I Steal a Few Breaths From the World, For a Minute
For Scald <3

Elysia was growing bored of the Serpent Plains her Band now called home, it felt too open, too exposed to her. And she wasn’t fond of it. She missed the trees of the Polar sound, though she was greatly enjoying the warmth of the summer sun. Even if it was accompanied still by her heat. Though she’d grown accustomed to the uncomfortable feeling it brought within her.
She decided to venture out of Sephrian’s domain, against her brothers wishes. To explore some of the nearby areas. She understood that Ze wanted her to wait till she was no longer… Tempting to the men. But she couldn’t care less at the moment. She was feeling… cooped up, in far to open of a space. And she needed out.
So out she had gotten, traveling southwest, she found herself surrounded by Large trees. The waterways made it slightly annoying to travel through. But she’d lived through worse. With a sigh she decided to make camp for the night, as the sun had begun to set already. Finding a nice spot at the base of one of the trees whose roots twisted into a nice little makeshift space she laid her claim for the night.
It was a perfect space, with the tiny shelter and the water in spitting distance, she began to wind down for the night, lapping gently at the water before she nestled herself into her bed for the night. She wasn’t prepared for the sight before her.
Blinking as if she were dreaming she watched as life sparked around her, in a way she’d never seen before. In awe she watched as the sky grew darker and yet the forest around her came to light - Literally. Everything was glowing and it was breathtaking. ”Well holy shit” she exclaimed.

Light aglow, spreading through the trees, bringing a warm ambiance to the surrounding area. A phenomenon Scald had witnessed before, but never actually put any thought into it. Never stopped to admire it before. Had no reason to. Being alone on most of his adventures, he tended to make his way through territories without much thought. Especially now that he had a good idea of Boreas, he was rather more a man on a mission than one lingering from place to place. Headed toward the Hot Springs, a familiar enticing scent forces him to stop in his tracks. Surrounded by the glow, he looks around. Though it's hard to see into the nooks and crannies of the mangroves, he does notice a set of eyes peering out from a small covered area. A brow raises, his brain trying to tamper the emotions and hormones that roll through his body as he approaches. Lowering his head, Scald keeps his distance as he peeks inside. "Ely?" he asks, surprised to see her after all this time. |

Elysia was captivated by the beauty of the glowing plants all around her that she hadn’t heard him coming. But his scent hit her nose just in time for his voice to cut through the night’s silence. Her eyes flickered from the natural light to his gaze. She knew that scent even before his voice and now her own eyes confirmed it. “Scald” she called back to him.
She hadn’t expected to run into him here. In fact it had been some time since she’d seen the pretty boy she’d met on the island. Much had changed since she’d last encountered him. Her body now held scars. She was not just a beauty anymore, no she was a beauty with battle scars. A story.
Pulling herself from her spot, she stretched out her limbs before sitting across from the familiar face. “It’s good to see you again handsome” she purred, as she looked him up and down. He was still as handsome as she remembered him to be. Oh Ezekiel really wasn’t going to be happy about her trip now.

Scald had done some maturing of his own. Growing into those lanky limbs and filling out even if he was still on the slender side. Tall, dark, and handsome would always be words Scald associated with himself. But unlike Ely, he had managed to go unscathed. Leave the fighting to his puppy years and the raids to the others who were more eager for bloodshed. He notices them as she emerges from her hiding spot, her purring tones sending a shiver down his spine. The way she says his name is more than enough. Following her gesture, he sits upon the soft grass and meets her warm gaze. Fireflies flicker around them, inviting them to a romantic and serene night away from the drama and intricacies of packs and family. And though he hears her words, his nose and brain are distracted. Eyes moving shamelessly over her figure, admiring her scars, noting the way her feminine scent rolls off of her. "I was beginning to wonder if I'd ever see your beautiful self again," he finally murmurs, his eyes coming back up to look at her brilliant purple gaze once more. |

Elysia knew his eyes were roaming over her frame. It had been some time since they’d last seen each other and now she was fully grown, though not much had truly changed about her besides her scars and possibly growing into her feminine features more than when she was a yearling. When his eyes met hers again she gave him a smile. ”Did you miss me?” she teased playfully at his words. Though she too had begun to wonder if she’d ever see him again.
She shook her head slightly. ”Ive been traveling with my family. We have been looking for a place to settle down. So should you ever need to find me, sniff around for The Syndicate Band. You’ll find me there” she offered an open invitation now. That should he ever seek her time and company, he could always come to find her.
”But tell me, what have you been up to all this time? Because you look good” she questioned genuinely though she put a special emphasis on ‘look good’ hinting that she still very much found him as attractive as the day they met.

He can't help but smile, a quiet chuckle in his throat as his eyes crinkle at the corners. "What do you think?" Scald asks, brow raising slightly as he teases her back. The boy couldn't deny that he had indeed missed her, dreamt about her more than once even. She definitely had a hold on him that he wasn't sure he'd ever be able to shake. When the topic changes, he tilts his head slightly. The Syndicate? Putting the information away as a mental note, he smiles. "So is that who I smell on your fur?" Scald murmurs, another raise of his brow as he leans his nose toward her shoulder to inhale deeply before making a crinkled expression. "I think you'd smell better with my scent on you," he flirts openly, reaching out to press his nose to her neck and trailing it upward briefly until he can quickly lick her cheek before pulling away. "Traveling mostly. Figuring out where I stand with my pack, stepping into my role," the smile on his lips is a tad proud, but nothing too egotistical, he's not lying after all. "But most of all? Staying in good shape for when I saw you next," his eyes linger on hers, scooting in slightly closer to her, more than encroaching her personal space. Would she be willing to make the next move? |

The lightheartedness that scald brought to her life whenever he was around was strange. Life with her family was always tense and showboating. Sure they had each other’s backs but they’d be the first to stab you in it to get a leg up. But with scald, she felt at ease. Like when she’s alone with Ze, almost. It made her feel gentle. Watching the fireflies dancing around him she let out a little hum. As if she were thinking about her answer. ”i dunno. You didn’t come find me” she teased.
She laughed at his question of her scent. She knew that her cousins, brother and co’s scent all danced across her fur now. It was something she was proud of. And from anyone else she might have gotten defensive of the question. But She didn’t tense up or shove him away as his nose found its way to her shoulder. Rolling her eyes playfully, she returned the favor. Leaning in to his shoulder now to drink in his scent and that of his pack. ”I mean, same for you. You’d definitely smell better with my scent draped around you… wanna trade?” she said her voice slipping into a huskier tone as she stared at him with lust.
She wanted nothing more than to close the gap between them. So when he leaned into her space she readily pressed herself against him. ”if staying in shape for me i/ on your mind. Come see me more often, I can help with that endeavor” she cooed as she returned his earlier action, licking his cheek now.
