Coran rolled out the roe deer hide on a smooth part of the plains where he could work on it and finish tanning it. He needed a few good hides to line his den, especially with winter coming. The first thing he needed to do was finish scrapping off the remaining gunk. He seized the shoulder blade of a previous kill that he was using as a scrapper and padded over to the hide. He placed his front paws on the hide to help hold it in place while he bent his head to use the scapula to scrape off the remaining bits. For some areas he simply set the scraper down and used his tongue. It was a lot of work but if he kept at it the results would well be worth the effort.
