Mika

Oh what a day! Mika was on babysitting duties, we’ll sort of. He’d promised he’d hang out with Billy when he got the chance. Then again he wanted to spend time with all of them at one point or another. He snorted at the thought, Mika was still adjusting to being a dad but it was a task he found himself priding in. After payday had gone off to collect herbs and Kaiju was helping Mika stare down at some spare wood and stone. For a moment Mika looked around. "Now where the fuck did the rope go?" he grumbled half to himself. Fashion a weapon maybe.

"Hey Billy what is it that you wanted to do today, maybe get us into a bit of trouble hmmm?" there was a sly grin to his face as he looked for the pup. Of course leave it to Mika to truly be the bad influence they all needed. Someone had to toughen the kids up. In the nicest way possible. He may be a foul mouthed beast, but he had tact. He could look after a pup just fine. Plus he had an idea in mind for a little game they could play.

Billy was occupying herself by chewing on a knucklebone from some kind of animal. Listen, she didn't know where it came from and she didn't really care. What she cared about was the knucklebone. It tasted good, and she could really get into it. Which she did by rolling over onto her side.

Already, the girl was bigger than her siblings-- she had a lot of growing to do.

But right now, all she focused on was the bone-- and then her dad, or one of them, who wanted to get into some trouble. Billy made a low noise and her tail wagged and she stood up, shaking her rear because of how much she was wagging her little puppy tail. "Yeah!" and she grinned. Toothy. "WHAT kinda trouble?" She.... hadn't really answered the question. But it's the thought that counts.

Mika

The pup was definitely a bigger one, something Mika had took note of and saw potential in teaching the young girl how to fight. However today he had something else in mind it wasn’t anything sincerely wrong but still no doubt he’d be getting a lecture from Beau later. She seemed excited at the thought as Mika lay down and looked back at his rope. Part of him wanted to show her how to make a spear but he hummed for a moment. "We’re gonna put a booby trap in front of the hut." he explained with a soft snicker.

"It’s gotta be something good so the family will be surprised." and then it did hit him. "We’re gonna go to the falls and fill a bucket with water. Then we just gotta rig the fucking thing up over the opening so when someone steps through they get Soaked." Mika stood up and moved over to the rope. Nearby grabbing a small wooden barrel that Kaiju had carved out earlier this week. He placed the rope over the handle and held it in his jaws.

Billy's big feet scrunch down at the grass under them and she cocks her head at one of her fathers. "Oh yeah!?" That sounded fun. That sounded like a good time. The dire girl's ears snapped forward and she wriggled her tail again, a big smile crossing her jaws. At this age, the little bone spurs on her neck were visible; just little points through puppy fur.

She was an odd one, huh?

But it didn't matter. Because she was here, with her dad, and Billy didn't think of herself as strange or different-- she was just Billy, and Mika wanted to play a prank on the rest of them, and he thought Billy would be good company for that. And she would be! That was for sure! Billy huffed in a sharp breath and stuck her tongue between her teeth. "Let's go! Let's go! Gonna be great!" Billy barked, and then she tried to jump at the barrel, to try to get her teeth into it so she could, maybe, help carry it or something.

... she was mostly just getting under Mika's paws.

Mika

Damn this kid really was getting underneath his paws. But Mika decided to turn it into a game. He swung the bucket purposefully higher so she couldn’t get to it. "Damn if I’m not careful this little gremlin is gonna steal my goods!" he dramatically pranced his feet around. All the way to the river. Mika set down the bucket and looked at Billy. "Grab the other end of the rope and we’ll get this shit done!" they could fill it without getting too close to the water. Mika didn’t want to have to fish this little one out of the water.

"Just hold the rope still and I’ll get the water in. Best to let me carry it though it’s gonna get a whole lot heavier with water in it. And I’ll show you how to set up the trap too with Kaiju’s help." the monkey was back at the hut. Normally Mika liked his own space away from the companions even if Payday fretted over him. "So what do you wanna be when you grow up Billy?" best to get to know her right? He worked so they could freely talk as they did.

Mika turned the heckling into a game, and Billy let out a series of yowlps as she jumped for the barrel that she was denied! No fair, dude! No far at all! But it was a fun game, and the purple dire wolf was soon grinning and really, really wiggling, her feet slapping down on the ground. When they made it to the river, Billy nodded and grabbed the other end of the rope in her teeth, and found that she actually very much liked the texture of the rope between her fangs, so she began to really chew at it for a moment, almost forgetting her task in the sensation of fibers against her tongue.

But then she was asked a question, which made her have to actually hold the rope instead of chew on it. "Uhhh! Hum. I dunno." Billy had never really considered it. She had just thought of herself as... being. There was a future, sure, but-- it was only now that the dire seemed to have even considered it at all. "I wanna ... I wanna have a big ole sword!" Bedtime stories taught her what a sword was, even though she'd never seen one. "And some cool armor."

Again, not really an answer, but Billy had answered as best she could.

Mika

Good it seemed putting her mind at work helped a bit. The water was easy to collect, but he did most of the heavy lifting as they eventually ended up with a filled bucket of water. Oh he was excited to set this sucker up, no matter who it happened to fall on. He giggled placing paws around it as he looked at Billy. "A big ole sword ey? You gotta train up your strength for that shit. How about sometime I help you make a badass dagger to start. Then when you’re a bit bigger we can get you a really fucking awesome sword. A dagger is just a small version of it after all." here he was offering a young pup to make a god damn weapon. Yet if you taught them properly surely it was better to learn earlier than it was later.

"As for the armor, well we should probably see Beau for that. Now I’ll show you how we gonna rig this fucker up. Watch Kaiju." Mika began to lead them back towards the hut. Though his ears open to what his daughter would have to say about building her a potential dagger to learn swordsmanship.
