Attacking a bear was a bad idea. Tarnish had no intention on really starting a fight with the bear, he only meant to steal a little bit of the deer it had killed. He'd seen coyotes and ravens manage such a feat and the bear might chase a little then go back to its meal. Surely he'd have the same results right?
Tarnish slunk along the through the brush, closer to where the bear was feasting. His black coat once again aided him in blending into the shadowy under brush. As the bear's head dipped down into the deer's abdomen Tarnish darted forward, fangs digging deep into a bit of exposed thigh. As he ripped the meat part way off the bear suddenly lunged. Tarnish dropped his head sharply as the bear just narrowly missed slashing his face with its claws. He was forced to drop the meat and dart away, hoping the bear would go back to its kill… but it didn't. It gave chase. "AW SHIT!"

Calliope was out trying to find trouble as she typically did. Traipsing through the dense jungle without a care in the world. A bird is grasped tightly in her jaw, proud of her successful catch as she ignores the feathers sticking into her gums. Tail flagged happily over her back as she made her way from the outskirts back to the main building.
The hum in her throat is suddenly stop when a familiar screech is causing birds and squirrels to scatter. Stopping in her tracks, Calliopes watches with a knitted brow as her brother runs by with a bear giving chase behind him. What the fuck Tar, Cal thinks to herself before letting out an annoyed sigh. Dropping her bird into the brush, she takes off at top speed for the ursine. Utilizing her tall height to jump wide roots and catch up quickly, Calliope dives in and grabs ahold of the bear's rear ankle as it pushes off to try and lunge at Tarnish. Holding on tightly, she digs in and tries to get the bear to stop chasing her brother.

Tarnish swore as he leapt up into a nearby tree, scrambling up like his life depended on it because it really fucking did. His hope was with it being a slimmer tree that the bear wouldn't give chase. Thankfully, he didn't need to find out for at that moment Calliope was on the scene and digging into the bear's hind leg. He let out a whoop and cheer for his sister before coiling his hind legs beneath him and preparing his own retaliation. As the bear turned to get after the girl Tarnish leapt down from the tree. Colliding into the bear's back, his claws digging in deep, teeth latched around one of the bear's ears. It roared and tried to reach him. He thought he had himself in a good position but he failed to calculate his own growth. Fuck those claws were getting close! He was forced to release the bear's ear and hunker down between its shoulder blades where it still struggled to reach him.

Tarnish's whooping call of excitement only enticed Calliope more. With or without the help of her brother, she would take down the bear! The bear twisted around to try and snag her. Hardly able to watch the long claws come swiping toward her with how much she was shaking her head back and forth, attempting to sever the tendon. Just as those claws were about to break her skin, the bear faltered. Paw slamming onto the ground and attention shifting to Tarnish. And instead, it picked up its leg to try and kick her.
She lets the bear kick her and shove her backward, successfully severing the tendon, leaving the sinew in her jaw. Sufficiently bruised and laying on the ground, she watches as the bear tries to pull Tarnish off of it. Spitting out the tendon, she lets out a growl. "Oh no you don't!" Cal calls out as she dives back in toward the bear. Going for the other rear leg, she clamps down hard and attempts to tear the other tendon, rendering the bear unable to use its hind legs.

Tarnish Felt the bear tip forward, the loss of function in one of its hind legs forcing it to place both front ones on the ground to stabilize. As such it couldn't reach for him any more and Tarnish was free to make a particularly violent assault. He wasn't sure what ignited it, but a fire kindled in his belly, a sudden desire to do real damage, to push what he'd done before. His hind claws dug into the bears back and he launched himself forward. Obsidian claws sank deep into the bear's face, piercing its eyes. There was a sickening squish, the feeling of something gross between his toes that he barely had time to register before a mighty shake from the bear sent him flying off. It roared in pain, stumbling back, swiping at its eyes.
Panting, Tarnish righted himself, ignoring the pain in his back from the hard landing. Sweet shit, he'd just punctured its eyes! He stared in awe at the blood running down its face.

Quickly, another tendon severed. Exhaustion running through her veins as she hoped Tarnish would do something. Her adrenaline is soaring, her belly doing flip flops, her tongue lapping up the blood as it gushes into her mouth. Once her teeth can puncture and tear the tendon, she rips away her head. Just in time to scoot out of the way as the bear roars furiously and begins to stumble backward. With no use of its rear legs and now fulling blinded, there is no hope for the bear.
Cal looks to Tarnish, her ivory coat covered from ears to toes in blood, a wide and almost crazed smile on her face. "Ya ain't that bad at killin'," she retorts as she wanders over to her brother to see if he has any substantial injuries. Noting that the blood that mars his obsidian pelt is all bear, she turns to watch the beast collapse. Her own pants and swollen tongue heaving in time to match the dying bear. "Think we yank the teeth outta this one?" Cal asks as a giggle bubbles up and she lifts a paw to try and hide her near delirious behavior.
