Winter is in full swing in Boreas and that means that the small Auster girl is miserable. For Haydée it should be summer and warm but, as she makes her round to certain packs in Boreas, the girl cannot help but feel depressed by the weather. Thankfully, Sirius of the Armada had given her a coat to keep her warm as she makes her way out of the mountain ranges and the girl sends him another silent thanks as she goes. She is cutting through the Polar Sound so she can approach Elysium’s borders since her mother had said that they are on good terms with the pack. Halfway toward the cliffs, the dark clouds that have followed her, open up and unleash their fury, pelting her and the world with hail and rain.

The frozen pieces of water are small and more of an annoyance than actually dangerous and the girl pulls the coat more tightly around her shoulders against the rain. She takes every opportunity she can to duck underneath the safety of nearby trees to avoid the worst of the hail and rest. It is under one of those towering giants that a stranger’s voice reaches her ears. “Well, hello there little one.” Their words are filled with dark humor, malice, and excitement and her ears pin back against her skull as she spins around to find a huge, dire male and two smaller ones slowly stalking toward her. Haydée stands tall, trying to appear bigger than she is as she raises her hackles and growls lowly back at them, “Stay away.”

The girl had missed their approach because the rain has muddled all the scents and the men had been smart enough to hide underneath it all. They chortle darkly at her, fanning out as they slowly move to flank her. Rain drives down in endless sheets as Hay slowly backs away, trying to keep them from getting behind her as the dire male sneers back at her, “Is that any way to greet three weary travelers? Come now, little girl. Where are your manners?” She can read their intent by the lust that fills their eyes and pure fear floods her veins. Hail smacks against the ground, drumming out a beat that her heart seems to match.  But she cannot give up, she has a whole pack to take care of!

Small paws continue to push her backward at a slow, controlled pace, slipping over tiny pebbles but she manages to stay standing. Again, she bites out, “Stay away. I have friends close by!” The threat is spat at them through the curtain of rain but the alpha of the group simply laughs and says, “Oh really? We have tracked you for a while and guess what? No one is traveling with you. So, I will ask again, where are your manners?” The two lackies are pushing her toward the cliffs, trying to cut off any escape route before they all descend upon her. Reading their plan, Haydée suddenly stops and stands tall in the face the biggest male head, bitting out, “Back. Off.” The words are harsh, filled with contempt as the male’s widens his eyes, feigning hurt while the other two make it around behind her.

Lifting a large paw to his chest, the man says, “Is that anyway to treat your superior… little one?” The last words are spat out with disgust, his temper finally beginning to bubble over. The rain has all members soaked and the girl is able to track the progress of the two behind by the sound of their paws slipping over the pellets of ice. Haydée knows that one of the two wolves behind her will be attacking soon and that, what is about to happen, is their fault for underestimating her and thinking that she would travel unprepared. The thick coat hides her armor and deadly weapon until it is too late.

A howl lifts into the cold air from the male at her back right, trying to unnerve the small girl and get her off her game. But she is ready, swinging toward the male on her left as he suddenly lunges in. Head snaps down as she turns, grabbing ahold of the Damascus steel bowie knife’s handle and sliding it free. Hail pelts them, making the ground slick while also obscuring her vision. She raises the knife, slashing upward and she feels the steel bite deeply. The man howls in outrage, stumbling backward as blood pours from where his left eye had been. Hate filled curses fill the air and he lifts a paw to gingerly touch the empty socket before growling out, “You, bitch! She took my eye!”

That seems to be the invitation other two needed to attack and Haydée swings around, slashing and stabbing at the pair as the pieces of hail grows bigger. The rain is now driving harder, making the ice hit with bruising force and it knocks the girl sideways when one strikes her head. But she cannot afford to let it to distract her, and she continues to swing as her paws slip and slide with every turn. She does her best to fend off the bigger men who seek to do her harm, hoping that someone is close and has heard the howls that had filled the air. Mostly, she hopes that someone will come to help her.

A large paw suddenly hooks underneath one of her front legs as one of her back paws lands on an piece of hail and the girl is sent tumbling off to the side. She holds onto her knife for dear life, knowing that, if she releases it, it will spell her death. The ground is slick from the rain and hail and she struggles to stand as the three brutes descend upon her.

Isa picked her way through the Polar sound. Her coat, a mixture or light and dark blues, was as unique as her spirit. Isa was known among her pack not only for her striking appearance but also for her fierce determination and unyielding compassion. And also her love of food, but that's neither here nor there.

On this particular day, the sky overhead was growing ever darker and the air smelled of rain. Odd, considering it was winter. Isa decided to make her way back to the Armada when she heard a distressed shout echoing through the trees. Her keen senses immediately locked onto the source – a young brown wolf, not yet an adult, trapped in a perilous situation. The youngster was surrounded by three menacing male wolves, their intentions far from noble.

Without a moment's hesitation, Isa sprang into action. Her powerful muscles propelled her forward as she charged towards the group, her fur bristling with determination. The moment she leaped into the fray, the heavens seemed to react to her valor. Dark clouds grew black, and the sky unleashed a furious hailstorm, pelting the already icy terrain with yet more ice.

Two females against three males in the middle of a hailstorm; it was a scene of fierce determination versus unwarranted aggression. Isa, with her stunning blue coat, fought like a whirlwind of nature itself. Her agility and speed were unmatched, and her eyes blazed with a righteous fury. The young brown wolf, shaken but holding her own, continued the battle, snapping and growling with all the courage she could muster.

The hailstorm raged on, but the ladies were undeterred. They fought fiercely, defending themselves from the sinister intentions of the brutes. Isa's wisdom and experience proved invaluable in the battle. She strategized, using the terrain to her advantage, and the young brown wolf learned quickly, matching her in tenacity.

As the hail continued to fall and the battle raged on, the bastards found themselves overwhelmed by the resilience and unity of the females. They soon realized that their nefarious plans were doomed to fail. Defeated and humbled, the three males retreated, tails between their legs. They left a trail of blood in their wake.

Isa and the young wolf stood victorious amidst the hailstorm, their fur matted and their bodies battered, but their spirits unbroken. They had faced adversity together, and their bond had grown unshakable. With a proud glance at each other, they watched as the retreating males disappeared into the distance.

The hailstorm began to subside, and the landscape returned to a semblance of calm. Isa and her young companion, now safe and victorious, shared a moment of silent understanding. It was only after Isa had caught her breath that she spoke to the girl, her tones accented, hinting of foreign lands. "Are you alright, young one?" Icy eyes inspected the girl but she didn't see any major damage. They were both wet, dirty and would most likely have bruises from the hail, but they would heal. Thankfully the pair of them had thick fur cloaks to help protect them against the elements. "The Armada is nearby if you'd like to come and rest. Or I can escort you wherever you were headed." With a soft snort, the fae shook her head. "Where on earth are my manners. I am Isa Fatalis. And you are?" It was still strange, saying her new name. It felt so very right, however.

The fight with the three male wolves turns with the appearance of an unknown blue woman. Haydée stands strong, striking out with deadly intent behind each swing toward the bad men. She does not know what they had planned for her but, by the large sneering smiles and venomous words, the girl can only assume it was not good. Finally, the tide turns and the men slink away, sporting new wounds and one less eye among the group. For a long moment, the small girl stands there, paws spread as she waits to see if they will surge back to try and hurt her one more time.

However, the group seems to have learned their lesson as they make no attempt to return and she releases a sigh while relaxing her muscles. Deftly, she slips the special knife that she wields back into its scabbard before turning toward the woman who has saved her. Relief and gratitude are written into her features as her tail slowly wags behind her. At the stranger’s question, she nods vigorously while saying, “Yeah! Just a few bites, nothing horrible. Thanks to you.” A bright, relieved smile fills her face as she bows her head in genuine gratitude. At the talk of resting at the Armada she lifts her head just as a flash of uncertainty shifts across her face.

Haydée had met Sirius and, while he had been kind, the small girl couldn’t help but feel like she didn’t measure up to his expectations for an alpha. Suddenly, the woman introduces herself and the girl shifts into her formal greeting mode that had been drilled into her. With a bow of respect, the girl says, “Pleasure to meet you Isa Fatalis. I am Haydée Kedieo, Leader of the pack Ethne, down in Auster.” Practiced words easily leave her lips but the smile that they pass through is heartfelt.

Head cants slightly as the girl puts two and two together and asks, “Fatalis… are you related to the Warlord, Sirius Fatalis?” Worry wars with the desire to the rest as she wrestles with the decision to go back to the scary big alpha or head on to Elysium.

The brutes fled and the ladies were left alone together. The girl introduced herself and Isa accepted the name and title with a smile and a nod. "Good to meet you, Haydee," the older fae replied kindly. She was quite young to be running a pack, but she had shown her skill while fighting off her attackers. Isa was sure that Ethne was in good hands.

Haydee posed a question and the cobalt woman tilted her head back, laughing jovially. "Oh yes," she chuckled, minty eyes sparkling happily. "The warlord is my husband." White teeth flashed in a grin. "I assume by the look on your face that you've met him." Isa chuckled again. She knew that Sirius could be a prickly thing at times. He'd prickled her more than once.

It is easy for a smile to appear on Haydée’s lips as she talks to Isa, the blue woman instantly putting the girl at easy with her gentle tone and kind eyes. The fact that she helped to soundly thrash those mean men also helps her feel safe with the woman. Tail slowly wags behind the young leader as she gazes up at the taller woman, dipping her head in an act of shyness as the woman speaks her name. Heat floods her checks, making the tiny wolf suddenly feel hot as she shyly kicks at a small chunk of hail that has yet to melt.

At her question about Isa being related to Sirius, the girl’s suspicion is confirmed and she groans inwardly at the realization. Haydée dips her head in acknowledgment to the fact that she has met the imposing Warlord and says, “Yeah and just between you and me, he is a little… scary.” A small, uncertain chuckle falls from her lips as she cocks her head to side and looks at Isa with genuine curiosity as she asks, “Is he always so… serious?” Hay wonders if someone like that can be serious all the time because, in her opinion, it seems like a lot of wasted energy.
