There's the anxiety that's crept in, that lives in her bones. The nightmares that plague her sleep. Feeling. Jael feels too much, and it leads to something like combustion. There are appropriate places to look for a fight. Even if she's in a goddamn bitch of an unsatisfactory mood, she's not a monster. Turning up on the battlefield looking for a fight is part for the course out here, no? That's the whole intent. Jael makes her way to one of the pits and takes a few steps back. She was only two seasons old, but the urgency to prove herself a worthy fighter was there. Implanted from the beginning by the bedtime stories told by her father. Of course, it's not intentional. No one wanted to see the sweet girl injured, but she could be just as good as her brothers or even better. Being able to rub their faces in the dirt made her secretly smile when the day was done. But on the outside? Lumine was grace, regal, smooth and everything a princess should be. Walking with her head high, a veil of confidence hiding the nervousness that gnaws at her belly. Crossing from the east into the Battlefield, she pauses to look around. Well, she supposed this place was as good as any to fight. Rather barren, not much to use, but an even playing field she presumed. Her father's bear dogs keep close on her heels, giving the girl some sort of freedom, but ready to dive in if she needed the help. Her interest is piqued when a feminine call sounds it. The tones have a distressed and fraying edge to it. Concern crosses her expression for a moment as she heads in the direction of the sound. Upon her approach, she spies a small dog that is an inch or so shorter than she is already. Was this other girl full grown? Lumine's brow furrows, but she won't turn down the opportunity for some practice. "Greetings, I am Lumine Trygg. I wish to spar," her words are straight forward, a smooth sound that is practiced and even. Before the girl can say anything other than her name, Lumine charges forward. Lowering her head, folding her ears back, she makes sure to bunch up her scruff as she closes the distance between herself and the dog. When she nears, Lumine sidesteps toward the right while still moving forward. As she moves past the head of her opponent, she leans back to the left and aims to shove her shoulder into the other girl's shoulder. Lumine Trygg

Even if she had been looking for a brawl, she's not about to be a dick to some kid who doesn't deserve it. A nod, offering her name in return. "Very well. I'm Jael." Ah, and the girl was already in motion. A graceful thing, gangly pup already taller than the little dog. Lumine goes high, and she goes low. Jael's jaws are intent on the girl's ankles, teeth shining in the afternoon sun. Shoulder thrown into her own, though she hunkers down, lowering her center of gravity and trying to absorb the blow. Taken with an oof, but the little dog keeps going. Tucking low, gaze keen. Trying to get at least a bit of distance, lest she get caught beneath Lumine in the fray. Jael, The Pet

Unlike some, Lumine isn't deterred by the countering of Jael. She expected the dog to go low, it was what they were meant to do. Right? Not that she had much experience fighting dogs, but smaller opponents weren't usually stupid enough to try and jump at their larger targets. With Jael going low, aiming to bite at her ankles, Lumine doesn't stop going to the left over Jael. A little contact, muscle to muscle, as she lets her leg slide over Jael's back. Teeth to her ankles, that's fine, not like a little dog would hurt that much. Her siblings pinched harder than that. Instead, she focuses on looming over Jael. Legs on either side of the smaller girl, refusing to waste time or leverage. In the next breath, Lumine releases the strength of her legs and allows them to splay out to her sides. In free fall, it wouldn't take more than a moment to realize what Lumine was planning on doing. Yes, it may seem cheap, but sitting on Jael was just the next logical move. Lumine Trygg

She hadn't realized the girl was toppling intentionally for a split second, and it's all she can do to rear backwards. Trying to get out from under the pup, who already dwarfed her in size. Jael's hackles going up, head ducking low. Shit. What's to say she'll make it out in time? Nothing, actually, and even Jael can't be sure until the dust settles. Striking out with her teeth as they do, she wants purchase on anything tender, anything she can reach for.
