When the Warlord was unable to see Venom, his next choice was to hear what was going on second hand. It wouldn’t perhaps have been his first choice to hear it from Chimera, but when it came to those he loved he could put aside his differences. People changed as they grew, and if he saw any sign of the vindictive wolf who had attacked his wolf in the dark, then he knew things would fall apart quickly. But for the sake of Venom, and for the entire Ashen Empire which meant so much to him, he was willing to try.

So he raised his head and he called for the duel-toned man, seating himself on the Ashen territory, and prepared himself for whatever might come of this.


"Sirius Fatalis"

Well, now wasn't that a surprise? The howl that ran out, calling for the alpha of Ashen, was none other than Sirius. It was no secret that the Armada wolves didn't like him, but that sort of thing had never mattered to Chimera. It was funny though. He had no idea what he'd done to deserve their ire, but if they had enough energy to spend on disliking him, so be it.

The Ashen King finished the lesson that he'd been giving his daughter, sending one of the mastiffs ahead to inform the visitor that he was on his way. After instructing Selkie to head back and find her mother, Chimera set out to the border and the interesting meeting that was about to take place.

Sirius looked much the same except older and with more salt and pepper in his fur. He still had that expression on his face and Chi wondered if the frown lines were permanent. "Sirius," the black and white giant rumbled. "To what do I owe the pleasure?" It most likely wouldn't be a pleasure, but one could hope.

"Chimera Klein"

The Warlord dipped his head to Chimera as the duel wolf appeared. Giving him the respect due his rank - even if Sirius himself wasn’t entirely sure he had earned it. He was on his best behaviour, at least until he could figure out the situation. “Chimera, it’s been a long time.” He said carefully, before bringing them to the heart of the matter.

“I came to see Venom and check on her wellbeing, but I’ve been unable to see her” He explained. “I was hoping you could tell me what’s happening with her?” Venom was like a daughter to her, and despite his best efforts a hint of that worry bleed through into his words.


"Sirius Fatalis"

Had Chimera been a few years younger, perhaps he would have made Sirius wait on the other side of the border just to be a dickhead. Alas, the man had matured. He wasn’t nearly as petty as he had been as a child. There were more important things now. His family being the main thing. Lifting a paw, Chimera motioned Sirius over the border and into Ashen lands.

The concern in Sirius’ tones was evident and the black and white brute appreciated it. He had been concerned for Venom as well. Kleins were hard to break, however, and he had the utmost confidence that his sister would regain her health. Ah, but how much to divulge?

“My sister has fallen ill. She will recover and it’s nothing to worry overly about, but she felt unfit for the role with the position that she was in.” Cryptic, but it was as close to the truth as he could get without saying outright that Venom thought she was losing her mind.

To keep the conversation pleasant, the Ashen King asked in turn. “And how is the Armada faring? I heard that there had been a flood some time back.” Chi was more interested in his own affairs, but Ashen had always supported the Armada, so he would make an effort.
