As winter pressed in from the north, it seemed that more and more animals tried to make a home among the isle. Over the last week or so, the Raid King has had to chase out a variety of animals from snakes to deer to birds and now to something even bigger. Up toward the top floor of the isle's five-story building, a tiger lurked. He smelled it the moment it had traveled from the shore and into the building. Unfortunately, he couldn't chase this one out alone. No, he would need help from someone. Waiting for the morning sun to rise when the tiger would hopefully be heading to bed, Gil searched for someone to help him chase out or take down the intruding feline.

"speech"

It was so hard not to laugh as Siduri tailed her father through the isle. She crept. She tiptoed. She sneeeeeaked! Periodically the girl would stop and be forced to plaster her paw over her mouth to stifle the laughter bubbling up within her. She was trying to be stealthy but it was hard! After what seemed like ages, she just couldn't help it anymore. With a laughing, squealing whoop that only a pup can produce, she was on him. Siduri launched herself out of the tall gras where she was hiding. Little teeth bit into her dads hip as she tackled him. Though her mouth was full of fur, she yelled out, "Splice the mainbrace, ye scurrrrvy dog!" Off in the distance, a low growl sounded that seemed to reverberate through the girl. Relinquishing her bite, Sid stood beside her father and looked off towards where the sound had originated. "What was that, papa?"

Piratess

Gil knew the girl tailed him, but pretended not to notice. Why ruin her fun? Hoping that she would find something more interesting along the way, he continued to follow the scent of the tiger while also hoping someone older would come along to help. As he navigated closer to the tiger's "lair" - which was more of a dilapidated recess of the isle's building - he paused to glance backward at his daughter. It was at that moment she chose to launch at him, laughing the whole time until her teeth sunk into his fur and maybe a bit of skin.

He lets out a quiet chuckle before curling back to nuzzle the top of her head as she relinquishes her bite. His own ear turns to listen to the reverberating growl. A grumble vibrates his chest as he looks away from Sid toward the shadows of the building. "A very large predator that has been stealing our food," Gil's voice is low and gravelly as his ears begin to fold backward. "You must promise me to be careful if you follow me," he warns Sid, casting one stern and very concerned look back at the pale-colored girl before he sets forward to continue tracking down the beast.

At the growl, Siduri had taken a step closer to her father. Not because she was scared or anything, but because she needed to be close to protect him. Yeah! Yeah, that was the reason. White ears shifted as Gil told her that they were after a predator that had been stealing their food. Stealing? From them?! "Whatever this beastie may be, sire, I'll string it up and use its guts for ribbons. Just let me at it!"

When Sid met her father's stern gaze, she realized that he was attempting to be quiet. Ears tucked for a moment and she nodded at his warning. The girl stayed at her father's heel, senses on high alert for whatever they were going to encounter.

The girl's nose worked, testing the air to see if they were getting closer. The acrid stench of cat was thick and growing thicker, so she assumed they'd see the beast soon. She was right. From a dark, shadowy alcove up ahead, a puff of dust entered the light and another low growl sounded. Sid set her defenses, having practiced with her father before. The pallid fae's spine leveled out, her stance widened for the sake of balance and her coat bristled for extra puffy protection. She was ready for the cat and it was ready for them.

Piratess

Gil was proud of his daughter. Even in the face of danger, she was being brave. Of course he noticed the slight shift toward him, but he expected that from a pup her age. Large predators such as tigers were not animals to underestimate. And this one knew they were there. He could hear the growl that echoed and the slinking silent steps of the feline as it crept toward them in the shadows.

Setting his own defenses, Gil moved toward the side of the tiger's den. It would not be smart to attack the cat head on. Too many sharp claws and teeth that could possibly injure him. Keeping Sid keenly aware in his own senses, Gil readied himself. As they approached, he waited for that sweet moment. Just as the tiger's eyes gleamed from the darkness, the Raid King moved forward. Bursting with speed, his muscles stretched and contracted as his body lunged toward the side of the tiger's head and shoulder.

A large paw swipes up at him and catches him in the chest as he wraps his legs around the tiger's shoulder. Stifling a pained noise, he instead bites down on the tiger's scruff and continues to tussle with it.

Siduri took cues from her dad, watching his movements and mimicking them as best as she could. The girl's mismatched eyes settled on the glowing eyes in the darkness and then the action started.

The tiger rushed forth and Gil wasted no time in meeting its attack. While her father kept the front end occupied, Sid ran around the back end. The child's sharp little teeth sank into the heel of the big cat and she held on for dear life. That's what you were supposed to do, right? Bite and never let go? The tiger would die eventually and Sid would still be clinging to its dead body.

A particularly jerky movement sent the pastel child flying with a little "EEP!" of surprise. She tumbled into the foliage, blinking a few times as her world stopped spinning. Always one to try, try again, Siduri leaped from the bushes, landing on the tigers back this time. Little jaws clamped down on the tigers spine. She wasn't doing much damage, but she was surely being terribly annoying.

"Speech"

When Sid jumps from the shadows onto the tiger's back, it distracts the beast from Gil's next move. As the tiger turns to try and swipe at Sid, Gil leans back and dives in to the tiger's neck. Clamping down on the fur, skin, and tender sinew that makes up the tiger's exposed area, he can feel his mouth fill with blood. Listening to the horrified shriek that releases from the feline is satisfying. Holding firm to the tiger's shoulder, Gil doesn't give up. No matter how much the cat thrashes and tries to throw him off. He would wait and wait until the tiger finally gives up and goes limp in his hold.

Exhausted, in pain, and bleeding from various areas of his body, Gil dumps the tiger and steps back. "Not too bad, Princess Siduri," Gil says, the exhaustion apparent in his tone as he sinks onto his haunches. Honestly, he is getting quite woozy and the world begins to spin. Was it the tiger's blood or his blood spilling onto the ground? He couldn't quite tell anymore.
