as well. The bear spies his purple form standing out in stark contrast against the gray stone of the crumbling wall and it roars its anger at him.

A brow lifts as if to silently say, ’Really?’ as Mall stands tall, his paws firmly planted as he awaits the grizzly bear’s decision. If it turns around and runs, the boy will not pursue it but bears are stupid and never take the correct option. It picks up speed, barreling toward the Mendacium boy with all the force of a run-away freight train. A sigh falls past his dark lips as the boy waits, reading the grizzly’s plan of attack from a mile away. The ground shivers with each thundering paw-step that the bear slaps heavily onto it but the boy is not frightened and holds his ground.

The beast roars as it nears, hoping to squish the boy against the stones behind him. Malico is never one to back down from a fight and, as it closes the gap, the boy suddenly springs into action. In one, smooth motion, he pushes himself off to the side and out of the way of the charging grizzly’s way. It couldn’t slow down enough to stop from hitting the wall and, as the unstoppable force meets an immovable object, the world shakes in response. As the creature’s legs buckle and a dazed look crosses its features, Mal moves, taking the opportunity to sink his obsidian claws deep into the fat and flesh of the bear’s back.

Another roar, this one of pain, fills the air and the bear lashes blindly out. Malico dances away from sharp teeth and claws, avoiding injury as the grizzly regains its senses and rounds on him. Snarls fill the air as boy and beast clash underneath the waning sun.

Life has been strange for Enki since his mother’s untimely end. Something inside him had broken and taken away all his emotions. Yet, despite the weirdness that he has felt, the boy has found himself a friend that does not put off by him. Tazzy has been on the pale pink boy’s mind a lot lately and he often finds himself wanting to seek out the joyful youth just so he can simply be in presence. Still, the strange things that have been happening to the pale boy have not gone away and his memories seems to be full of holes. He still wakes up in strange places with no idea of how he got there.

Case in point.

Eyelids sluggishly blink over baby eyes as Enki seems to rouse himself, as if from a deep slumber, even as he continues to walk. Immediately, the boy stops and attempts to figure out where he is. The pale pink wolf has long since given up on trying to understand the why of the situation and moved on to simply accepting these trance-like excursions. Blue eyes land on the crumbling stones that mark the wall in the northern lands and his brow lift in astonishment at the fact that is the furthest he has wandered away before.

Turning himself in the direction of Insomnia lands, Enki starts to move back home when a cacophony of sounds fill the air. Gentle aftershocks reach his toes and the boy looks around in confusion. He is far enough away to not be able to spy the source of the disturbance and he simply waits for everything to settle down. The shivering of the earth finally subsides and he waits a few more moments to make sure nothing else is going to happen but the peace of the day is ruined again as a grizzly’s roar rings through the air.

The boy scents the air as his brain finally spools up to real time and he finds that there is a pack wolf close to the enraged creature. Long legs push Enki forward, sending him racing along the length of the wall as more roars and snarls fill the air and, even though they are not a part of his pack, the boy knows he needs to help them. He arrives to find another tall boy facing off against the enraged beast, the bear’s back now facing the wall as the purple yearling dances away from striking claws. Enki does not hesitate as adrenaline fills his veins and sharpens his thinking.

The unknown boy strikes out with black feline like claws, opening bloody wounds across the grizzly’s face and it roars once more. Enki races up to them and is suddenly in the creature’s space, teeth flash as he strikes out at the underside of the grizzly’s throat, grabbing the fat and flesh and tears them open. A paw swings at him and the boy is forced to dance away to avoid injury. He comes to a stop near the stranger, glancing over at the other boy as he attempts to read their plan of attack.

The grizzly interrupts them, slamming a paw into the pale pink wolf’s right shoulder and sends him sprawling. Blue eyes blink slowly as he stares up at the sky from where he is laying, allowing the pain to filter into his mind as he wonders where he had gone wrong. Even with his shoulder sore and claw wounds bleeding, the boy tries to get back on his paws to help the stranger he had come here to help.

Now that she was Warlady of the pack, Isa thought it would be a good idea to learn more of her surroundings. It couldn't hurt and she wanted to be as helpful as she could to both Sirius and the Armada. It really was her pack now. Not that it hadn't been before, but knowing that Sirius saw her in equal standing made things much more concrete. And so Isa left Armada lands and made her way towards The Wall. Or at least where she was told that a wall would be.

Before the woman even reached the supposed wall, she heard a commotion up ahead. Snarls and growls mixed with yelps. Canine yelps. Wasting no time, the blue fae tore across the chilly landscape, making a beeline for the sounds. Upon arrival, blue eyes took in the scene of two wolves, young wolves, going up against a giant bear. The mothering instinct ramped into high gear and, before she knew it, Isa was running head first into the fray.

Taking the lessons that she'd learned from Sirius, the small woman ducked beneath the bears blocky skull while its attention was on the boys. She may have been small, but she was mighty. Teeth ripped into the underside of the bears jaw. She'd been aiming for the throat, but the ursine had moved at the last minute. The jaw would have to do.

With her teeth latched into the sensitive chin and lip flesh, the bear's attention was all on Isa now. It shook its head, but that only brought more pain to the bear. It began to back away, dragging the blue fae through the open land nearest the wall. She dug her claws in, shaking her head back and forth to bring even more pain. Isa didn't want to kill the bear, not that she could if she tried, but she wanted it to remember.

Once the bear had pulled her far enough from the boys, Isa released her hold on its chin, jumping back as far as she could before turning tail and running. The bear was of the same mind, also turning and running as fast as it could in the opposite direction. Hey, she wasn't so proud that she refused to run. It was the smart choice for both of them.
