Marrow
Marrow trotted down the canyon floor along the river that ran through it. She'd been dodging packs all morning, just looking for a good place to rest when she found the most incredible thing. A dead black bear! It had been decaying for awhile, picked at here and there by buzzards but she just couldn't pass up taking the head. It had taking Marrow some time to sever the spine and pull the head from the body, now with it clasped in her jaws she practically pranced with her tail waving like a banner. Every so often a clump of maggots would fall from the eye sockets but she didn't worry about that. She'd get it cleaned up.
Pleased as punch and excited for the task ahead she failed to notice that she was being stocked from above. A tiger, drawn by the scent of blood was following along on the ledge above, its tail twitching as it waited for the perfect moment… to pounce!

Something about yearlings. Just on the cusp of adulthood but not nearly as mature or put together as they clearly thought they were. It wasn't as if he hadn't been a young and dumb kid some time ago, but he liked to think he wasn't quite this unaware, you know? Or maybe he had been, before reality sucker punched him in the jaw. Before the tiger could spring its trap, Ronan rushed into action. Slipping down from his makeshift hide he'd put together on one of the shelves of the canyon wall, he didn't move nearly as gracefully as the tiger did, but it had been so focused on the yearling below it didn't notice his clumsy descent till they both collided. Falling a fair distance before careening into the canyon floor, just barely falling short of squishing the unsuspecting white one. A thudding impact announced Ronan's entrance, jaguar claws unsheathed as he flared out his wings, using them to block off the tigers attempts to rip open his throat. As tigers tended to do. Gritting his teeth, his legs straining as he struggled to pin the cat down he spat hissed words at the yearling. "You gonna-drop that and help?" |

Marrow
What Marrow failed to realize was that the black bear carcass she'd pilfered had actually been the tiger's prey. Such a beast had no problem seeing her as prey. Marrow skittered to the side of the canyon when she heard the tussle above her only to see a strange looking man and a tiger collide into the canyon floor. Oh shit! She stared, eyes wide, until the man got to his feet and yelled at her to drop the head and help. Well, ok, fine, but she still wanted it.
Marrow dropped the bear head and charged for the tiger's hind end, fangs digging into the middle of its tail and biting down hard. The tiger roared and twisted around trying to get at her. The force of its movement and her own fancy footwork kept her behind the tiger as it tried desperately to reach and free the sensitive appendage from her jaws.

Not quite catch a tiger by its toe, but the saying was stupid anyway, so Ronan wasn't complaining. Quickly distracted by its tail being crunched on, the cat reeled around, leaving a wide opening for Ronan to pounce himself. Lunging to grab a hold of it via the back of its neck, he foisted all of his weight upon it's back- and with all his muscle and heft he was a heavy guy, Pointy elbows and even pointier wings. The goal was to try and force it down, that way the both of them would hopefully be able to avoid its teeth and claws. Hopefully, he wasn't convinced they'd both get out of this unscathed, it being a spitting furious tigre and all. |

Marrow
Marrow's jaws strained with the force of trying to hang onto the tail, then suddenly the tiger was down as the larger wolf leapt onto the tiger's back and pinned it down, well at least temporarily. The massive cat spit and flailed. It's hind leg slamming into Marrow's chest as she tried to release her grip. A solid oof escaped her lips, flinching as the claws pierced her chest. Undaunted she dove down, biting the tiger on the ass. It yowled, pulling its hind legs underneath it then surging forward to try and flee. It was clear at this point the tiger had had enough and was ready to get away from the wolves.

Ronan could be awfully persuasive when he wanted to be, it seemed. And he could hardly blame the cat for it, when a fight was a lost cause the wise thing to do was to back off and call it quits. Any decent hunter with half a brain knew they could always try again, that there was always more prey out there- and today at least the pale, frankly bad smelling yearling was off of the menu. Letting up his weight just a little, so the cat could slip free, he snapped at the scruff of its neck, just for good measure. |
