Delphi
Dogs, eh? A bit of a difference between the normal predators that Kaino found up this way. It was both good and bad. Bears were big and slow, at least. Several dogs though? They would provide a much larger challenge. They were quick and could come at her from all directions. Some of the brutes were excited to see a female wolf in heat. Others just wanted something to sink their teeth into. Kai was adamant that she would not be a chewtoy today. The four dogs began to circle her and Kai carefully positioned herself with her back against the wall. At least they wouldn't be able to rush her from behind, but she was at a disadvantage. The first dog rushed her, a big scruffy coated thing, and she met it teeth first, biting into its muzzle. With a yelp of pain, the dog ripped away, running back behind the other three to regain its composure. She had no doubt that it would be back at her in just a moment. "Speech" |
After the encounter with the lion, one would think Delphi would high tail it home. Except she was a sucker for trouble. As luck would have it, while traveling back down the wall toward the southeast, somewhat toward home, she caught the scent of someone familiar. The woman who had saved her from said lion. Delphi perks as she spies the woman and... unfortunately a pack of dogs. Letting out a sigh, Delphi sets herself for the next few moments. Call it bad luck or poor decisions, Delphi charged in anyway.
Heading straight for the scruffy dog with blood falling from its muzzle, the little girl charged in. Leaping at the last moments, she sunk her saber fangs into the shoulder of the dog as it turned to latch onto her scruff. It lets out a yelp as her teeth dig in and before it can get another bite to her, Delphi lets go and falls to the ground. Now with one of the four dogs' attention on her, Delphi hopes this is helping the situation.
A blot of color came barreling from behind the bloodied dog and the amethyst fae's blue and mint eyes lit up. Since her mouth wasn't full of dog at the moment, Kai grinned. "We have to stop meeting like this, young lady." The attention of the dogs was divided and Kaino took full advantage. Rather than attack the dogs that had their attention trained on her, she attacked one that was watching the small wolf. Kai ducked beneath the chin of one of the taller dogs, latching her jaws firmly around its throat. The dog yelped and struggled, but it was no match for the bite strength of a wolf. With her head whipping back and forth, Kaino quickly dispatched the dog. A second, much smaller in size and closer to the size of the spotted girl, bit the purple wolf's hind leg. Releasing the dead dog, Kai spun, jaws snapping and saliva flying. "Speech" |
If Delphi's attention hadn't been on the dog that stalked toward her, she would've laughed at Kaino's comment. She was right. They really should stop meeting like this! But there's a dog in her face. Bloody, pissed off, and ready to rip her to shreds. Not Delphi's first time or the last, she was sure of it.
Hurrying to scurry up onto her paws, she faces the burly dog and a second one as one of its partners hones in to help. Why they needed two to take down one small girl possibly got to the girl's ego a little too much. Grinning back at them, she zooms forward. Rushing right at them, going for a surprise attack, Delphi dips down under the unharmed dog and jumps up to bite and tear at the tender skin of its belly. The replying leg kick that sweeps her forward into its front legs smarts, but doesn't completely deter her.
"You mangy son of a bitch," Kai snapped at the brute, noting the speckles of blood trailing down one silver hind leg. The dog had just turned to run, noting the fury in the wolf's eyes, when Kaino dove forward. Her teeth lodged in the dog's hind leg much like his had lodged in her own. The purple fae planted her paws, jerking her body backwards with such force that an audible pop sounded. The dog began to scream bloody murder and Kaino released it, grimacing against the high pitched noise. She allowed that dog to limp off into the brush. It wouldn't be doing shit with a knee like that.
Kai turned to make sure that Delphi was going alright and gave the smaller wolf a whoop of encouragement. With that done, Kai lowered her head and began to lope towards the final dog. It was about the same size as her, a leggy thing, too. Not at all made for this kind of fighting. As she neared, she could see the thing shaking in fear. A moment later, she smelled piss and there was a puddle creeping across the ground beneath the dog. Kaino wrinkled her nose and hopped towards the dog. That was all it took for the leggy hound to fly backwards and go tearing into the woods on this side of the wall. Kaino laughed aloud, her laughter echoing off of the stone wall. Ah, this had been a good fight.
Still entangled between some legs, Delphi twists until she can get a good angle. Biting down on the canine's leg, she puts pressure on it until the sound of snapping tendons has the dog screaming in pain. It quickly stops attempting to bite her back and instead is trying to run away with its friends. Delphi rolls up to protect herself from flying limbs for a moment until its all clear.
Standing up and giving her coat a good shake, she turns to watch the last dog literally pissing itself. She can't help but giggle at the show of fear. "You told them!" Delphi calls out, a bloodied smile creeping across her lips. "Well, I gotta get back home. Maybe our paths will cross again someday," her tail wags a few times before she takes off toward the southeast back toward Fenrir's Maw.
