Fangs gift?

Kotori intended to make a point of keeping an eye on the pups to get a feel for their personality and drive.  The kids hadn’t been wanted but they were here now and part of Kotori’s pack.  Every wolf in this pack was Kotori’s responsibility and that included the youngest members.  He’d do his best to help teach them how to fit in and thrive.  

Kotori had come back from a fun patrol that had ended with a dead lioness.  Fang had shown up near the end of the battle and he’d given the little glowing mongoose two fangs from the lion to hold for the trip back to Valta.  Heading back towards his den to stash the prize he spotted the smallest of the pups and went to go see what she was up to.
 
She was not only smaller but chubbier than the other kids and he had nightmarish visions of her turning out like Ophelia.  She was still young so he’d temporarily ignore but if she stayed too round there would be a discussion with her, or her parents.  Still, maybe she’d grow out of it in a month or so.  Kids did grow at different rates after all.
“Hello little one, what are you doing?” Kotori asked as he approached.  

Now those fangs that his mongoose held were meant to be kept aside for future use in one way or another.  Fang the mongoose had his own ideas, the little rogue left Kotori and jogged over to the child offering it the fangs.  Kotori glared at the mongoose who chose that moment to dart off further into the grass.  Once it would have had an easier time hiding but, that glowing blue around his midsection made hiding a much more difficult task.  

Most pets were obedient things but Fang was an oddball who enjoyed riling Kotori at times for no other reason than entertainment.
