Tanelan

Today was definitely turning out to be beautiful. At first Henry had been up before dawn, tidying pretty much everything outside of the den. Happily they had covered the entrance in some twine making a makeshift screen between them and the outside world. Tanelan relaxed outside of the den watching as the sun began its crawl over the tree line in the distance. They didn’t know if Beau was up yet but it was getting around the time the wiggly little pups would be rising and getting ready for their first day outside. They entered the den and gently spoke in case anyone was still asleep. "Big big day you guys, you can finally start exploring outside. Just remember to stay away from the falls themselves for now until we teach you to swim or you could get hurt." Tanelan counted each one. Button, imogen, Nolan, blitz and Billy. No doubt Mika had insisted on Blitz name from the start. "Feel free to stick around us for now and we’ll do something fun, if you go out without us make sure one of the companions or Hansel is with you." he noted the canine relaxing on one side of the den. She definitely had improved since they brought her here. Now these pups were just as much hers as they were his and Beau’s.

So they made their way outside. Getting in a good stretch and a yawn as their paws dug into the soil. The spring birds were out singing landing on the various budding branches of the trees around them. No doubt there would be fun in store for today. They could feel the various alters eagerly waiting a turn inside their mind. Well for now Tan would keep their heading. It was HIS time to spend with their new pups and their soon to be husband.

She had been up, watching Henry at first. Then daddy Tan. As far as she knew having five dads and a mom was just….. normal. Among her wriggling siblings she wasn’t too excited about going outside after all there was lots of scary things just like daddy Tan had said. Not even a few more moments after she stepped outside she’d successfully tripped over her paws and front flipped into the dirt. Staring dumbfounded at the light now rising into their little area. She huffed and sat there before propping herself up.

"I wanna hunt a bug!" despite her fear she boisterously announced it as if it was the most amazing thing in the world. Would her siblings be impressed if she was the first to catch something after all. Behind her she could hear Hansel snickering quietly the dog keeping a watchful eye over the family. Such a good start too, Button could hardly contain her excitement.

The little one's were finally old enough to leave the den, and anxiety had kept Beauregard tossing and turning much of the night. He worried for them. They were vulnerable to so many things… but the knowledge they were within pack borders helped to reassure the man that things would be alright. Maybe he just wasn't ready for them to grow up yet. He had found so much joy in laying with them while they were tiny and watching them play around their home. He had so much love for them, as did Hansel, who was as much their mother as he and his mates were their parents. These children had a lot of love coming to them from different places.

He was awake by the time that Tanelan came back, and, in fact, had only just returned with what would be breakfast for their family. The okapi had been young, set outside for them to eat when they were ready. But it was time for them to see the world. As Beauregard stepped outside he spoke up as well. ”Stay away from the water. Right now it's even more cold than the air and ground, and you won't feel good at all if you fall in. We’ll teach you about swimming when it gets a lot warmer.” His stomach churned. Would they be good at swimming? He managed a smile at his kids, though he had to resist leaping forward when Button tripped. She was okay… they were all okay. He sat down, waiting to see who else would come from their home.

Imogen had been sleeping like a log, it came with being the bundle of energy she was and being so young. It took her own siblings jostling as they roused that got her to start coming to the world of the living. That said it only took spotting Button leaving the den for her to be up and moving. Imogen was out of the hut like a shot, going so fast she literally had to skid to a halt. She jumped around so she was looking back at the hut. "Guy guys!" She exclaimed loudly towards her siblings that had yet to leave the den. "C'mon! Outside!" She was practically vibrating with excitement and energy. She bounced over to her daddy Tan. "Is everyone gonna play today?" Imogen would be a little sad to find she'd missed Henry but she loved all of her parents and wanted to get to explore with all of them. After all they were outside. "Speech"

It was the big day. Wide, aqua eyes look up to their dad as he enters den, alerting them to the fact that they are being let outside today. Limits are set and an offer to stick close is given and then dad and several of his siblings are moving to the entrance. Button is the first one out and then daddy Beau is telling them not to go near the water and Nolan cannot help but wonder why the outside world has so many restrictions. Imogen is the next one to leave the hut and the silvery pup finally raises from where he had been resting.

Cautiously, he edges close to the opening, nose working as he readies to enter the outside. Brightness blinds the boy as he steps over the threshold and he stops to blink away the spots that suddenly appear in his vision. Imogen is bouncing around and Nolan shies away from her, since he is not quite ready to be so energetic yet. Aqua gaze does the exploring for him, roving over every strange and wonderful detail that lays out here. Curiosity, keeps him rooted in place, partially blocking the hut doorway for anyone that might be trying to get by him as he continues to cast his gaze around.
