jupiter illidais as dangerous as it was to come here, jupiter needed the solitude. of course she didn't venture very far into the volcanic territory--she merely encroached upon its borders enough to have a chance at being alone. ruling a pack was great and all, but being an alpha meant you had hardly any time to yourself. she sighed, pinning her ears as she padded carefully into the mountain's realm, hoping that it did not mind her trespassing today. eventually she came to a spot that wasn't too hot and was at great enough distance from any steam or possible lava vents to allow for as much safety as one could get in a land occupied by an active volcano. she had tried to get mercury to tag along, but of course the little fuzzball would have nothing to do with any of this. he had saved his ego and insisted that someone had to 'hold down the fort' while she was gone, and had remained in the ludicael territory, and was no doubt griping at someone now for getting too close to him or doing something perfectly alright that he thought was stupid. ? too litte words ? It was an eerie place to be exploring, after all a volcano had taken her last home, yet here she was traveling this one. She skirted around the border, refusing to go to far up and risk getting hurt. Anymore hurt than she already was. There was still a limp to her gait after her battle with Kaios, though the wounds along her nape were healing. She despited the monster that she was now forced to call her mate. What in the world caused him to think of such a thing. Its not like he was going to be a loyal mate, he was probably out screwing some other she-wolf right now. But the dame didn't care, she had no feelings for him, she was simply tied to him now.

Her inner venting had sent her right into the path of another wolf. She far from careless, always alert of her surroundings, but she was a bit ruffled now days. The she-wolf that stood before was massive compared to the tiny dame. Her pelt was made up of various oranges and intricate patterns. Her eyes stood out the most against her fiery pelt, being mixed with purples. And as with every wolf, scars littered her pelt.

Audits shot forward, steps pausing, assessing the wolf before her. The last thing she wanted right now was another fight. "Hello." she spoke cooling, lyrics drifting away from her. She remained standing for the moment, waiting to see how the fae would react to her presence. The scent that clung to her pelt was foreign. Perhaps she was one the had claimed victory over the land that so many had fought for? She would find out eventually, why not make friends with the newest Alpha, perhaps it could come in handy?

"mercury speech" the lass had remained still for so long, merely observing the terrain around her without moving her form that when her ear flicked it seemed like a terribly drastic and dramatic movement. her head followed the spasm of the aud, though a little lazily, as she found no need to whirl about when the voice seemed friendly enough. her eyes fell upon an obsidian lass, and the sol offered a smile to the onyx creature. "hello," she returned, a good-natured expression set into her features. "have you come to escape life for a little while, too?" she inquired with a chuckle, shaking off what little dust was on her fur out of habit. her nostrils flared slightly as she took in the female's scent, picking up on it past the acrid stench of sulfur that laid heavily upon the volcanic realm and finding no recognizable pack scent upon her pelt. her earth-rimmed ears pushed forward a little more, both listening for a reply and showing her attentiveness. she could possibly recruit this individual into her pack. of course this wouldn't be her only reason for speaking to the female, but it would give her something to mention if they ever encountered some sort of awkward silence. ? 206 words ? A good natured chuckle reached her ears, bring a one sided smirk to the dames dark face. "If only it were that easy." seating herself carefully, tail curled around frame, resting on her paws. It certainly was easy enough to just leave her pack behind for a few hours, but it was a little more difficult to leave all her worries at the border. Her puppies where growing fast, and keeping track of them was growing more and more difficult. And then there was Kaios. No words could describe that mess. She preferred to keep that problem tucked away in the back of her mind. As much as she could anyways.

"And you are?" inquiring about the fiery colored wolf, surely she came from somewhere, was someone, distracting herself from her wandering thoughts. She really needed to pull herself together, it seemed that nowadays she was growing more and more scatterbrained. She had duties to fulfill, mouths to feed. She needed to ground herself. For now though she set her attention on the mysterious wolf sitting before her, trying to ignore the acidic sulfur smell that assaulted her nostrils.

"yes, if only..." the sol murmured, amused by the words and the truth that smoldered beneath their reflective surface. an inquiry about her identity reached her auds and she turned her head to gaze upon the obsidian lass with celestial eyes once more. "jupiter," answered the lass simply, excluding her rank and affiliation. she had no reason to wave it around in the faces of others, even if she had fought tooth and claw to claim the pack as her own and, despite all odds, had come out on top. out of the four contenders for the throne, two of which she had battled, she had ended up triumphant. a natural glow of relative pride swept from the depths of her conscience, thundering in her heart. jupiter hid this confident feeling, though, and kept her outside demeanor cool, affable, and friendly. "and yourself?" she returned shortly after her own introduction, audits pushed forward to thirstily drink any syllables that would drop from the fae's lips. "and on a different note, i doubt that a fine lass such as yourself can have too many problems to escape from. if it doesn't bother you to confide in a stranger... what troubles you?" she asked innocently, shifting so that she could face the currently nameless individual with not just her head, but with her body, as well, showing that she was here to listen should it be required. ? 248 words ? Jupiter. Her name reached sensitive audits after a chuckle of agreement. "Secret." offering her own name to the dame. It was the only time she gave her name, if you didn't ask then you would never know. And she still knew nothing of this femme before her. "You're part of a pack?" she asked casually. In this new land, even with old packs reestablished there were several new packs that had begun to establish themselves, though she knew little about them.

A snort slipped from her with a brief shake of her head. She had a lot of trouble to deal with. And it all came wrapped up in a massive ebony wolf with rich purple eyes. "Just some troubles with my... mate." she paused for a briefest moment before letting the last word fall her maw with enough venom to kill. To think she had be claimed. It still got to her. All her life she had never intended for this to happen. To allow this to happen.

Even with the fire bubbling in her eyes, she kept a cool gaze on Jupiter. "What brings you here? Of all places." sapphire eyes shifted around, taking in the sight of the volcano they currently rested on.

"mercury speech" the lass tasted the name, an ironic smile working its way onto her face through her upturned lips. how fitting, she mused, that the mystery wolf that happens to be on a volcano at the same time as me happens to be named secret. she shook the dark dust from her fur with a coordinated spasm of her muscles, swiping her tongue over her chest once or twice before answering. "yes," she replied, tone affable and casual. "in fact, leader of ludicael, at your service," she threw in, dipping her head to the femme before her, a chuckle reverberating in her chest. her ears swiveled to an angle of backwards decline at the unexpected ferocity and venom that was thick in her next series of words, especially on the final syllable. the sol's weight shifted and she regarded the obsidian individual before her carefully. "and this mate of yours? what has he done to deserve such spite?" she said the echoed word with uncertainty and wariness. it was obvious that she was not penalizing the female for her words, but was instead throwing her negativity toward this aforementioned mate. the subject turned suddenly to a lighter form of conversation, but jupiter was not swayed. "as i mentioned before, escape. being an alpha is stressful after a while." she paused to foreshadows her return to the previous topic. "and maybe, for you, escape can be that easily." she allowed for her celestial violet eyes to linger on secret for a few moments longer before averting her gaze into the distance, mind churning mischievously and a crafty smirk spreading across her maw. "tell me, who is this mate of yours? and what... what troubles does he plague you with?" ? 287 words ? [ o o c ; ] jupiter's gonna be like "MM GURL DON'T TAKE NONE OF DAT"

Brows lifted in surprise, she had no expected an Alpha. Much less the alpha of one of newer unknown packs. How interesting. It was than that her instincts started to take over, perhaps learn a little bit more about this pack without alerting the Alpha. Tricky business with the Alpha sitting in front of her. It was hard to be a cunning bitch when it such good company. Another chuckle escaped the fae as Secret returned her more formal greeting, dipping her own skull.

It became apparent that the dame wasn't expecting her ferocity as her eyes pinned against her bright skull. Trying to reign in her emotions, the ebony wolf struggled to relax, releasing a deep breath. "What he has done is he has claimed me." she didn't go into details of their fight, the thought caused a subconscious twitch in her injured shoulder that quickly received a half hearted lick.

The subject switched once more, attention focusing on their needed escape from reality, the stresses of life. But it was a long topic, for something seemed to change in the dame as she furthered her questioning about Kaios being her mate. An audit twitched, noting the change.

"His infatuation has caused him to become rash and battle me for my freedom, and seeing as how I lost, I've now been titled his mate." ears pinned against her skull as she spoke, silencing voicing her displeasure. It was very unlike the ebony she-wolf to share so much information with a complete stranger, but she had kept her feelings pent up for so long, not even telling her children's father of what happened, that she felt as though she was about to explode. But she was careful not to give to much away, uncertain of what trouble Jupiter may cause. Not that she minded if Kaios got caught up in a little trouble. He certainly deserved it.

"mercury speech" as she listened to her explanation, a somewhat warped need for justice began to creep its way into jupiter's conscience. how odd it was for the wolf that had lived most of her life in a way of deception to feel a sense righteousness. her eyes momentarily flashed, the far-away look of memory slipping into them, but she quickly shook whatever thoughts had resurfaced away. her optics snapped back to secret, voice suddenly low, expression intent and careful. "and if i could free you?" she asked slowly, tongue forming the syllables with care and relative caution. it was an nearly-unexpected and almost suspicious request--the kind of generous offer that made one stop and wonder what the alpha would ask for in return. and yet greed was absent in every corner of her mind. something else drove the fiery fae, and it wasn't a reward. since her rise to power in the lands of ludicael, the lass had developed a craving for a battle. she wouldn't act on it selfishly, but even the thought of the thrill of once more fighting for a plausible purpose injected a dose of adrenaline into her blood. ? too lazy to enter into counter words ? Various emotions flitted across her face. Shock. Surprise. Bewilderment. Did she even hear her correctly? "Excuse me?" she questioned. The thought had never crossed her mind. She was in no condition to win her own freedom back, and there was no way in hell she would ever ask anyone to do it for her. It wouldn't be the same, having her freedom won for her. And besides that what did this Alpha want in return?

Her expression became wary, words chosen carefully. "Why would you do that?" such kindness was foreign to the dame. She had lived a hard life, always fighting to stay alive. And here was this wolf, an Alpha of another pack, a total stranger offering to risk her life for her own freedom. She was dumbfounded at the moment, and showed clearly on her face.

A picture began to form in her mind. Kaios and Jupiter. An ebony beast fighting the fiery fame, blood being spilled. She shook herself, shaking the images from her mind. Her tail began to twitch behind her, showing her growing agitation at the situation. "I can't allow that." she shook her head as she spoke, shifting a hard gaze back to Jupiter. She would win her own freedom. She couldn't allow another wolf to do that for her. It was her own battle.

"mercury speech" upon the exclamation of disbelief, jupiter did nothing but stand her ground and smirk wider, holding the confident 'you heard me' that threatened to leave her lips. she had expected the tsunami of caution that swept over the opposing femme, and suddenly it was as if they had gone from positive acquaintances to a pair of canines on the verge of a standoff. the celestial being kept her cool, using her wit to verbally advance upon the lass while never moving an inch. "because i've been where you are once," came her solemn answer, though her tone was still colored lightly with an odd glow of affability that notably conflicted with the hues it already held. "you're a spirited lass," she noted, having earlier taken in the fire in the girl's personality. "have you tried to fight for your own freedom?" she queried, aware that she was putting the gal on the spot but hoping that it would turn out favorably. her paws still itched for a good fight, and she was hopeful that whomever this male may be would be the one to offer it to her. "do you value your honor over your freedom?" she asked, eyes narrowing as she scrutinized the female, "your pride over your free will?" ? 211 words ? [ o o c ; ] excuse me for the wait, ma'am. <3

The smirk on the dames grew wider. She listened carefully, dissecting every word that fell from the Alphas lips. "I need to recover before I fight him again." she said bluntly, her words sharp. While it felt like eternity, not much time had passed since Kaios had claimed her. While her open wounds had nearly healed completely, her shoulder was holding her back. But the dames next words lit a fire within her. Ears pinned against her skull, pelt bristled, eyes narrowed. "Of course not. I have enough pride and honor that I won't allow for another to fight my battles for me." words lashed out like a whip, her anger escalating. By now she had risen to her paws, tail lashed behind her. Gaze scrutinized that dame before her. What could possibly cause this wolf to fight for her? She cared very little that the Alpha had once been unwilling claimed by another, it didn't matter to her. What matter was this wolf, Alpha or not, was trying to interfere in her life. Should she attack Kaios and win her freedom, the consquences would be great. Tortuga would never look at her the same. Sending another wolf from another pack to fight for her. No. Never. "Talk here."

she regarded secret with a curious eye. jupiter wished that she had been given this kind of offer when she had been in a similar situation, but then again, she knew that everyone was different. in fact, she might have done the same thing as secret. the one thing that hadn't been accounted for in this situation, though, was that jupiter was persistent, and, quite frankly, endlessly stubborn, if only in this moment. "and i can act old enough to be hard of hearing," she replied cheekily, and without further warning, she turned and made her way down the sulfurous mountain, flicking her tail idly in dismissal of anything that could be said.

	Jaws clenched with agitation as once again the dame failed to heed her wishes. But before anymore could be said the Alphess turned and left, weaving her way back down the mountain. The ebony wolf sat quietly for a moment before rising to her owns and making her own path back home. She wasn't sure what would become of this meeting, what the consequences would be, she guessed she would find out soon enough. -Exit I assume?-
