Talking with Bellamy, one of the guests of the Hallows, had gotten Elowen thinking. The woman seemed so lost, so sad, and hearing that she had lost the one she loved the most had sparked a protective feeling within the yearling. A feeling that wasn’t the same as fighting to protect someone, but a feeling of wanting to protect them all the same. It was strange, especially since the woman wasn’t part of the Hallows, but maybe that was okay. Maybe it was because she didn’t want her to hurt, and kindness could be given to anyone who needed it, right? It was with this thought that Elowen made her up the stairs of Hearthstone. She wanted to make sure Bellamy felt better, kind of like how she tried to talk to Meadow in an effort to help her calm down, or reassured her other sister and brother of their successes and efforts.
Maybe… maybe she didn’t want to be just a knight. She had been so caught up in her thoughts that, when she made it up the flight of steps she didn’t even notice the wolf that was in the hallway, walking right into them. Elowen flinched back, ears falling as she looked up at her grandmother. “Gram! Sorry about running into you.” She gave an apologetic smile. She needed to pay more attention to her surroundings.

Tamsyn stepped out of the infirmary with Gwynevere after getting her usual herbs and treatments from her daughter, giving her a kiss on the cheek before they parted ways and she began to make her way toward the castle’s central foyer. This spring would mark ten years on this plane and she was grateful that the worst of her problems were some sore joints and aches. Gwyn at least kept her comfortable and always insisted on giving her examinations even though she felt fine. She couldn’t blame her. After all, if she had the kind of mind and knowledge that her daughter had she was sure she would be checking up on all of her numerous family constantly to make sure they were healthy.
She was passing though on her way to the castle’s kitchen when she was suddenly intercepted by one of her grandchildren, blinking with surprise as Elowen bumped into her and she turned to find her blue and gold gaze looking back at her. Tam chuckled softly as the girl apologized and she gave a little shake of her head as she replied, “It’s fine, dear, no harm done.” Leaning closer, she gave her granddaughter a playful nuzzle on the top of her head before she leaned back again with a warm smile. “Where are you off to in such a hurry?”

Her grandmother was understanding, her voice soft as told Elowen that no harm had been done. El allowed the nuzzle, feeling relief wash over her that she hadn’t actually done anything that might have harmed the older wolf. “Good…” The last thing she wanted was to do harm to family. Her grandmother leaned back then, offering her a smile as she asked where she was off to, and the yearling shook her head in response. “Nowhere in particular, really, I was just so caught up in my thoughts that I forgot to pay attention to my surroundings.” She admitted. She would step to the side of the hall, a thoughtful look on her face.
“Actually… Gram, would you mind coming with me to talk? I’m… I think I could use some advice.” She gave the older shewolf a smile. She could have asked her mom and dad but… she wasn’t sure where they were at the moment and her grandmother was already here. Might as well take time to talk and bond with family while she had the opportunity, right? And maybe she could get some things figured out.

Tamsyn was, of course, curious when Elowen replied that she wasn't off to anywhere in particular, she had simply been distracted by her own thoughts. For someone so young she couldn't hazard a guess for what was weighing so heavily on the girl's mind, but she didn't want to pry either. She hoped that none of her grandchildren had too much troubling any of them, but she knew that wasn't realistic. No matter how hard she had tried as a mother herself she still hadn't been able to fully avoid hardships falling on her children so things were certainly bound to happen eventually. "Well, I hope that whatever has you so preoccupied isn't too bothersome," she replied with a gentle smile.
She was content to leave it at that and was ready to continue on her way when Elowen stepped aside, but to her surprise her granddaughter asked if she could come speak with her, seeking some advice. Tam's brows lifted with her surprise, but she would never deny any of her grandchildren a request for her time. All she could really hope for was to spend as many days as she had left in this life with her family and impart what knowledge and experience she had onto them while she still could. "Of course! Why don't we go sit in the lounge? I don't think anyone will be in there this time of day."
Leading the way, Tam walked this short distance down the corridor to the open lounge area that had plenty of sitting areas made up of plush pillows and furs, the several large windows on the far wall letting in plenty of warm sunlight. Luckily she had been right about the space being empty since most of the other pack wolves were out doing their usual chores and patrols. She picked one of the clusters of pillows in the corner in front of one of the windows and settled in with a soft sigh before looking to Elowen with another loving smile. "What's on your mind, darling?"
