The compact, sleek form drags up out of the water and shakes off; blood-red stains on the coat that do not leave indicate that Wrecker isn't bloody, but rather, that they just look this way.

Wrecker peers ahead of them. There are rotten iron hulks that shine with rust, and there are half-collapsed buildings overrun with moss and leaves and vines. It's all rather curious, and they swallow, digging their paws down into the sand.

Creeping forward slowly, head cocked in curiosity, Wrecker eases towards a smaller ship, the iron body turned onto its side; time has almost entirely gutted the internals of the ship, but Wrecker doesn't know that so much at all. Instead, they peer at it, sniff the air; salt and sea and metal meets their nose at once. Their tail flicks, and they jog a circle around the rotting ship-corpse.

"What happened to you, huh?" Wrecker muttered to nobody in particular, before advancing further inwards; they swept through several trees, dodging low-hanging vines as they approached one of the large wooden constructs. Once, they supposed, that building had to have been rather fancy. Now, it was... it smelled like traveling wolves and various creatures. Whatever had been there before was certainly gone now.

Sota shuddered as he climbed out of the water, giving his little body a shake to try to rid his fur off the water that clung tightly to it. Swimming wasn't really his favorite activity, but as he got older he tended to push himself further and further outside his comfort zone. Though he was beyond happy with his life in the castle and surrounding lands that The Hallows inhabited, he knew there was more to life than that - and he was still eager to explore the rest of the world, bit by bit, when he was able.

He'd been here before once, but he hadn't explored the island fully. That wasn't the sort of thing a wolf could do in a single day - especially with legs as short as his. When he'd first come here he'd been fascinated by one of the largest of the buildings, managing to squeeze his way inside through all the tangled moss that crawled up the sides of the crumbling walls. This time, though, he had no real mission in mind.

It seemed Sota wasn't the only one who had exploration in mind though. The scent of another wolf reached his nose and admittedly he was intrigued. Once he hadn't been quite so social but he certainly was now, always eager to greet anyone he came across. Everyone deserved a little kindness, at least as far as he was concerned, and he had more than enough to give. Picking up his pace and nearly scurrying across the island, he searched for the stranger among all the rubble, buildings and vegetation alike. When he finally saw them he'd let out a friendly bark, tail waving freely behind him. "Hello! Great day for a trip, isn't it?" He could only assume they weren't living here, but maybe he was wrong.

Wrecker lingered, just a moment longer. Their head tilted, and they regarded one of the large buildings with a sharp, immediately evident curiosity. They were many things-- and very few of them were friendly things, true-- but Wrecker was innately eager to understand the world around them. They had no pack, and as such, they were not bound to a territory; they ventured as they pleased. But when Wrecker saw a stranger, their ears perked up and they glanced at him, taking in his stripes and his overall demeanor. They smiled, then, and their tail raised in a friendly-enough little wag.

"It is!" While sometimes Wrecker had ulterior motives for being friendly, this seemed a genuine sort of welcome. Their tail flicked. "I think I saw something inside this building, here!" They gestured with their head towards the building behind them; it stood, and vines choked it. The building's doors were half-open. Some were off of their hinges. "Something shiny. If that sparks your interest."

The sun does glint off of a glittering... something, in the back of the building, in one of the rooms. Wrecker doesn't appear to care either way, though: "Have you been here before? I bet we can find some good spots."

See? They could be friendly.

His friendly demeanor was met with the same from the stranger, and Sota looked quite pleased with that, a smile creeping over his features. He was always pleased with some good conversation, and the chance to explore such a unique place with someone was always appreciated. "What sort of thing?" He inquired, head cocking to the side curiously.

Something shiny did spark his interest, especially in one of the buildings he'd yet to explore. Slowly he headed in Wrecker's direction, giving them another nod of acknowledgment as he moved closer. "I have. Just once, but I didn't spend long here. Explored that place back there," he gestured with his muzzle back the way he'd came, to one of the larger buildings near the docks.

"This is your first time here, then?" Sota asked, scrambling over vegetation as he closed the distance between the two of them, heading toward the door Wrecker seemed to be going for. "Oh, pardon my manners! The name's Sota," he added with a grin, tail waving above his back as he went.

Wrecker spotted the smile, and that made them feel especially pleased that they'd chosen to be nice. They weren't necessarily the most... kind soul in the land, yes, but they understood good company, and when it came to matters of exploration, they wanted to have someone to watch their back. "I don't know!" They said it cheerily enough, glancing back towards the shiny thing in the side room.

There were other places to go, as well -- the island had quite a bit of space. "We could also..." And the red-toned wolf did a little jog step a little distance away, jumping over a discarded chair and landing rather sharply. "See what surprises we can find?" While the thought of something shiny was pretty tempting, Wrecker didn't want to accidentally get into a situation that left them ... what, ambushed? Something like that.

There were plenty of other buildings to poke around in, too. Maybe some of them had shinier things?

Sota had long since realized that being kind meant he usually would get kindness in return, and that was exactly how he preferred it. It was a way of going through life that he was committed to, and this encounter was no exception. 'I don't know!' They exclaimed, though they also suggested maybe they could find something elsewhere. Either worked for Sota; he was just happy to have company as he explored this place rather than to do it alone.

He found his tail wagging a bit faster as the other wolf loped over a chair and landed on the other side. Exploring the island a bit further rather than diving into one of the buildings sounded just fine to him. He had no real goal in coming here, after all.

He noted the stranger didn't give him a name, which was no bother, but likewise it felt rude to not know how to address them. "What should I call you? If you don't mind me asking," he inquired as he followed after them.

He nearly tripped over something half-lodged in the ground; some old sharp contraption made of metal that he didn't quite understand the purpose of. Instead of dwelling on it though he'd try to keep up with Wrecker as best as his short legs allowed it, making up for his small strides with a quickened pace. "We could see what that area's all about," he suggested, gesturing toward a little courtyard that jutted off from the side of one building, featuring a high fence and what looked like old, derelict little sailboats left rotting there. They vaguely resembled the huge, beached cruise ship that lay at the edge of the island - but just barely.
