Round Two. BRUTALITY!

First it was bears. Now it was cats. What was next, a pack of dogs? Sid had been munching on a young antelope when the lion came to start trouble. This big as thing couldn't catch its own meal and wanted to steal from a little girl? Siduri bared her teeth, maw bloody from lunch. "Reprehensible reprobate!" The colorful child snarled as she stood and moved to stand between the lion and her kill. The tawny beast move forward, unperturbed by the small, insignificant canine that was bristled and growling. This would be easy. Or would it? As the lion loped towards her, it's sandy mane bouncing with each step, Sid began moving towards it as well. It didn't expect a frontal attack, but Siduri grabbed a paw full of sand and threw it in the feline's eyes. The lion flinched, clearly startled. Sid took that opportunity to deliver a nasty bite to the lion's nose. |

Alaric had entered the southern lands, it taking him weeks to leave the East and ended the South. When he arrived, there was a bunch of new terrains for him to explore. This one in particular was a grassy plain, open and free. He could see a fair distance in front of him, only for his orange gaze to meet the sight of a lion and much smaller wolf who was guarding a kill. The lion seemed intent on taking it from them.
Alaric decided to watched from afar as the little wolf threw sand at the lion's eyes. That's it, they're gonna get themselves killed. At least, that's what he thought. Against his better judgement, he decided to help. His paws quickly closed the distance between himself and the two. His black maws splayed open and sought out the Achilles heel of the lion as it was distracted. He sought to tear open and severed the tendon entirely, immobilizing the lion.

Sid figured that she was probably the luckiest girl in the world. Every time something like this happened, and it happened often because her middle name was Trouble, someone came to her aid. Just like now. A larger wolf crept up behind the lion and bit into its heel. The cat screeched in surprise and spun to eye its new attacker. Stupid cat.
Siduri took the opportunity to run around the side, eyeing the feline's ribs as they pressed against its tawny coat. That's where she chose to bite, lodging her teeth on either side of one prominent rib. Teeth popped through flesh and blood filled her mouth. It wouldn't do lasting damage to the cat, but it would make him think twice about screwing with Siduri The Terror ever again.

Alaric's maws filled with blood as he felt the flesh and skin break from his pressure. He yanked harshly at the leg, twisting his skull as he worked to permanently damage it. The lion whipped around to face him, his ears flattened against his skull to protect them from damage. Somehow, he had managed to survive a powerful swipe that grazed over his low positioned head.
When Alaric was done permanently severed the Achilles heel, he could hear a painful bellow from the beast as it staggered from the sudden weight change and injury. Alaric let go, now launching himself at the lion's lower jaw while it was distracted. He would try to grasp it from beneath and break it, removing a very dangerous source of power from the beast. A bold move, but he felt urges to immobilize this thing as much as he could. He glanced at the add wolf, who had chosen to go for the ribs. Not a bad attack but definitely it would not help in killing the thing.

Alaric's fangs clamped down on nothing as the lion seemed to be retreating. He glanced at the smaller wolf, who seemed to be backing off as well. Did she not want it dead? He raised a brow curiously. How odd. A sigh left his black maws. Fine, let the thing go. If wouldn't last long with a injury like that anyways. If it wanted to suffer and desperately cling to life before death, who was he to deny it's choice? Alaric would've preferred death in battle but alas he flicked an ear. He turned his gaze to the she wolf and dipped his head in respect.
"You have quite the bravery." He meant it, too. It was something that seemed to earn his respect. "Are you injured?" He didn't see any wounds. He wasn't injured. He thought it best to keep a respectful distance between them and let her decide where this goes next.

Alaric's black maw twisted into a small smile. "Alaric." He returned the gesture of trading names. When she confirmed she wasn't injured, he nodded. To her next statement, he simply shrugged. "The big always take advantage of the small. The strong always beat the weak. This is...our unfortunate truth." He rumbled plainly. He was blunt and apathetic to this truth. As he had lived it. He was once weak. He was once small. Now, he was strong and big. He wouldn't let the world be cruel on his watch to himself. Potentially others too, should he feel the urge arise. He turned to leave, turning in his path to look at her. "It was nice meeting you. Til next time, Siduri." He didn't want to drag this on. He didn't feel the need to. The lion was gone and he had no attachment to her to stay. He did his good deed for the day. He wanted a nap.
