Okay so she hadn't been here since her fight with Eraithus, and she was eager to get her fighting muscles up and running again! The skeletal marked woman sauntered onto the battlefield, a shit-eating grin on her face as she sought out a good spot where she could set up to fight someone, anyone, that might come her way. She didn't care who it was or really what the stakes were, she just wanted to chomp chomp chomp! Would a familiar face show up? Or someone unknown entirely? Would anyone show up at all? Her sharpened claws bit into the ground with impatience as she threw her head back, calling for someone to come fight her! "Medusa"

He was young but wanted to test his mettle. To see how far he had already advanced. It was the reason he was upon these lands. Paws kicked up dirt as he moved across the wasteland. Tumbleweeds blow by him as he looks at them with disinterest. These plains made sense as to why it was chosen for a battleground. Rarely muddy, the earth firm beneath him, relatively flat, and not much in the way of foliage. A place for wolves to go blow for blow with no advantages other than their body. Easy.

Akito mulled over this as he examined his environment. He kept tabs on everything he could utilize until he heard the calling sound of someone else. Ears move forward as he looks around to spy a lanky woman with skeletal markings. Without much thought to it, Akito turns himself toward the woman and approaches. "You looking to fight?" The pup calls out as he closes the distance. Coming to a stop before her, he waits to see what she has to say before beginning.

Head turns to find...another pup!? Oh goodie! Not that she enjoyed beating them up, no. She enjoyed fighting them because it was an opportunity for them to learn! Medusa grinned as the young boy approached her, and her tail set to wagging. "Yes! Medusa is looking for a fight! Is the boy going to fight her?" She asked curiously. She didn't see any parents around, so obviously, he was here to do just that. She cocked her head to the side, the scent on his fur sorta familiar but also not really. Vague, probably. She wasn't too familiar with the pack scent on his coat, buuut it didn't matter, she supposed. As long as he went home with all his limbs intact, everything was fine! "Horned boy goes first!" She grinned again, giggle a bit as she settled into her defenses. "Medusa"

The boy is unsure as to why the older woman is so... giggly. Her good-natured attitude is not off-putting enough to make him leave, but it leaves him uncertain. Were they not here to spar? Why be in such good spirits when blood would be shed? Did she have a screw loose? His brow furrows as he nods slowly in response. At least fighting her would be different, perhaps unpredictable. Eyeing her up and down, he sets his defenses before propelling himself forward.

Akito is still a pup and while he finds himself more calculating than pups his age, he knows that she is more experienced. He can see it in the scars along her fur, the way she stands there, ready even if her bubbly demeanor would say otherwise. As he rushes forward, he stretches his legs with each step. Nearing the skeletal-colored woman, Akito lunges away from her and toward a decent-sized rock nearby. Leaping onto the rock, he twists and pushes himself toward her shoulder to get better leverage. Opening his jaw, he aims to latch onto her shoulder and hopefully stick the landing.

This kid was quiet! Nothing Medusa said got a response! But that was fine, not everybody liked to talk. Or maybe Medusa talked too much? She didn't think too much about it, because eventually, she did get some sort of response. Not a spoken one, mind, but he did go into action! She waited for his approach, preparing herself for the usual head-on thing and stuff like that. But instead, he veers away from her and toward a rock. Was...was he blind, maybe? He was going to fight a rock!? The sudden change confused her, and before she knew it, this kid was jumping and twisting in the air. She stared in awe, forgetting for a moment that this was supposed to be a spar. It's not until he gets closer that she has an oh shit moment, and it isn't until he latches onto her shoulder that she reacts. She yelps in surprise, rearing onto her hind legs as she twists and turns to try and shake him off. Jaws reached for him, any part of him, to pull him off of her shoulder. That was a cool surprise move, but not one that she liked when it hit her! He had been quick enough to surprise her. Digging his puppy teeth into her shoulder, he hopes to stay latched on. Unfortunately, that would prove to be difficult as the woman doesn't waste any more time. Akito feels her rear up onto her hind legs and begins twisting around like a crazy lady. He growls as he reaches his paws forward to try and wrap his legs around her leg.

When he feels her teeth rip at his scruff, he finally relents. Pulling away from her shoulder, Akito drops to the ground. He feels the sting of opened skin along his neck and shoulder from where she had bit and pulled at him. Bristling further and letting out another growl, Akito pushes forward as soon as his paws hit the dirt. Shifting and twisting his own body so he was moving toward her back paws. If she hadn't landed and resituated herself yet, maybe he could bash into her hind legs and topple her over.

Her teeth caught his scruff and she yanked him off of her, but not without his sharp needle-like teeth causing a ruckus on her shoulder. It stung and the pain was sharp, but nothing she couldn't manage later! She released him almost as soon as she grabbed him, however. At least until she could get her wits about her and figure out what else was going on. But it turned out he was just a bit faster. Before she could situate her balance, he charged at her hind legs and her hips went flying sideways and Medusa fell in quite the awkward manner. Curses! She loved pups, but boy did she hate fighting them! Or at least strangers' pups, because she felt she couldn't go all out for fear of hurting them, and also, she didn't want their parents to come running up on her if she did accidentally hurt one! It was a lose-lose situation for her, or so she felt. She had to hold herself back to minimize the risks...and she didn't like the idea of hurting a child, anyway. But alas, maybe falling over on him would end the match.
