Now that her introduction was over, she was ready to move on to her next topic. Looking around at those had gathered, she cleared her throat to speak. “Among other things, I’m also a scholar- which is just a way of saying that I like to learn new things, and be as knowledgable as I can.” She paused, offering a soft grin before continuing. “Something that everyone uses, and may not know they are, is a skill called Logic.”
It may seem like an abstract topic. But she hoped that in the end it would all make sense. She wanted these girls to group up to be intelligent and resourceful wolves. And the pursuit of knowledge shouldn’t be forgotten. “Logic is the study and practice of reasoning and argumentation, helping us make sense of complex ideas and draw conclusions based on things we know to be true. In our everyday lives, logical reasoning plays a crucial role in decision-making, problem-solving, and critical thinking. It allows us to analyze information, evaluate arguments, and make sound judgments.” She paused, making sure everyone was still with her. As she allowed her attention to linger on Quill, she couldn’t help but offer him an appreciative smile. She was sure that this wasn’t his ideal way to spend an evening. Though she was certainly glad that he seemed to be interested enough to stick it out.

Arachne continued to listen intently, her focus unwavering as Talyssa delved into the topic of logic. The concept was intriguing to her, and she found herself captivated by Talyssa's explanation. As the fae spoke of reasoning and argumentation, Arachne couldn't help but see the value in such skills. She nodded subtly, indicating her understanding and appreciation for the lesson. While logic might seem like a complex and abstract concept at first, Talyssa's explanation helped clarify its importance in their everyday lives. It was something that everyone used anyways! Arachne made a mental note to further explore this topic on her own, eager to enhance her own reasoning and critical thinking skills.

Barghest listened intently as Talyssa transitioned to her next topic, her expression cold yet thoughtful. A scholar. Did they all have all these things to share? As Talyssa delved into the concept of logic, Barghest's interest was piqued, her ears perking up in anticipation. Logic: The study of reasoning and argumentation. She repeated the words in her mind as if committing them to memory.
As Talyssa continued, emphasizing the practical applications of logical reasoning in everyday life, Barghest found herself nodding along in agreement. The importance of critical thinking and sound judgment was not lost on her, as much as it was on her brother, Quill. Briefly the girl shot the brute a glance, and with a sneer she turned her focus back to Talyssa – seeing only a googoo face on him.

Quill sprawled out on his belly, getting more comfortable as the lesson continued. He rather liked listening to Talyssa speak. Her voice was smooth and melodic. Her mannerisms were both confident and demure at the same time. He was mesmerized. She was a vision. A very intelligent vision. The lesson shifted to one of logic and Quill nodded at her description of the topic. He was capable of being quite logical, though everyone's path of logic was different. Quill was more of a self-centered logic. If it worked in his favor, then it was worth it, everyone else be damned.

She knew it was a tough lesson to follow, but she was really appreciative that everyone still seemed to be tuned in. So she kept going. “There are two main types of logical reasoning: deductive and inductive. Deductive reasoning involves drawing specific conclusions from general truths. An example would be ….” She paused as she tried to create a silly example in her mind. “All wolves have ears. Puppies are wolves. So that means all puppies have ears too.” She declared, offering a silly grin before continuing. “Inductive reasoning, on the other hand, involves drawing general conclusions from specific observations. For instance, if we observe that every time it rains, the ground gets wet, we may generalize that rain causes the ground to become wet.” Just another example of how easily Logic could be found in their daily lives without even noticing.

Arachne sat in stillness, her mind whirling with the new concepts that Talyssa had just introduced her to. Deductive and inductive reasoning - two seemingly opposite processes that now fascinated Arachne. The way Talyssa explained them, with simple yet relatable examples, made it all the more intriguing for Arachne. She could feel her excitement building as she mulled over the information, already making plans to delve deeper into this subject on her own time.
As she sat there, taking in Talyssa's every word, Arachne couldn't help but admire the teacher's style of instruction. It was engaging and informative, keeping her captivated and eager to learn more. Under Talyssa's guidance, Arachne felt like she was expanding her knowledge and capabilities in a way she never thought possible. Gratitude filled her heart for this opportunity and for having such a knowledgeable mentor by her side.

Quill chuckled as Talyssa shared an example of logic. She wasn't wrong in her way of explaining logic, but she was wrong when she said that all puppies had ears. "Though your example does indeed follow logic, there are anomalies. Some puppies are born without ears, are they not?" He was challenging her, forcing the woman to give a logical answer to that challenge. Perhaps it would assist the younger wolves in understanding the lesson more clearly. It would be interesting to Quill to see just how Talyssa would respond. Would he get a little blush out of her? Would she be angry? He could work with either of those emotions.

Barghest's sharp mind absorbed Talyssa's lesson on logical reasoning with interest, her analytical nature relishing the opportunity to think about those words: deductive and inductive, all logic. Talyssa explained the difference between the two types of reasoning while Barghest nodded in understanding – recognizing the simple inherent logic in the woman’s examples. Water was wet, only a dumb ass wouldn't understand that level of logic.
Barghest's dark ears picked up Quill's challenge, her gaze flickering momentarily towards Talyssa as she awaited her response. She observed the exchange with a sense of detached curiosity, her mind already dissecting the nuances of the interaction. And then she just couldn’t help herself. “But they were meant to. That’s why they are an anomaly. Logic tells us that too brother, right lady?” A cocked brow, eyes icy and hungry for knowledge.

Quill’s laughter caught her off guard as she paused after giving her examples. She couldn’t help but tilt her head ever so slightly, looking for an elaboration as to what he thought was funny- even still, she offered an amused grin herself as he explained. In the end, she chuckled as well. “Yes, I suppose you are right, Quill. There are exceptions to every rule. I’m sure there are some unfortunate souls born without ears.” She agreed offering him a wry smirk. “But I can’t say that I’ve personally ever met one.” Sure, many wolves had their ears damaged in life. But entirely born without ears was truthfully something that she had never seen firsthand for herself.
But when Barghest was quick to debate with the man on her own, her chest welled with pride. Quick to back the little girl up, she continued. “Yes, I would say logically speaking, puppies are meant to be born with ears at the very least,” Talyssa added, letting a couple of moments settle between them before moving on to conclude her lesson about Logic and rational thinking. “But by understanding these concepts and applying them in our lives can help us think more critically and make better decisions. That is the ultimate takeaway here.” Friendly debate was all fun and games, and she was happy to partake. As long as the point landed, she was happy.

Arachne couldn't help but find the exchange between Quill and Barghest amusing. She suppressed a small chuckle, watching the playful banter unfold with a hint of amusement in her eyes. It was interesting to see how Talyssa handled the challenge, and Arachne admired her ability to navigate the discussion with grace and humor.
As Talyssa wrapped up her lesson on logic and rational thinking, Arachne felt a sense of satisfaction in having learned something new. She made a mental note to explore the topic further on her own, eager to delve deeper into the world of logic and reasoning. With Talyssa as her guide, Arachne felt confident that she could expand her knowledge and grow as a thinker.

Barghest spoke up and Quill turned his attention to her. He nodded at her comment. "Aye, they are meant to, but nature does as it will. Nature defies logic at times." He was just trying to keep Talyssa talking with his good natured challenge. She rose to it and gave him a reply that brought a smile crossing the giant's maw. "Logical, yes, but not many things are ever absolute." Were they alone, he could tell her about many things that were absolute, but alas... they were in a group.
As the lovely fae finished up her lesson, Quill gave her a nod of his blocky skull. "A fine lesson, Lady Carpathius. Thank you." His voice was a purring rumble as he spoke. He then continued. "It's getting later in the day. Would you like me to escort you to the guest dens and bring you some dinner?" One brow lifted along with the corner of his maw. He hoped she said yes.

Barghest absorbed the exchange between Talyssa, Quill, and herself with a calculated gaze, her demeanor as composed as the girl could make it. A faint smirk played at the corners of Barghest's lips as Talyssa playfully entertained the notion of wolves born without ears, her words a hint of sarcasm that Barghest's own cynical view of the world quite enjoyed.
"My brother is right too," Barghest reaffirmed, her voice dripping with youthful resolution. "Logic says that anomalies exist, but they do not define what is normal. Nature defies logic, defies general truths. Like me."The girl dropped her voice lower, and it took on a more boyish timbre. It was something she tried to control, to hide her oddity. Two birds with one stone, literally – as she used herself as an example and willingly displayed her own anomaly.
