Chimera had received word that his niece Ikigai had given birth. It was an important event, considering the woman's standing and the fact that she had offered herself up for an alliance between the packs. Since Venom wasn't well enough to make the trip, Chimera decided to do it himself. He left Aliana and Dalila in charge while he was away.

The journey was a long one, but Chi took his time, moving along at a leisurely pace. There was a relatively large sack of gifts slung over one well muscled shoulder. It would be unseemly for a king to arrive without gifts. He didn't bring his dogs either, choosing to leave them behind to help guard the pack. He was just a traveling man, out in the wilds on his own.

Big paws took the brute down the land bridge that connected the mainland to the island. Chimera admired this location quite a bit, being an island wolf himself. It was a very smart place to call home. Midway down the bridge, the black and white behemoth released a long, low call. He would meet with the ruler of this place first, then give Ikigai and the pups their gifts.

Even though they were tucked away in their own corner of Boreas where they were able to keep themselves fairly secluded from the rest of the continent, Avacyn always had her ravens scattered out around the continent, keeping an eye on things and bringing her bits of news and events. They let her know about the rash of raids that had broken out here and there with various packs, marking a sharp uptick in the fighting seemingly out of nowhere. While she didn't know if they had been preplanned raids for practice or not, she still wanted to be more cautious than usual–especially with Ikigai's new children running rampant around the island. They didn't have pups in the pack very often so she considered them very precious cargo.

Her caution kept her on the island more often than not these days and that was exactly where she was when she heard the howl coming from the direction of the land bridge. Her ears perked at the voice that felt like it should be familiar, but she couldn't quite place why she should know it. Turning away from the project she had been picking away at near the lake, Avacyn started to make her way toward the call, quickly arriving and spotting the brute that she had once known as the King of Fenmyre. Her brows lifted with surprise as as she approached him, but she still gave him a polite dip of her head in greeting all the same. "Chimera, it's good to see you again. It's been a long time," she said with a small smile, glancing at the large bag of things that he was carrying. "What brings you all the way up to our corner of the world?"

"Avacyn Medacium"

It didn't take long for Avacyn to come meet Chimera. Just as he was reaching the island, in fact. She seemed a little surprised to see him, as she should. It was no secret that the black and white giant wasn't exactly social. He didn't make house calls. Here he was, however. The purple fae greeted him and Chimera offered a nod in return. "Avacyn," he rumbled kindly. When she asked why he'd come so far, the brute gave a soft smile. "I hear that my niece has given birth. I've come with gifts for Ikigai and the pups. For you as well." If she would but invite him further into Elysium territory, Chimera would deliver those gifts.

Once Chimera explained what he was here to deliver gifts-both to Ikigai's children and to her-she nodded with understanding and gave him a grateful smile. "That's very kind of you. Please, come in." She gestured for him to follow her as she turned and started walking back toward the center of the island while tipping her head back to let out a low howl for Ikigai, Deimos, and their children to gather by the lake. The little pups were already proving to be a handful and she had spotted them in all sorts of places around the island as they began to explore their world. This was the first time she had really experienced pups outside of her younger siblings and she had not been involved enough in their raising to really know how much work pups could really be. Although she would find out herself soon enough, she supposed, once the pups Scylla was carrying were born.

Pushing the thoughts of her own personal life aside, she turned her attention back to the larger male at her side. "How is Venom?" she asked curiously, concern creasing her brow. She knew that Chimera had stepped in for the former Empress, but the details about everything involved with that were not entirely clear. She knew Venom wasn't well and she did worry about her friend. She was just glad that Chimera had been able to keep Ashen afloat. It would have been devastating to see a pack that had been a pillar for so many crumble away. "I've wanted to come check on her, but I wasn't sure if she would want to have visitors," she admitted. Not that she felt comfortable leaving Elysium alone for the time being, but it was a thought that had crossed her mind many times since she found out about the change in Ashen's leadership.
